본 연구는 원예치료가 정서･행동장애 위험아동의 자기 표현력과 정서, 사회성에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 실시하였다. 대상자는 초등학교 학생 중 1,2차에 걸친 학생정서행동특성검사(CPSQ) 결과 기준 점수 이상이 나온 위축되고 자신감이 결여된 5, 6학년 남학생 6명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 원예치료 프로그램은 Corey(1995)의 집단발달단계에 기초하여 시작단계, 전환단계, 작업단계, 마무리단계로 분류하여 설계하였다. 평가결과 자기표현력은 원예치료 실시 후 내용적 자기표현력과 비언어적 자기표현력이 유의하게 향상되었고 정서는 활동의욕, 집중력, 성취감, 표정의 항목에서 유의한 향상을 보였으며 사회성은 도덕성, 지도성, 협조성, 참여도에서 유의한 향상이 있었다. 이상의 연구결과 살아있는 식물을 매개체로 긍정적인 정서를 경험하고 감정을 표현하는 원예치료는 정서･행동장애 위험 아동의 자기 표현력과 정서 및 사회성에 효과적이었다고 판단된다.
The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of the horticultural therapy on self-experssiion, emotion, and sociality of children at risk for emotional and behavioral disorders. The horticultural therapy program was composed of Initial, Transition, Working and Final Stage based on the group development stages by Corey. The evaluation results are as follows. In the test of self-expression of the subjects, content self-expression and non-verbal self-expression showed significant improvement. In the test of emotion of the subjects, will to activity, concentration, sense of accomplishment, and looks showed significant improvement. In the test of sociality of the subjects, morality, leadership, cooperation, and participation showed significant improvement. As such, it was found that the horticultural therapy program according to group development stages was very effective on the improvement of the self-expression, emotion, and sociality of children at risk for emotional and behavioral disorders.
