본 연구는 19세기 표제음악의 융합과 변용을 ‘트랜스미디어 스토리텔 링’이라는 현대 문화적 양상과 비교하여 19세기의 표제음악이 현대의 디 지털적 커버전스 문화와 유사한 특성을 가지고 있는지 확인하는 것에 목 적이 있다. 표제음악은 융합과 변용을 통한 다양한 청중과의 소통과 음 악의 대중화 시도라는 점에서 트랜스미디어 스토리텔링과 유사한 목적을 가지고 있다. 구체적 사례로써 표제음악 중 드뷔시의 ‘바다(La Mer)’, 리스트 의 3개의 피아노 녹턴과 ‘파우스트 교향곡’을 선곡하여 분석한 결과, 드뷔시의 ‘바다(La Mer)’는 회화, 음악 및 문학 등의 각각의 콘텐츠를 가지면서 동일 목표를 가지는 하나 의 세계관을 구성하고 있다. 3개의 피아노 녹턴은 시와 예술가곡 그리고 피아노 곡 등 의 다양한 콘텐츠가 독립적으로 확산하면서 하나의 통일된 세계관을 이루고 있으며, 파 우스트 교향곡은 악장별로 다른 캐릭터의 스토리를 표현하면서 하나의 캐릭터인 파우스 트로 통합되었음이 발견되었다. 이러한 구성 요소들은 모두 트랜스미디어 스토리텔링의 대표적 특징이다. 따라서 장르적, 시공간적 한계를 뛰어넘으려는 문화적 시 도는 19세기 표제음악으로 거슬러 올라가는 오랜 역사적 전통을 가지고 있으며, 향후 트랜스미디어 스토리텔링을 뛰어넘는 다양한 상상력이 발 휘되는 새로운 문화기획이 가능할 것으로 사료 된다.

The purpose of this study is to compare the fusion and transformation of the 19th century title music with the modern cultural aspect of 'transmedia storytelling' to confirm whether the title music in the 19th century has similar characteristics to the modern digital covert culture. Title music has a similar purpose to transmedia storytelling in that it is an attempt to popularize music and communicate with various audiences through convergence and transformation. As a specific example, as a result of selecting and analyzing Debussy's 'La Mer', Liszt's three piano Nocturnes and 'Faust Symphony' among the title music, Debussy's 'La Mer' is well suited to painting, music and literature. It has each content of and constitutes a worldview with the same goal, and the three piano nocturnes form a unified worldview by independently spreading various contents such as poetry, art songs, and piano songs, and Faust It was found that the symphony was integrated into a single character, Faust, while expressing the story of a different character for each movement, and these components are all representative characteristics of transmedia storytelling. Therefore, cultural attempts to overcome the limits of genre and time and space have a long historical tradition dating back to the 19th century title music, and it is considered that new cultural planning that goes beyond transmedia storytelling and demonstrates various imaginations will be possible in the future.
