Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), a predominantly pediatric disease involving uncontrolled proliferation of white blood cells within the bone marrow, is strongly associated with chromosomal translocations. The human chromosomal translocation t(12;21)(p12;q22) is the most frequently encountered chromosomal rearrangement in pediatric B-lineage ALL, and results in fusion of the TEL and RUNX1 genes. The resulting TEL/RUNX1 fusion protein is generally thought to be a transcriptional repressor that interferes with RUNX1-mediated transactivation. We used a luciferase assay system to investigate the effects of TEL/RUNX1 and PEBP2β on RUNX1-mediated transactivation. TEL/RUNX1 blocked the synergistic transactivation achieved by PEBP2β and RUNX1, and coimmunoprecipitation and immunofluorescence analyses showed that PEBP2β interacted with TEL/RUNX1 and was sequestered in the cytoplasm. Theses results suggest that TEL/RUNX1 inhibits RUNX1-mediated transactivtion via cytoplasmic sequestration of coactivator(s) such as PEBP2β.
The aim of present experiment was to examine hatching rate as in vitro indicator of viability of porcine embryos before early stage embryo transfer such as zygotes or 2-cell stage embryos. Cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs) collected from ovaries were matured in North Carolina State University 23 (NCSU-23) containing 10% porcine follicular fluid (pFF), 10 ng/ml epidermal growth factor (EGF), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and 1mg/ml cysteine. After 24 hours, the COCs were transferred to the same medium without hormones. After 65h of maturation, oocytes were exposed to phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 7% ethanol (v/v) for 7 minutes, and then the oocytes were washed and cultured in tissue culture medium (TCM) 199 containing 5 ug/ml cytochalasin B for 5h at in an atmosphere of 5% and 95% air with high humidity. After cytochalasin B treatment, the presumptive parthenotes were cultured in porcine zygote medium (PZM)-5 and cleavage of the parthenotes was assessed at 72h of activation, Normally cleaved parthenotes were cultured for an additional 8 days to evaluate their ability to develop to blastocyst and hatching stages. The fetal bovine serum (FBS) were added at Day 4 or 5 with concentrations of 2.5, 5 or 10%. The blastocyst rates were ranged within in each treatment. However hatching rate was dramatically decreased in non-addition group. In this experiment, embryo viability in female reproductive tract may be estimated before embryo transfer with in vitro culture adding FBS by hatching ability.
Here we analyze if the ionized shells associated with giant HII regions represent the progenitors of the larger neutral hydrogen supershells detected in the Milky Way and other spiral and dwarf irregular galaxies. We calculate the evolutionary tracks that 12 HII shells found by Relano et al. (2005, 2007) would have if they expanded into the interstellar medium because of multiple supernovae explosions occurring inside the cavity. We find, contrary to Relano et al. (2007), that the evolutionary tracks of these HII shells are inconsistent with the observed parameters of the largest and most massive neutral hydrogen supershells. Thus, an additional energy source to the multiple supernovae explosions is required in order to explain the origin of the most massive neutral hydrogen shells.
에너지원으로서 수소를 생산하기 위하여 하니컴 구조를 갖는 모노리스에 10 wt% Ni/CeO2-ZrO2 촉매를 담지한 후 메탄의 수증기 개질 실험을 수행하였다. 다른 CeO2/ZrO2 몰비를 갖는 촉매들 중에서, Ni/CeO2-ZrO2(CeO2/ZrO2=4/1)촉매가 700-800℃에서 높은 메탄의 전환율을 보여 주었다. 10wt% Ni/CeO2-ZrO2 촉매가 담지된 금속 모노리스 촉매체는 높은 열전도도와 비표면적들로 인하여 좋은 촉매 특성을 보여줌을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 금속모노리스 촉매체는 반응물에서 과다의 수증기에 의한 수소 수율에서 크게 영향을 받지 않음을 알 수 있었다. GHSV=30,000h-1, 반응물 비(H2O/CH4=3.0) 반응온도 800℃에서 금속모노리스 촉매체는 98%이상의 메탄의 전환율을 보여주었다. 생성물 가스에서 CO2/CO의 비는 수증기/메탄의 반응물비가 증가할수록 수성가스화 반응에 의하여 증가됨을 알 수 있었다.
전세계 주요 원자력선진국들의 사용후핵연료 처리에 대한 기술 및 정책현황을 알아보고 향후 우리나라의 연구방향을 제시해 보았다. 재처리 정책을 가진 소위 핵연료주기 국가들은 최근 선진핵 연료주기기술에 기초한 새로운 사용후핵 연료 관리정책을 발표하였다. 그 정책은 사용후핵연료 내에 함유된 우라늄 또는 초우란 원소들을 재순환하고 고독성의 방사성 물질 및 장반감기를 가진 물질들을 소멸하거나 단반감기 원소로 변환하는데 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이러한 정책은 원자력의 자원 활용성을 높일 뿐만 아니라, 영구 처분할 고준위폐기물의 양을 감소시켜 궁극적으로 원자력의 지속가능성을 높여 준다. PUREX 방법에 기초한 습식재처리를 우선순위로 선택한 대부분의 국가들은 이 습식방법이 건식방법에 비해 실용화에 앞서 있음을 그 선택 의 근거로 든다. 그러나 습식방법은 건식에 비해 핵확산저항성 측면에서 더욱 민감하다. 왜냐하면 이 습식방법은 약간의 공정수정에 의해 순수 플루토늄을 회수 할 수 있기 때문이다. 반면에 아직까지 실용화 단계까지는 도달해 있지 않지만 고온 용융염을 사용하는 Pyroprocess와 같은 건식처리 방법은 순수한 플루토늄을 회수 할 수 없어서 핵비확산성 측면에서 유리하며, 제4세대 원자로로 고려되는 고속로의 핵연료주기 등에도 여러 가지 이점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 우리나라의 경우 현재 이 Pyroprocess에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다.
In this study, we examined the effects of egg yolk powder added to flour dough on the lipid oxidation of fried products during storage. The flour dough containing the egg yolk powder (0, 5, and 10%) was fried in sunflower oil at 180℃ for 90 sec. The fried products were then stored at 60℃ for 9 days in the dark. The lipid oxidation of the fried products was evaluated by fatty acid composition, peroxide values (POV), conjugated dienoic acid (CDA) contents, and thiobarbituric acid (TBA) values. The color and phospholipids (PL) contents of the fried products were also determined by colorimetry and high performance liquid chromatography, respectively. The addition of egg yolk powder to the dough decreased the POV, CDA contents, and TBA values of the fried products during storage. Although POV, CDA contents, and TBA values significantly increased in the products without egg yolk powder during storage, little change was observed in the products with egg yolk powder. The PL contents remained relatively constant in the fried products added with egg yolk powder during storage. The lightness and greenness of the fried products decreased, and the yellowness increased, as the storage time increased. The results clearly indicate that the addition of egg yolk powder to the dough improved the lipid oxidative stabiliy of the fried products during storage in the dark, and the PL in the egg yolk might have contributed to the improvements in lipid oxidative stability.
The purpose of this study was to assess the test-retest reliability of heart rate (HR) and velocity measurements during peak effort and free treadmill walking tests in older patients with gait-impaired chronic hemiparetic stroke and control group. Twenty-two adults (13 men, 9 women; mean age, 73.7±5.2 yrs) with chronic hemiparetic stroke are the experimental group. Nineteen elderly people (5 men, 14 women; mean age, 72.3±3.5 yrs) were recruited as control group. Patients had mild to moderate chronic hemiparetic gait deficits, making handrail support necessary during treadmill walking. Free and peak effort treadmill walking tests were measured and then repeated at least two days later. Reliability was calculated from HR and walking velocity during free and peak effort treadmill walking test. Among the people who had strokes, HR [ICC(2,1)=.85, r=.86] and velocity [ICC(2,1)=.93, r=.93] were good parameters during free testing. Maximal testing generated good results for HR [ICC(2,1)=.81, r=.82] and velocity [ICC(2,1)=.96, r=.96] with the chronic hemiparetic stroke. In elderly people, HR [ICC(2,1)=.59, r=.62] and velocity [ICC(2,1)=.77, r=.76] were moderately reliable during free testing. Maximal testing produced moderate parameters for HR [ICC(2,1)=.74, r=.74] and velocity [ICC(2,1)=.66, r=.66] in the elderly. This study provides that free and maximal treadmill testing produce highly reliable HR and velocity measurements in adults with chronic hemiplegia using minimal handrail support.
