이 연구의 목적은 시나리오 작가 지망생이나 창작 입문 단계의 학생들 이 파악하고 창작에 적용하기에 적합한 영화의 이야기 구성 방법을 찾는 데 있다. 이를 위해 이 연구는 영화의 스토리텔링을 8단계로 구성하고 그 구성의 적절성을 검토하고자 한다. 연구 결과 프롤로그는 인물 소개, 이야기의 배경, 무엇에 관한 이야기인가 등을 소개하는 단계이고, 발단은 주인공에게 일어나는 첫 번째 사건이자 실제로 이야기가 시작되는 단계 이고, 도발적 사건 단계에서는 그 사건으로 인해 주인공 삶의 균형이 파 괴되거나, 새로운 인생을 살게 된다. 전개는 도발적 사건에 대한 주인공 의 대응 단계로 여기서 주인공은 삶의 균형을 회복하거나 주어진 과제를 해결하기 위해 목표를 가지게 되고 추구하는데, 이를 방해하는 적대자나 장애물이 등장하고 주인공의 목표를 저지하려 한다. 위기는 주인공의 목 표 추구가 강력한 방해를 받는 단계로 주인공이 계속해서 목표를 추구하 기 위해서는 무언가를 희생하거나 목표 추구 자체를 포기해야 하는 선택 의 기로에 서게 된다. 절정은 위기 단계에서 주인공의 최종 선택을 보여 주는 단계로 주인공은 적대자나 장애물의 방해에 대해 가장 강력하게 대 응한다. 결말은 주인공의 최종 목표 추구에 대한 성공과 실패 등 완전한 결과를 보여주는 단계이고, 에필로그는 이야기가 끝났음에도 해소되지 못한 감정, 남은 궁금증을 정리하는 단계이다.

This study aims to organize the storytelling of a film into eight stages and examine the appropriateness of the structure. The results of the study showed that the Prologue is the stage that introduces the characters, the setting of the story, and what the story is about. The Beginning is the first event that happens to the protagonist and the stage where the story actually begins, In the Inciting Incident stage, the protagonist’s life is either disrupted by the Inciting Incident, or they take on a new life. Development is the protagonist’s response to the Inciting Incident, where the protagonist has a goal and pursues it to restore balance in their life or solve a given task, and an antagonist or obstacle appears to thwart their goal. Crisis is the stage where the protagonist’s pursuit of the goal is strongly disrupted, and the protagonist is at a crossroads where he or she must either sacrifice something to continue pursuing the goal or give up pursuing the goal altogether. The Climax shows the protagonist’s final choice in the crisis phase, where the protagonist responds most strongly to the antagonist’s or obstacle’s interference. The Ending is the stage that shows the complete outcome of the protagonist’s pursuit of the final goal. The Epilogue is the stage where unresolved emotions and lingering questions are resolved at the end of the story, such as the protagonist’s life after the ending.
