범죄인에 대한 처우는 교정의 패러다임에 따라 달라져 왔다. 응보주의 시대 에는 교화라는 교정 서비스의 생산과 소비의 개념이 없었으나 응보주의 행형 이념의 배경이 되었던 특별권력 관계이론이 수정되고 인도적인 행형 이념이 대두 됨에 따라 형벌의 목적은 교육과 치료에 있다는 교육형 주의가 도래되었다. 관료독점 교정 공공재 레짐과 관리적 접근을 전제로 하는 교육형 주의는 과학적인 보안 서비스와 교화 서비스를 생산내용으로 하면서 근대이후 경로 의존적인 수확체증 방식으로 계속되어 왔으나 여전히 높은 재범률과 교정에 대한 탈 행정적 접근의 필요성 등으로 교정 공공재의 생산을 행정적 접근이 아닌 사회복지적으로 하려는 움직임이 대두었다. 특히 사회복지학의 가족치료 이론, 강점 이론, 위기개입 모델은 교정복지 또는 사법복지의 중요성을 시사하였으며 이에 따라 교정재(矯正財)의 생산도 사회복지적으로 접근하기 시작하였으며 교도소의 직제에도 그러한 것이 반영되기 시작하였다. 그러나, 교정복지의 역사가 일천한 관계로 국내에서는 교정복지에 대한 통일된 정의가 없고 교정복지학의 성격이나 정체성도 규명되지 않아 교정복지학의 발전을 저해하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 교정복지와 교정복지학에 대한 과학적인 성격규정을 시도하였는데 이러한 논의의 실익은 교정복지재 생산의 대상과 생산의 주체 및 교정복지 실천기술의 선택과 교정복지 탄력성의 구성요소 등을 결정하는 실천적 의의가 있다. 또한 우리나라에서 교정복지의 나아갈 방향등을 회복적 교정복지와 관련시켜 모색해 보았다.

We are here concerned with the key aspects of the korean correctional social welfare currently needed in relation with the it`s identify including the concept and ideology.
Thus this paper is intended on an investigation of the desirable direction of the korean correctional social welfare character.
In this article, I discuss a little further the proper direction of the identify of the korean correctional social welfare science which has been remained unsettled owing to the diverse definition proposed by many correctional social welfare scientists.
In fact, Little attention has been given to the identify including to the definition of the korean correctional social welfare science and very few attempts have been made at such identity study.
Although studies have been made on the correctional social welfare practical field including correctional supervision, there is little agreement on how correctional social welfare identify is generated and still controversial.
Thus, a good place to start is to know which science family the correctional social welfare belong to. I defined it`s identify as the complexed science.
The problem which we have to consider next is what should be done to define the concept of the correctional social welfare which have been divided into diverse group.
I asserted it`s original definition through it`s classification. there is a further question which needs to be asked. the question is how to propose the desirable direction of the korean correctional social welfare.
In this connection, from what has been discussed above, it seem reasonable -my opinion- to conclude that the desirable direction of the Korean correctional social welfare can be classified into two main groups : correctional social welfare science academy and national correctional social worker license.
