        This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of odor-causing substances in Yeosu national industrial complex, which is designated as an “Odor management Area,” in 2019 and the surrounding area. The sampling sites were divided into three areas: five sites within the industrial complex (Management area), one site within the borders of the complex (Boundary area), and two sites within residential areas (Affected area) affected by odors. The odor compounds were collected from March to September at dawn, daytime, and night. The analytical items were meteorological data, complex odor, legally-designated 22 odor compounds and other VOCs. Complex odor was exceeded on the limit three occasions at two sites in the management area. Ammonia, two types of sulfides, three types of aldehydes, and five VOCs were detected to be within the emission standards. Ammonia was the most frequently detected compounds. Aldehydes and sulfur compounds made a relatively high contribution to the level of odors. Therefore, aldehydes and sulfur compounds should be reduced first in order to prevent odors from occurring.

        Ultrafine copper powder was prepared from slurry with hydrazine, a reductant, under . The influence of various reaction parameters such as temperature, reaction time, molar ratio of , PvP and NaOH to Cu in aqueous solution had been studied on the morphology and powder phase of Cu powders obtained. The production ratio of Cu from CuO was increased with the ratio of and the temperature. When the ratio of was higher than 2.5 and the temperature was higher than , CuO was completely reduced into Cu within 40 min. The crystalline size of Cu obtained became fine as the temperature increase, whereas the aggregation degree of particles was increased with the reaction time.         Monodispersed flaky silver powder was obtained by controlling the ratios of and Agin in a mixed solution of ethylene glycol and ammonia with an addition of PVP. The effects of on its morphology and size were investigated. In molar ratio was found to be an important reaction factor for the nucleation and crystal growth of Ag powder. The synthesis of flaky powder was optimized at over 6 of molar ratio increased, the size of precipitates was increased regardless of the amount of Pt. In the absence of , the morphology and size of reduced Ag powder were found to be irregular in shape in diameter. However, homogenized fine Ag powder was obtained due to heterogeneous nucleation when used as a cat-alyst, and flaky one was synthesized with the addition of Pt over of Pt/Ag.

        This study for preparation of aluminum nitride (AlN) with high purity was carried out by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis method in two different systems, Al-N and Al-N-AlN, with the change of nitrogen gas pressure and dilution factor. On the occasion of Al-N system, unreacted aluminum was detected in the product in spite of high nitrogen pressure, 10 MPa, This may be caused by obstructing nitrogen gas flow to inner part of molten and agglomerate of aluminum, formed in pre-heating zone. In Al-N-AlN system, AlN with a purity of 95% or ever can be prepared in the condition of f 0.5, PN2 1 MPa, and the purity can be elevated to 98% over in the condition of f = 0.7 and PN2 = 10 MPa

        Ni-diamond composite powders with nickel layer of round-top type on the surface of synthetic diamond (140/170 mesh) were prepared by the electroless plating method (EN) with semi-batch reactor. The effects of nickel concentration, feeding rates of reductant, temperature, reaction time and stirring speeds on the weight percentage and morphology of deposited Ni, mean particle size and specific surface area of the composite powders were investigated by Atomic Adsortion Spectrometer, SEM-EDX, PSA and BET. It was found that nucleated Ni-P islands, acted as catalytic sites for further deposition and grown into these relatively thick layers with nodule-type on the surface of diamond by a lateral growth mechanism. The weight percentage of Ni in the composite powder increased with reaction time, feeding rate of reductant and temperature, but decreased with stirring speed. The weight percentage of Ni in Ni-diamond composite powder was 55% at 150 min., 200 rpm and 7 .

        석탄가스화는 청정석탄이용기술의 한 분야로 최근 국제 유가의 급격한 변동과 더불어 매우 각광을 받고 있는 기술이다. 본 연구에서는 중국 내몽고 지역의 저급석탄을 출발물질로 가스화를 위한 광학적 특성, X선 분광특성, X선 회절특성, 광물학적 특성, 건조특성 등을 분석하였다. 분석결과 석탄의 등급은 slagging성과 fouling성이 매우 낮으며 착화온도가 250℃ 정도인 brown coal인 것으로 조사되었고, 석영, 능철석, 점토광물 등이 주요 불순물로 혼재하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 초기 수분이 28%로 매우 높기 때문에 이를 쉽게 건조하기 위한 방법으로 열풍건조와 마이크로웨이브 건조기술을 적용하여 비교한 결과, 마이크로웨이브를 이용한 건조가 좀 더 효과적인 것을 알 수 있었다.
