21세기에 들어선 이후 한국 사회는 엄청난 변화를 겪어 왔다. 사회적으로는 이문화권 출신의 새로운 구성원들이 대거 유입되면서 기존의 단일 민족 중심의 사회적 기반이 붕괴되어 다문화주의라는 새로운 패러다임이 생겨났고, 과학기술적으로는 하루가 멀다 하고 등장하는 최첨단 기술들이 생활의 습관과 사회문화적 흐름을 급속하게 바꾸어 버렸다. 이토록 급변하는 시대적 배경 속에서 한국인들은 세대와 세대, 계층과 계층, 문화와 문화 간에 유례없는 가치관의 혼란과 더불어 심각한 소통의 문제를 겪고 있다. 따라서 이글에서는 이러한 한국 사회의 시대적 현실에서 발생할 수 있는 다양한 소통의 문제와 그 근본 원인을 탐구하고자, 한국어의 여러 화행 중 다양한 의도로 활용될 수 있는 청유 표현이 사용된 담화 상황을 제시하고, 해당 상황에 맞는 사회문화적 배경을 바탕으로 해석하여 담화 속에 존재하는 언표내적 맥락을 읽어 내고자 하였다.

Since turning 21st century, Korea society has faced enormous variety of changes. The great inflow of new members from different cultures has suggested a new paradigm called multi-culturalism. As the result, the traditional mono-ethnicism driven value system has gradually collapsed. Moreover, invention of new high-tech devices have changed people’s life style and sociocultural aspects. In this rapidly changing society, many Koreans are coping with unparalleled confusion of values as well as serious communication problems between generations, social grades and cultures. In this reason, I elaborated on not only Korean expressions of making suggestions but also the sociocultural background reflected on them in order to understand the deeper context and investigate the real causes of miscommunications. Furthermore, I also indicated some discourses including refusals or agreement expressions to reveal the illocutionary forces in contexts that appear different upon various sociocultural backgrounds.
