        This paper is a quantitative follow-up study of Lee’s (2017) qualitative examination on the usage of Korean human nouns for inanimate/non-human referents. It investigated the usage of “demonstrative + human noun” construct (e.g., yay ‘this child,’ i-chinkwu ‘this friend’) referring to inanimate referents by examining various factors that were chosen based on findings and discussions from Lee (2017) and Kim (2018, 2021). Statistical results conformed to the findings of these earlier studies, showing that human nouns referring to inanimate referents were favored when referents were compared to other things or had concrete concept. In addition, it was also revealed that formality conditioned the realization of human noun usage as human nouns for inanimate/non-human referents were favored in less formal contexts. These results provided a quantitative verification of Lee’s (2017) findings and additional insights to Kim (2018, 2021) along with the usefulness of interdisciplinary approaches to understanding sociolinguistic variables.

        This study investigates the performance characteristics of electrodeposited (ED) silver nanowires (AgNWs) networks as transparent conducting electrodes (TCEs) considering Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) thin-film solar cells. The electrodeposition process uniformly deposits silver onto a network of spin-coated AgNWs, resulting in the enlargement of individual nanowire diameters and the formation of stronger interconnections between the AgNWs. This structural enhancement significantly improves both the electrical conductivity and thermal stability of the ED AgNW networks, making them more efficient and robust for practical applications in solar cells. The study comprehensively examines the optoelectronic properties of the ED AgNW networks, encompassing total and specular transmittance, transmission haze values, and sheet resistance, with varying durations of silver electrodeposition. Additionally, this study presents the current density (J)-voltage (V) characteristics of CIGS thin-film solar cells employing the ED AgNW TCEs, revealing how electrodeposition duration impacts overall device performance. These findings offer valuable insights for optimizing TCEs in not only thin-film solar cells but also in other optoelectronic devices, highlighting the potential for improved long-term stability across various applications without compromising performance.

        Airpower plays a key role in neutralizing military threats and securing victory in wars. This study analyzes newly introduced fighter forces by considering factors like performance, power index, operational environment, airbase capacity, survivability, and sustainment capability to devise an optimal deployment strategy that enhances operational efficiency and effectiveness. Using optimization methods like mixed integer programming (MIP), the study incorporates constraints such as survivability and mission criticality. The focus is on major Air Force operations, including air interdiction, defensive counter-air, close air support, and maritime operations. Experimental results show the proposed model outperforms current deployment plans in both wartime and peacetime in terms of operations and sustainment.

        North Korea has repeatedly provoked using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and the threat posed by UAVs continues to escalate, as evidenced by recent directives involving the use of waste-laden balloons and the development of suicide drones. North Korea’s small UAVs are difficult to detect due to their low radar cross-section (RCS) values, necessitating the efficient deployment and operation of assets for effective response. Against this backdrop, this study aims to predict the infiltration routes of enemy UAVs by considering their perspective, avoiding key facilities and obstacles, and propose deployment strategies to enable rapid detection and response during provocations. Utilizing the Markov Decision Process (MDP) based on previous studies, this research presents a model that reflects both UAV flight characteristics and regional environments. Unlike previous models that designate a single starting point, this study addresses the practical challenge of uncertainty in initial infiltration points by incorporating multiple starting points into the scenarios. By aggregating and integrating the probability maps derived from these variations into a unified map, the model predicts areas with a high likelihood of UAV infiltration over time. Furthermore, based on case studies in the capital region, this research proposes deployment strategies tailored to the specifications of currently known anti-drone integrated systems. These strategies are expected to support military decision-making by enabling the efficient operation of assets in areas with a high probability of UAV infiltration.

        This study proposes a mathematical model to optimize the fighter aircraft-weapon combinations for the Republic of Korea Air Force. With the recent emergence of the population cliff issue due to declining birth rates in Korea, there is an urgent need for efficient weapon system operations in light of decreasing military personnel. This study aims to enhance operational environments and mission efficiency within the military. The objective is to reduce the workload of pilots and maintenance personnel by operating an optimal number of weapons instead of deploying all possible armaments for each aircraft type. To achieve this, various factors for optimizing the fighter-weapon combinations were identified and quantified. A model was then constructed using goal programming, with the objective functions based on the compatibility, Circular Error Probable (CEP), and fire range of the weapons, along with the planned wartime mission-specific weapon ratios for each aircraft type. Experimental analysis of the proposed model indicated a significant increase in mission performance efficiency compared to the existing system in both operational and maintenance aspects. It is hoped that this model will be applied in military settings.

        This study presents an optimization model for the Tactical Information Communication Network (TICN), which is crucial for military operations, focusing on the efficient deployment of communication nodes to create a rapid and robust network while minimizing both distances and the number of nodes required. By integrating mixed integer programming (MIP) with minimum spanning tree (MST) and Steiner Tree algorithms, the model ensures that nodes are connected through the shortest, most efficient routes. Simulations demonstrate the model’s ability to form cohesive networks under constrained resources and time, reducing transmission distances and maintaining network stability. Case studies in a grid environment confirm the system's efficiency, with the model able to redeploy nodes if damaged to preserve network integrity. By utilizing both high- and low-capacity transmission systems, the model ensures reliable communication in challenging terrains like Korea’s mountainous landscape. The findings have critical implications for military communication strategies, especially for multi-domain operations involving air, land, and sea forces, and support decision-making for rapid and efficient deployment of communication networks in unpredictable conditions.

        3D printing using ceramic powder to produce precision ceramic parts has been studied with various additive manufacturing methods. This study analyzed problems occurring in alumina additive manufacturing that uses digital light processing (DLP) as well as methods to address such problems. For efficient analysis, we have classified alumina additive manufacturing into three types according to the driving method of the build platform - lifting type (LT), tilting type (TT) of the vat, and blade movement type (BT). LT had a problem with detachment and cracking of the alumina green body. However, this could be prevented by carefully controlling the cure depth of the suspension slurry and the bonding force between layers and improving the material used for coating the vat. TT, which resulted in non-uniform alumina additive manufacturing, could be improved by modifying the bidirectionality of the axis and the fluidity of the highly viscous alumina suspension slurry. BT resulted in detachment of the specimen as well as non-uniform results, but this could be avoided by shortening the shifting distance of the alumina suspension when it is introduced to the build platform, and enabling effective spreading.

        본 연구는 하버마스와 슈미트의 관점을 대결을 통해 코소보에서의 인 도적 개입 사례를 해석해 보았다. 이는 현재 진행 중인 우크라이나 전쟁 에 특히 관련이 있다는 점에서 시의성을 지닌다. 우크라이나 전쟁은 미 국 패권의 쇠퇴의 단편으로 고려되고 있지만, 그 본질적 요소에 대한 메 타이론적 논의는 아직 부재하다. 사실 미국의 자유주의 규범의 이중성(인 권보호-인권개입) 그리고 인권과 국가 주권(불가침주의) 간의 상호 간섭 은 상당한 긴장을 발생시키고 전환기적 국제질서의 근간을 흔들고 있는 주요한 요소라는 점을 본 연구는 주목한다. 이를 위해 본연구는 현재 진 행되고 있는 우크라이나 전쟁 보다 완결된 사건인 코소보 사례를 통해 논의를 심화해 보았다. 이는 인권 보호를 위한 개입의 딜레마를 보여주 며, 이는 현재 우크라이나에서 벌어지고 있는 사건들과 밀접하게 유사하 다는 점에서 유의미 한 사례다. 많은 학자들은 이러한 사건들을 미국 패 권의 쇠퇴를 나타내는 것으로 해석하지만, 근본적인 문제는 인권과 주권 간, 그리고 개입과 보호 간의 갈등에 있기 때문이다. 더 나아가 이는 미 국 규범에 대한 도전이며 더불어 자유주의 규범의 파탄, 그리고 미국 패 권의 쇠퇴에 관한 담론의 정치철학적 근간을 드러낸다는 점에서 유의하 다. 즉, 인권과 주권의 본질을 미국 패권의 쇠퇴와 다극화의 상승이라는 더 큰 맥락에서 비판적으로 분석하는 것이 중요합니다. 우크라이나 전쟁 의 결과는 여전히 불확실하지만, 이 연구는 새롭게 떠오르는 국제 질서 내에서 추구해야 할 목표를 결정하는 것을 목표로 한다.

        This paper evaluates the use of Factor Analysis (FA) in English education research in Korea and suggests improvements in methodology. A detailed coding protocol was used to review 179 FA cases from 12 major English education journals (2014-2023). The review identified several key issues, including small sample sizes and lenient criteria for sample size selection, insufficient reporting on data appropriateness and normality, confusion between principal component analysis and FA, overreliance on the Eigenvalue > 1 criterion for determining the number of factors, inappropriate factor rotation methods, inconsistency between factor rotation and extraction methods, inadequate reporting on factor loadings and cross loadings criteria, and excessive reliance on SPSS as a statistical tool for FA. This study provides specific guidelines for applying FA appropriately and reporting results accurately.

        Recently, ESG(Environmental, Social, Governance) has been recognized as an important factor for the sustainable growth of companies. However, only 14.5% of food manufacturing companies have adopted ESG management. In particular, small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) face difficulties in implementing ESG management due to a lack of specialized personnel and resource constraints. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of ESG ratings on the management performance of 40 food manufacturing companies listed on the Korea Exchange(KRX) that have been evaluated for ESG. The one-way ANOVA was used and performed on data for 40 food manufacturing companies published by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability(KCGS) in 2023. The results of the analysis showed statistically significant differences in sales (F=12.936, p<0.001) and foreign ownership (F=7.74, p<0.01) based on ESG ratings. Furthermore, Scheffe's post-hoc analysis indicated that the higher the ESG rating and individual scores, the better the overall management performance. Therefore, it is concluded that food manufacturing companies should continuously invest in and focus on ESG management to secure a competitive advantage in the market and achieve sustainable growth.

        Airpower is a crucial force for suppressing military threats and achieving victory in wars. This study evaluates newly introduced fighter forces, considering factors such as fighter performance and power index, operational environment, capacity of each airbase, survivability, and force sustainment capability to determine the optimal deployment plan that maximizes operational effectiveness and efficiency. Research methods include optimization techniques such as MIP(mixed integer programming), allocation problems, and experimental design. This optimal allocation mathematical model is constructed based on various constraints such as survivability, mission criticality, and aircraft's performance data. The scope of the study focuses the fighter force and their operational radius is limited to major Air Force and joint operations, such as air interdiction, defensive counter-air operations, close air support, maritime operations and so on. This study aims to maximize the operational efficiency and effectiveness of fighter aircraft operations. The results of proposed model through experiments showed that it was for superior to the existing deployment plan in terms of operation and sustainment aspects when considering both wartime and peacetime.

        As the number of enlistees decreases due to social changes like declining birth rates, it is necessary to conduct research on the appropriate recalculation of the force that considers the future defense sufficiency and sustainability of the Army. However, existing research has primarily focused on qualitative studies based on comprehensive evaluations and expert opinions, lacking consideration of sustained support activities. Due to these limitations, there is a high possibility of differing opinions depending on perspectives and changes over time. In this study, we propose a quantitative method to calculate the proper personnel by applying system dynamics. For this purpose, we consider a standing army that can ensure the sufficiency of defense between battles over time as an adequate force and use battle damage calculated by wargame simulation as input data. The output data is the number of troops required to support activities, taking into account maintenance time, complexity, and difficulty. This study is the first quantitative attempt to calculate the appropriate standing army to keep the defense sufficiency of the ROK Army in 2040, and it is expected to serve as a cornerstone for adding logical and rational diversity to the qualitative force calculation studies that have been conducted so far.

        본 연구의 목적은 전쟁 후의 정의에 있어 정치적, 윤리적 우선순위는 무엇이 되어야 하는지를 살펴 보는 것에 있다. 본고에서는 이를 위해 정 의 전쟁론에 기반하여 전쟁의 규범성 및 윤리성을 검토함으로써 전쟁 후 의 정의에 필요한 요건들을 살펴보았다. 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁과 이스 라엘의 가자지구 하마스 섬멸 작전은 최근 신냉전 담론을 일반화 시키고 있다. 그러나 역설적이게도 이는 동시에 전쟁 규범의 목소리를 키웠다. 현재 진행되고 있는 전쟁들의 정당성과 전투 가운데 벌어지는 제 사건들 에 대한 윤리적 비난 등이 그것이다. 본 연구는 이러한 혼란 가운데 전 쟁의 규범성에 주목했다. 정의로운 전쟁이 되기 위한 정당성은 어떻게 형성이 되는지, 그리고 이러한 정의전쟁은 구현할 수 있는가? 사실 이는 규범과 국가이성, 합리적 자조(self-help)행위 간 충돌과 그로 인해 폭로 되어진 규범의 이중성은 권력의 불가분성을 설명한다. 그리고 완성은 전 후 정의에 대한 승전국의 선언으로 끝난다. 그러나 역설적이게도 동시에 전쟁 피해자의 피해 복구 또한 전쟁 후 정의로서만 복구 가능하다. 혹자 는 이러한 피해자의 피해 복구는 전쟁범죄에 대한 처벌로만 가능하기 때 문에 승전국은 이를 피해 화해를 앞 세워 전쟁의 정당성을 완성하려 한 다고 본다. 그러나 전후의 정의는 오히려 처벌과 화해가 동시에 양립함 으로써 수립된다고 본 고에서는 주장한다. 이러한 연구는 전쟁이 한참인 가운데 전쟁 이후의 정의로운 평화를 구상하는 편린이 될 수 있다는 점 에서 유의미하다. 더불어 현재 전쟁들에 대한 정당성이 아닌 전후의 정 의를 논한다는 점은 연구의 공헌성을 더 한다.

        This study emphasizes R&D as a management strategy for small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs) to achieve competitive advantage and aims to analyze the impact of innovation resistance, prior knowledge, and technological capability on the intention to adopt R&D. The research targeted 403 decision-makers from SMEs that have not adopted R&D. The analysis revealed the following key findings: As a result, both technical capabilities and prior knowledge had a negative effect on innovation resistance. In addition, technological capabilities and prior knowledge had a positive effect on adoption intention, and innovation resistance had a negative effect on acceptance intention. The indirect effects of technical capabilities and prior knowledge both had a positive impact. In addition, we tested whether dependency on partners and trading organizations that accepted R&D had a moderating effect, but it was not significant. The academic implications of this study provide a detailed analysis of how prior knowledge and technological capability affect innovation resistance in SMEs and verify the intention to adopt R&D. The practical implications suggest a direction for small and medium-sized enterprises to reduce innovation resistance in accepting R&D, and companies need to recognize the suitability of R&D and recognize the importance of technological capabilities and prior knowledge in order to reduce innovation resistance.

        With the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution, changes in the market environment and employment environment are accelerating due to smart technological innovation, and securing professional manpower and developing human resources for domestic small and medium-sized enterprises is becoming very important. Recently, most of the domestic small and medium-sized enterprises are experiencing hiring difficulties, and the development and training of human resources to overcome this is still lacking in systemization, despite much support from the government. This reflects the reality that it is not easy to invest training costs and time to adapt new employees to small and medium-sized businesses. Based on these problems, the work-study parallel project was introduced to cultivate practical talent in small and medium-sized businesses. Work-study parallel training is carried out in the form of mentoring between corporate field teachers and learning workers in actual workplaces, and even if the training is the same, there are differences depending on the learner's attitude, learning motivation, and training achievement. Ego state is a theory that can identify personality types and has the advantage of being able to understand and acknowledge oneself and others and intentionally improve positive factors to induce optimized interpersonal relationships. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to analyze the attitudes of learning workers, who are the actual subjects for improving the performance of work-study parallel projects and establishing a stable settlement within the company, based on their ego status. Through this study, we aim to understand the impact of the personality type of learning workers on training performance and to suggest ways to improve training performance through work-study parallelism.

        This paper aims to investigate how and to what extent ‘critical’ global citizenship is reflected in middle school English textbooks in Korea. Framed within Freire’s concept of critical literacy, the study is concerned with analyzing the written texts in two English textbooks, with a focus on the issue of representations. Using critical content analysis, the research centers on unpacking how race, racism, or racialization, especially in the United States, is represented, and to what extent these representations may be associated with global citizenship education in English language learning. The major findings indicate a notable absence of sufficient sociohistorical and cultural contexts of race in the United States as presented in the concerned English textbooks. Based on the analysis, this paper calls for an expansion of the dimensions of critical global citizenship in English language learning settings, aiming to provide students with broader opportunities to question colonial discourse and challenge issues related to power and systemic oppression.

        We examine a single machine scheduling problem with step-improving jobs in which job processing times decrease step-wisely over time according to their starting times. The objective is to minimize total completion time which is defined as the sum of completion times of jobs. The total completion time is frequently considered as an objective because it is highly related to the total time spent by jobs in the system as well as work-in-progress. Many applications of this problem can be observed in the real world such as data gathering networks, system upgrades or technological shock, and production lines operated with part-time workers in each shift. Our goal is to develop a scheduling algorithm that can provide an optimal solution. For this, we present an efficient branch and bound algorithm with an assignment-based node design and tight lower bounds that can prune branch and bound nodes at early stages and accordingly reduce the computation time. In numerical experiments well designed to consider various scenarios, it is shown that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing method and can solve practical problems within reasonable computation time.

        This study aimed to reconfirm the sex change scale and pattern of Tegillarca granosa. Although the sex ratio (female : male, female proportion) of T. granosa was 1:2.32 (30.2%) at the initial stage (2011) of the study, it was 1:0.94 (51.5%) after one year (2012) in the same population. The increase of the female proportion was greater in the 2+ year class (23.0%) when compared to the 1+ year class (19.2%). Overall, sex change ratio of 37.6% was observed in this population of T. granosa. The sex change ratio of the 2+ year class (39.3%) was higher than that of the 1+ year class (35.3%). And sex change ratio in the males (42.2%) was higher than that in the females (26.9%). The female proportion was the opposite of the result from 2006~2007, and one of the causes was presumed to be the difference in cumulative water temperature during the gonadal inactive stage (winter).
