『구봉집(龜峯集)』 권3의 ｢태극문(太極問)｣은 원작자가 누군가에 대 한 진위 문제는 있지만, 그 내용 자체로 조선중기 율곡학파의 태극관 (太極觀)과 리기관(理氣觀)을 엿볼 수 있는 중요한 자료라고 생각한 다. 이 글에서는 ｢태극문｣의 저자를 구봉(龜峯)으로 보고, 그 속에 담긴 철학사상을 객관적으로 알아보는 것을 그 목적으로 한다.
이를 위해 먼저, 무극(無極)과 태극(太極)의 개념과의 상호관계를 알아보았다. 구봉은 무극과 태극이 차제(次第)없는 하나의 실체이며, 무극지진(無極之眞)이 곧 태극이라고 하였다. 다음으로는 태극과 리기 (理氣)의 관계를 살펴보았다. 구봉은 태극이 곧 리(理)며, 리(理)와 기(氣)는 ‘하나면서 둘이며, 둘이면서 하나’라는 ‘불상리 불상잡(不相 離 不相雜)의 관계이며, 리(理)는 소통성을 가지고 기(氣)는 국한(局 限)성을 가져 다양성과 통일성이 이루어진다고 보았다. 마지막으로 기 인 음양(陰陽)의 ‘움직임과 정지(靜止)함’, 즉 동정(動靜)에 대한 구봉 의 이해를 살펴보았다. 구봉은 음양이 움직이고 정지하는 원리를 태극 으로 설명하고, 이러한 동정의 원리가 천명(天命)이라고 하였다. 이러 한 연구를 통하여 구봉의 태극관(太極觀)은 주희(朱熹)나 이이(李珥) 와 다른 독창성이 있는지를 알아보고, 태극을 현대적 의미로 활용 가능한지 그 가능성을 찾아보았다. 세계화시대의 국제경쟁에서는 국가의 이미지와 그 이미지브랜드의 상품가치는 매우 중요하다. 현재 한국을 대표하는 문화적 국가브랜드를 만들어야 한다면 이 태극(太極)이 가장 의미 있는 내용이 될 수 있을 것이며, 이에 대한 연구개발이 필요하다.

There is a doubt about 『Gubongjip(龜峯集)』 Vol.3 ｢TaiJiwèn(太極 問)｣’s original author, but the contents’s self have good reference for the school of Yulgok’s the theory LiQiof and TaiJi. In this article. I consider ｢TaiJiwèn｣’s author is Gubong Song Yikpil(宋翼 弼. 1534~1599), and I will study his philosophical thought in there.
For this purpose first, I researched about the concept of Wuji (無 極) and TàiJi (太極), and there inter-relationship. Gubong said that Wújí and TàiJí are the eternal substance, and the genuine of Wújí is just TàiJi .
Next, I studied the relation between TàiJi and LiQi. Gubong regarded TàiJi that is Li, Li and Qi is “one, but it's where Two(一而 二), two and, as one”. Li and Qi is “not be separated from each other(不相離), not mix together(不相雜)”. Qi have the ability of the communication, have the limitations, also Li and Qi they forming the diversity and unification in nature.
Lastly, I studied the Moving and stopping of Yin Yáng (陰陽) in Gubong’s philosophy. He explained the Moving and stopping of Yin Yáng is the principle of TàiJi, and that is the mandate from Heaven(天命).
In this study, I sought after the Gubong’s Concept of TàiJi have another Characteristic with Zhūxī(朱熹. 1130~1200) and Lǐěr(李珥. 1536~1584), and how we can utilize “the TàiJì" in modern viewpoint.
In the age of globalization, We need developing Korean bland using the draw a TàiJi(太極) symbol.
