        This study is a survey of regulatees' perception on main contents and enforcement effect of the Act, the retailers at food stores within Green Food Zone, for the effective enforcement of “The Special Act on the Safety Management of Children's Dietary Life” legislated in 2008. Percentage, frequency analysis, and T-test are derived from the survey carried out to the 175 retailers at food stores within Green Food Zone, across the country except Jejudo, for the two months March and April of 2011. The survey results are as follows. Over 80% of the respondents are aware of comprehensive policy for child food safety and the enforcement of 'the Special Act' and considering the rate of satisfaction on food safety information provided by government, over 90% of the respondents, virtually most of them, are satisfied. The rate of awareness of Green Food Zone is about 80% and that of outstanding business for children is about 50%, showing little perception of it. The comparison of the survey result of 2011 with that of 2010, which have the same questions to the retailers within Green Food Zone, still indicates a need for enhancement of understanding on absolute standard, though it showed fairly better improvement in general. Several proposals are given in this study based on the survey results, which will contribute to the children food safety and health improvement in the end.

        This study was conducted to evaluate the microbiological hazard on nursery school children's hands and to investigate the reduction effect of hand washing education. A total of 59 nursery school children's hands were tested. The average number of total aerobic bacteria was 3.72 ± 0.38 log CFU/hand. Five children's hands(2 male and 3 female) were positive(14.3%) for the coliform bacteria. These results showed that hand washing education are required repetitively. Among the pathogenic bacteria tested in this study, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus were detected in 9(25.7%) and 16(45.7%) out of 35 their hands, respectively. Twelve out of sixteen B. cereus isolates(70.0%) produced enterotoxin. The results indicate that the hand hygiene of nursery school children needs to be improved. Comparing before and after hand washing in educated and non-educated group, the reduction effect of total aerobic bacteria on their hands was 0.42 and 0.60 log CFU/hand, respectively. The educated group showed 0.18 log CFU/hand higher reduction effect than non-educated group but microorganism did not eliminate perfectly. From the results, using a hand sanitizer after washing with soap and the continuous hand washing education are required to control the contaminated bacteria on nursery school children's hands.

        The purpose of this study was to understand the influence of instant noodle's selection attribution on satisfaction and to empirically analyze whether or not grade (elementary schoolchildren, middle school students, high school students) plays a moderating role in the relationship between selection attribution and satisfaction. Further, this study examined the differences in demographic characteristics among two groups of subjects divided by instant noodle's selection attribution. Based on a total of 1021 samples, this study verified a total of 3 hypotheses using the SPSS program. Data were analyzed by frequency analysis, chi-square, t-test, factor analysis, reliability analysis, cluster analysis, discriminant analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. Results of the study were as follows. There were three different instant noodle's selection attributions among the children and adolescents investigated: internal element, external element, and company reliability. The multiple regression results show that internal element (=.391), external element (=.239), and company reliability (=.063) among customers' selection attributions had significant positive effects on satisfaction. In addition, the effect of selection attribution upon satisfaction was partially moderated according to grade. Further, cluster analysis divided subjects into two groups according to instant noodle's selection attribution: high-selection group vs. low-selection group. The wo groups of subjects classified by instant noodle's selection attribution were also different from each other in demographic characteristics. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.

        This study was conducted to develop an appropriate management for safety of children snacks. In this study, monitorings of food additives such as four kinds of sweeteners (sodium saccharin, aspartame, acesulfame potassium, sucralose) which are sold in children snacks at stationary store around the school were performed. 92 samples (34 ice cakes, 52 beverages and 6 candies) were analyzed for sweeteners. Contents of 4 kinds of sweeteners in ice cakes, beverages and candies were 0.41, 0.47, 0.00 mg/kg for sodium saccharin, 0.00, 20.54, 197.09 mg/kg for aspartame,0.00, 28.10, 0.00 mg/kg for acesulfame potassium, 9.99, 1.40, 0.00 mg/kg for sucralose. Results of risk assessment for sweeteners were expressed as EDI (Estimated Daily Intake) comparing with ADI (Acceptable Daily Intake). The ratio of high risk group for sweeteners intake (95th) were 0~2.66%. The results of this study indicated that each EDI of four kinds of sweeteners sold at stationary stores around the school is much lower than each ADI in general. Consequently, the children snacks are thought to be safe for consumption.

        목 적: 취학 전 어린이와 부모의 시력검사 행동양식을 조사하여 취학 전 어린이의 시력검사 참여율을 높 이기 위한 개선방안을 제안하고자 한다. 방 법: 대전지역 12개 유치원의 만6세(평균연령 6.0±0.2세) 어린이 487명을 대상으로 시력검사와 자동 굴절검사, 자각식 굴절검사, 가림검사, 허쉬버그검사를 실시하였다. 설문지를 이용하여 유치원 어린이와 부 모의 시력검사 행동양식을 분석하였다. 결 과: 조사대상자들의 등가구면굴절력은 오른쪽 눈 -0.15±0.81D, 왼쪽 눈 -0.14±0.75D였다. 조사대 상 어린이 487명 중 73명(15.0%)이 비정시이었고 이들 중에서 5명(6.8%)이 안경을 착용하고 있었다. 취학 전 어린이에서 189명(42.4%)이 시력검사 경험이 있었으며 이들 중에서 56.1%(n=106)가 집단시력검사 기회 를 이용하였다. 부모들에서는 54.8%(부 57.9%, 모 51.6%)가 정기적으로 시력검사를 받고 있었고 이들의 51.6%(부 55.8%, 모 46.6%)가 집단시력검사 기회를 이용하고 있었다. 취학 전 어린이와 그들의 부모의 시 력검사 행동양식은 비슷한 경향을 보였다. 결 론: 취학 전 어린이의 시력검사는 제도화된 집단검사를 통해 시행되어야 하며 참여율을 높이고 검사 결과의 신뢰성을 높이기 위해 시력검사 전문가인 안경사를 활용하는 방안을 제안한다.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate foodservice management practices in the child care centers and kindergartens. Interviews were held from May to July 2008 to understand the current situation concerning foodservices in Seoul and Gyeonggi provinces. Surveys were sent out from August 2008 to April 2009 to 1, 478 child care centers and 299 kindergartens via the postal service. Among them, 203 child care centers(13.7%) and 64 kindergartens(21.4%) responded. One of the largest concerns while preparing the food was nutrition(68.7%, 69.8%, respectively) followed by sanitation(24.4%, 27.0%, respectively). The most frequently referred sources for planning the menu were the Seoul child care information center(55.4%) for child care centers and kindergarten related internet sites(39.0%) for the kindergartens. In general, the child care center principal was in charge of planning the menu(40.1%). Child care centers and kindergartens purchased ingredients mostly from large retailers(55.3% and 44.7%, respectively), whereas 46.0% and 56.3% of those did through foodservice suppliers. Dietitians were rarely employed at these facilities, and this may cause unprofessional foodservice management.

        This study considered the whole intake patterns and realities of consumption of instant noodles on sales targeting children and adolescents. Based on a total of 1021 subjects, data from self-administrated questionnaires were collected and analyzed using comparative statistical analysis, including frequency, chi-square, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. Results of the study were as follows. The preference levels for instant noodles by children and adolescents were 5.25, thereby showing a more than moderate preference. Middle school boy students' preference for instant noodles was the highest. The main reason for preferring instant noodles was taste and convenience. The main reason for disliking instant noodles was poor nutrition and likelihood of becoming fat. The intake of instant noodles was the highest between lunch and dinner with a frequency of once to twice per week. Content of soup powder given taking instant noodles was the largest in having putted all. The soup quantity of being left given taking instant noodles was possessed the majority in almost not eating soup. The main reason for not consuming soup was being full or concerns for health. A significant difference was observed in preference level for instant noodles and in intake patterns depending on the respondents' general characteristics. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.

        This study was to assess the lifetime cancer and non-cancer risk on exposure to volatile organic compounds This study was assessed the lifetime cancer and non-cancer risk of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) exposure in young children at elementary-schools and academies in Korea. The samples were collected at children's facilities (50 elementary-schools and 42 academies) in summer (Aug ~ Sept, 2008), winter (Dec 2008 ~ Feb, 2009) and Spring (Mar ~ Apr, 2009) periods, and analyzed by GC-MSD. We estimated the lifetime excess cancer risks (ECRs) of benzene and the hazard quotients (HQs) of non-carcinogens toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene and styrene. In addition, for carcinogens, the excess cancer risk (ECR) was calculated by considering the process of deciding cancer potency factor (CPF) and age dependent adjust Factor (ADAF) from the data in adults. The average ECRs of benzene for young children were 1×10-7~1×10-9 level in all facilities. HQs of four non-carcinogens did not exceed 1.0 for all subjects in all facilities.

        그동안 어린이 교통안전 관련 자료 및 정책수립은 교통사고 발생 후 교통사고 건수 및 발생현황 중심으로 이루어져 왔으나 개별 어린이의 교통사고 노출 가능성 정도를 미리 진단함으로써 전체 어린이 가운데 위험정도가 높은 어린이들을 분류하여 이들에 대한 교통사고 예방교육에 주의를 기울일 필요가 있다. 이에 어린이의 교통안전행동을 측정함으로써 위험에 노출될 가능성 정도를 미리 파악할 수 있는 측정도구를 개발하는데 연구의 목적을 두고 있다. 예비검사용 문항(259문항)으로 서울시와 광역시 소재 초등학교 2곳을 임의 선정하여 총 600명을 대상으로 예비검사를 실시하였으며, 본검사는 약 3,500명을 대상으로 저학년은 53문항을, 고학년은 72문항을 사용하여 실시하였다. 연구결과 저학년용은 4개요인(행동통제부족성향, 공격성향, 자기 조절성향, 충동성향)으로 44문항을 추출하였고, 고학년용은 4개요인(행동통제부족성향, 우울성향, 자극추구성향, 공격성향)으로 69문항을 추출하였다. 교통안전행동에 문제를 지닌 학생과 문제를 가지지 않은 학생을 구분하기 위한 기준점수 산출시 남녀간 성별 차이를 고려하였다. 이로써 산출된 저학년용의 남자 어린이 기준점수는 63점, 여자 어린이 기준점수는 50점이다. 그리고 고학년용 남자 어린이 기준점수는 110점, 여자 어린이 기준점수는 99점이다.

        본 연구는 최근 지상파 방송의 어린이 TV프로그램이 왜 그렇게 축소되고 있는 지에 대한 문제의식 하에서, 텔레비전 어린이 프로그램의 제작에 관한 문제를 좀 더 체계적으로 이해하고 성찰해 보고자 MBC <뽀뽀뽀>의 생산과정에 대한 민속지 학적 연구를 수행하였다. 연구결과, <뽀뽀뽀> 프로그램의 기획 의도는 프로그램을 통해 어린이들이 논리적 사고력과 창의성을 키우고, 놀이체험 등을 통해 인지학습 및 사회적응 능력을 향상시키는 것이다. 이러한 <뽀뽀뽀>의 생산과정을 둘러싼 환 경들의 특성으로 여러 제작진들의 재능과 의견의 수렴을 통해 생산된 창작구성물, 프로그램의 ‘교육성’ 강화를 통한 학부모 ‘관심 끌기’, 다양한 루트를 통한 피드백 과 의견반영, 텔레비전 생산물 및 외주제작물로서 특징, 방송 편성 및 제작 환경의 열악성 등을 확인할 수 있었다. 이에 따라 향후 텔레비전 어린이 프로그램이 글로 벌 콘텐츠로서 제작될 수 있도록 회사차원의 정책적 배려와 관심, 과감한 경제적 투자, 프로그램 개발에 대한 지속적인 노력과 장기적인 시간 투입의 필요성을 제기 하였다.

        This study was conducted to develop an appropriated management for safety of children snacks sold around school. Total 598 items as targeted food were collected; 66 biscuits, 320 candies, 57 chocolates, 40 ice creams and 115 beverages. Microbiological hazards such as total aerobic bacteria, Coliforms, Escherichia coli, Bacillus ceruse, Yeasts & molds were measured by analytical method in Korean food code. Total aerobic bacteria and Yeasts & molds were detected in cookies at the level of less than 2.69 and 2.65 log10CFU/g and the detection rates were 54.55 and 62.12%, respectively. Bacillus cereus was detected in 1 snack only at the level of 1.39 log10CFU/g but it was less than Korean microbial standards and specifications (3 log10 CFU/g). Total aerobic bacteria and Yeasts &molds were detected in candies less than 2.86, 3.36 log10CFU/g and the detection rates were 46, 8% respectively. Total aerobic bacteria, Yeast & mold were detected in chocolates at the levels less than 2.52 and 1.87 log10CFU/g and the detection rates were 33 and 22% respectively. Total aerobic bacteria in both ice creams and beverages were detected at the levels less than 3.39 and 1.35 log10CFU/g and the detection rates were 82 and 5% respectively. Coliforms were found in one ice cream (1.39 log10CFU/g) only. The result of this study indicated that all children snacks around school were suitable for microbial standard and specifications in Korean Food Code. However, since most children snacks around school are circulated without proper storage temperature and handing condition, consistent microbial management for children snacks are needed.

        일반적인 중국어 독자는 약 3000개의 독특한 문자를 기억해야지만, 일상적인 글 읽기에 대처할 수 있는데, 이 때 사용되는 대부분의 글자들은 본인의 대량의 필사를 통하여 학습해 얻은 것이다. 이 때 학습자가 학습하는 필순은 이미 수천 년의 역사를 가지고 있다. 이론상으로 말하면, 독자는 글자를 식별하는 것만 필요 하고, 정확한 필순을 공부하는 것은 불필요하다. 뇌에 어떤 형상이 형성되는 과정 에 대한 연구에서는, 중문의 독해 능력은 업무를 수행하는 기억 속의 시각 공간 처리와 관계가 있다는 것을 보여준다. 때문에, 본 연구는 중문 독해와 관계있는 여러 요소와 시각 공간 기억의 관계를 연구하여 밝히는 것이며, 아울러 중문 독해 중 필순에 대한 인식이 필요한지 아닌지를 연구 토론해 보고자 한다. 본 연구의 대상은 북경의 한 초등학교에서 공부하는 1학년 학생 40명으로, 연구 과정 중에서 비언어 지능 지수, 독해의 표현, 필획과 부건에 대한 단기 기억과 그 들이 익숙하거나 생소한 한자에 대한 필순의 정확성을 측정하였다. 결과는 필획의 기억과 독해 능력 표현은 확실한 관련성이 있고, 필순과도 관련 있다는 것을 보여준다. 부건에 대한 단기 기억과 독해 능력은 무관하였으나, 생소 한 어휘의 필순의 정확성을 판별하는데 대해서는 오히려 관련성이 있었다. 또한, 필순과 독해 능력 표현은 강한 상관성이 있었다. 총체적으로 필순에 대하여 정확 성은 독해 능력 표현의 중요한 지표가 되었다. 익숙한 어휘의 필순 정확성은 또한 생소한 어휘의 필순 정확성의 지표가 되기도 하였다. 요컨대, 필획에 대한 단기 기억이 부건에 대한 단기 기억보다 더욱 중요하였음을 보여주고 있으며, 정확한 필순의 인식은 중국어 속의 독해 능력에 아주 중요한 영향을 끼치고 있음을 알 수 있다.

        This survey was conducted to develop an appropriate management for safety of children snacks. In this study, monitorings of food additives such as nine kinds of tar colors (tartrazine, sunset yellow FCF, brilliant blue FCF, indigo carmine, new coccine, amaranth, erythrosine, allura red and fast green FCF) which are sold at stationary store around the school, were performed. Eighty two samples (3 snacks, 71 candies, 4 chocolates and 4 beverages)were analyzed for tar colors. Results of risk assessment for tar colors were expressed as EDI (Estimated Daily Intake) comparing with ADI (Acceptable Daily Intake). The ratio of high risk group for tar color intake (95th) were 0-3.56%. The consumptions of tar colors from domestic and imported products for nine kinds of tar colors in candies were not significantly different. The results of this study indicated that each EDI of nine kinds of tar colors sold at stationary store around the school is much lower than each ADI in general. Consequently, the children snacks are thought to be safe for consumption.

        This study assessed the health risk of trace elements in indoor children-facilities by multi-pathway measurements (Air, Dust, Wipe, Hand washing). The samples of indoor place were collected at various children's facilities (40 day-care houses, 42 child-care centers, 44 kindergartens, and 42 indoor playgrounds) in summer (Jul~Sep, 2007) and winter (Jan~Feb, 2008) periods, and analyzed by ICP-MS. The lifetime Excess Cancer Risks (ECRs) were estimated for carcinogen trace elements such as As, Cd, Cr and Ni. For carcinogens, the Excess Cancer Risk (ECR) was calculated by considering the process of deciding Cancer Potency Factor (CPF) and Age Dependent Adjust Factor (ADAF) of the data of adults. Both Hazard Quotients (HQs) and Hazard Index (HI) were estimated for the non-carcinogens and children sensitivity trace elements like Cd, Cu, and Cr. The average ECRs for young children were 1×10-10~1×10-6 (50%th percentile) level in all facilities. Non-carcinogens and Children's sensitivity materials did not exceed 1.0 (HQs, HI) for all subjects in all facilities. For trace elements their detection rates through multi-pathways were not high and their risk based on health risk assessment was also observed to be acceptable. In addition, through education on the risk of multi-pathway exposure of trace elements for managers of facilities as well as for users the risk control of exposure of children.

        In this study, monitoring of food additives as an artificial sweetener on favorite foods of children,which are deal at retail store and stationery store around eliminatory school, was performed. We analyzed aspartame,potassium acesulfame, sodium saccharin, and cyclamate from candys, biscuits, chocolates and others. Total 604 items as targeted food were collected from the other country; 285 items of candys, 131 items of biscuits, 74 items of chocolates.,114 items of others. Targeted foods were classified by manufacture nation; 308 samples from domestic products,211 from China, 26 from Indonesia, and 59 items from other nations. Artificial sweeteners were detected from 75 cases of food stuff which were 38 native product, 25 China, 9 Indonesia, and 3 others. The percentage of detected artificial sweeteners was aspartame 7.8% (47 cases), potassium acesulfame 3.0% (18 cases), sodium saccharin 1.8%(11 cases), and cyclamate 2.6% (16 cases). The detected concentration were followed [average(minimum-maximum)mg/kg]; aspartame 817 (21-4,988), potassium acesulfame 192 (24-1,136), sodium saccharin 91 (5-326), and cyclamate 926 (8-4,680). Aspartame was detected mainly on Korea foods, and cyclamate and sodium saccharin were detected from Indonesia food, artificial sweeteners were detected Chinese food, broadly. As a result, 17 cases were violated against regulatory standard of cyclamate, and sodium saccharin. Considering average body weight (36.9 kg)and daily intake of biscuits (15.6 g) for elementary student, ratio of estimated daily intake and acceptable daily intake was 0.86% for aspartame, 0.54% for potassium acesulfame, 0.77% for sodium saccharin, and 3.56% for cyclamate.
