In reality, the mono-pile foundation system of OWT (Offshore Wind Turbine) can be damaged due to uncertainties and variations in both ocean environmental loadings and/or soil resistance around the foundation. In other words, the uncertainty parameters directly influence the safety, the performance and the structural behavior of a structure. In this study, a laterally loaded mono-pile foundation for OWT structure is considered to examine the degree of influence of uncertainties in the pile-soil system of the structure by an accurate and practical reliability assessment approach.

Probabilistic risk of an offshore wind turbine tower-monopile foundation structure is investigated using in this paper. It can consider both soil-structure-fluid coupled effect in the system and a large amount of variability in both ocean environmental load and soil resistance.

A theoretical formulation is performed to investigate the wave reflection and transmission ratios by a submerged multi-layered rubble-mound breakwater. This theory, which is based on the linear boundary integral method, can be extended to the multi-layered breakwater with arbitrary cross section. In the theoretical analysis evanescent mode wave is not considered, since fictitious open boundaries are put on the places far from the structure. Therefore the mathematical presentation may be simpler, and computational time shorter. The validity of obtained numerical results is demonstrated by comparing with ones of impermeable and permeable breakwaters. Comparison shows resonable agreement. On the basis of these verifications this theory is applied to the one and two-layered submerged rubble-mound breakwater with trapezoidal type.

The present paper discusses the nonlinear wave deformation due to a submerged coastal structure. Theory is based on the frequency-domain method using the third order perturbation and boundary integral method. Theoretical development to the second order perturbation and boundary integral method. Theoretical development to the second order Stokes wave for a bottom-seated submerged breakwater to the sea floor is newly expanded to the third order for a submerged coastal structure shown in Figure 1. Validity is demonstrated by comparing numerical results with the experimental ones of a rectangular air chamber structure, which has the same dimensions as that of this study. Nonlinear waves become larger and larger with wave propagation above the crown of the structure, and are transmitted to the onshore side of the structure. These characteristics are shown greatly as the increment of Ursell number on the structure. The total water profile depends largely on the phase lag among the first, second and third order component waves.

This study has two objectives. One is developing the runoff model for Hoe-Dong Reservoir basin located at the upstream of Su-Young River in Pusan. To develop the runoff model, basic hydrological parameters - curve number to find effective rainfall, and storage coefficient, etc. - should be estimated. In this study, the effective rainfall was calculated by the SCS method, and the storage coefficient used in the Clark watershed routing was cited from the report of P.E.B. The other is the derivation of transfer function for Hoe-Doug Reservoir basin. The linear, discrete, input-output model which contained six parameters was selected, and the parameters were estimated by the least square method and the correlation function method, respectively. Throughout this study, rainfall and flood discharge data were based on the field observation in 1981.8.22 - 8.23 (typhoon Gladys). It was observed that the Clark watershed routing regenerated the flood hydrograph of typhoon Gladys very well, and this fact showed that the estimated hydrological parameters were relatively correct. Also, the calculated hydrograph by the linear, discrete, input-output model showed good agreement with the regenerated hydrograph at Hoe-Dong Dam site, so this model can be applicable to other small urban areas.
