지난 Hebei Spirit호 기름유출사고 사고 통해서 드러난 해안오염에 대한 방제방안 중 캐나다 SCAT 팀을 통해 소개된 해안오염평가는 미국, 캐나다, 유럽, 호주 등 해양선진국에 의하여 표준화된 평가방법으로 제시되고 있다. 하지만, 우리나라는 해안오염평가를 위한 제도적인 장치가 없는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 해상의 기름유출로 인한 해안 오염을 대비한 해양선진국들의 효율적인 해안방제를 위한 방법을 알아보고, 우리나라 해안에 적합한 방제요소를 제시하 고자 한다.

SCAT(Shoreline Cleanup Assessment Technique) is regarded as a standardized method to assess oiled shoreline among developed countries. But, there is not a institutional device to assess oiled shoreline in Republic of Korea. In this study, we'll look around the methods for efficient shoreline cleanup of developed countries, suggest essential elements for cleanup of Republic of Korea.
