목적 : 본 연구는 핸드 사이클 선수 및 동호인을 대상으로 현재 사용 중인 핸드 사이클 사용 실태 및 만족도를 조사하고 향후 한국형 핸드 사이클 개발을 위한 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다.
연구방법 : 현재 핸드 사이클 선수로 등록이 되어 있거나 핸드 사이클 동호회 회원으로 활동하고 있는 장애인 22명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문지는 대상자의 일반적인 사항 8문항, 핸드 사이클 사용 및 만족도 문항 15문항으로 구성되었다. 조사기간은 2014년 10월~11월이었다.
결과 : 대상자의 60% 이상이 핸드 사이클 사용 중 혹은 사용 이후에 통증이 있다고 답하였고, 가장 많이 통증을 호소한 부위는 어깨였다. 현재 사용하고 있는 핸드 사이클은 100% 수입품이며, 가격대는 500만원 이상으로 구입처 및 가격 만족도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 사용하는 핸드 사이클 형태는 좌식(46.1%), 와식(38.5%), K-Type(15.4%)로 대상자 대부분이 보통 이상의 만족도를 보였다. 그립 및 브레이크는 손잡이형(53.8%)이 가장 많았으며, 역시 보통 이상의 만족도를 보였다.
결론 : 본 연구를 통해서 핸드 사이클 형태 및 구성품에 대한 만족도는 보통 이상이었으나, 대상자 대부분이 통증을 호소 하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 앞으로 한국형 핸드 사이클 개발을 위한 기초자료로 본 연구 자료가 활용되기를 기대해 본다.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to survey the present situation and satisfaction of handcycle users.
Methods : From October to November, 2014, 22 handcycle users with physically disability were chosen and interview was carried out using by a questionnaire including general characteristic 8 items, 15 items related use and satisfaction of handcycle.
Results : The followings are the results of this study. First, Over 60% of participants responded about the pain existence during or after using handcycle. The most responded area of the pain was shoulder. Currently using handcycles were 100% imported and the price was over 5,000 dollars resulting low satisfaction in price. Moreover, the types of handcycle partcipants use were seated or kneeling position type(46.1%), recumbent or full spine position type(38.5%), or K-Type(15.4%), and most of users showed satisfaction above the average. In case of grip and brake, handle type was 53.8% indicating the most used type among the users. The satisfaction again was shown above the average.
Conclusion : The satisfaction of the types and the components of handcycles were above the average. However, most of the users reported about the existence of pain. Therefore, we expect the results of this research to be utilized in the Korean handcycle development.
