이 연구의 목적은 지난 25년 동안 한국선교신학회 학자들에 의해 「선교신학」에 게재된 명시적인 또는 은연적인 공공신학 논문들을 분석 하는 것이다. 지면의 제한으로 인해 은연적인 논문들은 서론과 결론에 서만 간략하게 다룬다. 2장에서 연구자는 다음 다섯 편의 명시적 논문들 을 요약문을 제공하는 방식으로 소개한다. 최형근의 “한국교회의 공공 성 회복을 위한 역사적, 신학적, 문화적 고찰”과 조해룡의 “21세기 문화 속에서 복음의 공공성 회복을 위한 교회의 선교적 과제: 레슬리 뉴비긴의 복음의 공공성을 중심으로”와 “공적 제자도를 이루는 생태학 적-선교적 교회론: 하워드 스나이더(Howard A. Snyder)의 교회론을 중심으로”와 안승오의 “다시 생각해 보는 공적신학”과 정훈의 “The Nature of Missiology as Public Theology.” 결론에서는 본론에서 다룬 논문 다섯 편의 상호 관련성과 선교적 의의를 간략하게 평가하고, 마지막에 연구자 본인의 의견들을 더한다.

The purpose of this article is to analyze articles that explicitly and implicitly deal with public theology topics published in「Theology of Mission」by members of the Korean Society of Mission Studies for the last 25 years. Due to limitations in space, the implicit articles are only briefly dealt with in the introduction and conclusion. In Chapter 2, the author introduces the following five explicit articles by offering a summary of each: Hyung-keun Choi’s “Historical, Theological, and Cultural Reflections for the Restoration of Publicity of the Korean Church,” Hae Lyong Cho’s “Church’s Responsibility and Duty in the Recovery of Publicity of the Gospel in the 21st Century Culture: Centered on Lesslie Newbigin’s Publicity of the Gospel” and “Ecological-missional Ecclesiology Achieving the Public Discipleship: Center of Howard Snyder’s Ecclesiology,” Seung-oh An’s ”Rethinking Public Theology,” and Hoon Jung’s “The Nature of Missiology as Public Theology.” In the conclusion, the author evaluates the interrelationship between the five articles and their missional significance, and gives recommendations.
