        본 시험은 콩 추출물의 흰쥐 투여에 따른 항산화 효소의 활성을 분석하고, 추출물의 원료인 콩 품종간, 추출물의 투여량 및 지방식이조성에 따른 효소활성도를 측정하였다. 시험결과를 요약하면 아래와 같다. 1. 콩추출물을 투여한 처리구에서 SOD와 GSHpx의 활성이 대조구에 비하여 높게 나타났으나, 통계적 유의성은 인정되지 않았다. 2. 지방식이 및 콜레스테롤을 흰쥐에 투여한 결과 콩추출물 섭취에 따른 항산화계 효소 SOD와 GSHpx의 활성은 검정콩 1호가 다원콩 및 황금콩에 비하여 높았다. 3. 지방식이조성 및 추출물의 투여량에 따른 항산화계 효소 활성도는 통계적으로 유의성이 인정되지 않았다. 4. 각 지방식이에 따른 콩추출물의 SOD와 GSHpx활성도에서 품종과 콩추출물 농도간에서는 상호작용효과가 인정되었다. 5. GSHpx 활성도에서 품종, 콩추출물 농도 및 지방식이간에서 상호작용효과가 인정되었다.

        The effects of UV-B radiation on the seedling growth, carbohydrate metabolism and antioxidants activities of rice (Oryza sativa L.) were investigated under environmentally controlled chamber. Supplementary UV­B radiation reduced dry matter as well as leaf area, there­fore, relative growth rates (RGR) of seedlings were decreased by up to half compared to control. Photosynthetic products such as soluble sugars and starch were rapidly and significantly reduced by within 1 day of enhanced UV-B radiation due to the inhibition and degradation of photosynthetic processes and thylakoid membrane integrity. In our study, nonstructural carbohydrate levels were proved to be a main indicator on UV-B­induced stress. The behavior of SOD, CAT, APX and POD activities was monitored in the leaves of rice seedlings subjected to UV-B radiation. Under UV-B treatments, SOD activity was initially increased, whereas CAT and POD activities were slowly and slightly increased. However, APX activity showed no presumable results with an increase of UV-B dose. In leaves of rice seedlings, supplementary UV-B radiation caused an increase in free putrescine and spermidine, however spermine remained unaltered, although 24-hrs UV-B treatment slightly increased. This result presumes that an excess UV-B dose may induce ethylene biosynthesis (senescence) rather than polyamine biosynthesis (defense).

        Activity of senescence-induced antioxidant enzymes in the detached rice seedlings (Oryza sativa L. cv. Dongjin) was examined. The levels of ~textrmH2~textrmO2 content and peroxidase (POD) activity were gradually increased during leaf senescence, whereas catalase activity was decreased. The activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) was increased, and ascorbate peroxidase (APX) and glutathione reductase (GR) were slightly increased until 3d and 4d of dark induced-senescence, and thereafter were decreased. The activation of all SOD isoforms showed a significant decrease after 6d and 7d. After 4d to 7d of dark senescence, there was a significant effect in enhancing the activity of APX-12 and -13 isoforms as compared with light, despite similar levels in total APX activity. GR-8 and -10 isoforms were more effective in leaf senescence at 4d to 7d, particularly with respect to dark-induced senescence. These results suggest that the metabolism of active oxygen species such as ~textrmH2~textrmO2 is dependent on various functionally interrelated antioxidant enzymes such as catalase, peroxidase, SOD, APX and GR.
