Mediating Effect of Meaning in Life and Productivity on the Relationship between Learning Participation Motivation and Psychological Well-being of Middle-aged Higher Education Learners
본 연구는 중년기 고등교육 학습자의 학습참여 동기가 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영 향을 분석하고, 삶의 의미와 생산성의 매개효과를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 서울시, 인천시, 경기도를 중심으로 학위가 수여되는 고등교육기관에 재학하고 있는 중 년(40세-65세)기 학습자 525명을 대상으로 구조모형을 연구한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중년기 고등교육 학습자의 학습참여 동기는 심리적 안녕감에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 중년기 고등교육 학습자의 삶의 의미는 학습참여 동기와 심리 적 안녕감 간의 관계에서 매개영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 중년기 고등교육 학습자의 생산성은 학습참여 동기와 심리적 안녕감 간의 관계에서 매개영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이런 연구결과를 토대로 하여 중년기 고등교육 학습자의 심리적 안녕감 증진 을 위한 실천 방안을 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of middle-aged higher education learners' learning participation motivation on psychological well-being and to verify the mediating effect of life meaning and productivity. The subjects of this study were 525 middle-aged (40-65 years old) learners enrolled in higher education institutions where degrees are awarded mainly in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi-do. The research results are as follows. First, it was found that middle-aged higher education learners' motivation to participate in learning affects their psychological well-being. Second, the meaning of life of middle-aged higher education learners was found to affect psychological well-being. Third, the productivity of middle-aged higher education learners was found to affect psychological well-being. Fourth, the hypothesis that the meaning of life of middle-aged higher education learners would mediate the relationship between learning participation motivation and psychological well-being was supported. Fifth, the hypothesis that the productivity of middle-aged higher education learners mediates the relationship between learning participation motivation and psychological well-being was supported. Finally, the results verified through this study help that middle-aged people who want to participate in higher education learning become aware of their existence through the meaning of life in the field of learning or counseling. Also it can contribute to multifaceted learning programs and psychological interventions that can enhance psychological well-being by expanding productive activities for the next generation and community.
