        This research examines the effect of luxury brand's logo on disparity between explicit and implicit attitudes. Using implicit association test, the results show that there is no correlation between implicit attitude and explicit attitude towrd a luxury product when luxury brand's logo is present (i.e., Prada). In contrast, implicit attitude and explicit attitude are negatively correlated when luxury logo is absent (i.e., Bottega Veneta).

        The effects of seed soaking treatment with the solutions of plant growth regulators IAA, GA3 and BAP on seed germination and shoot and bulb growth of Allium victorialis var. platyphyllum (Korean wild garlic) were determined. A significant variation in the seed germination rate was recorded at all treatments for various soaking periods. Maximum seed germination was obtained when seeds were soaked in IAA or GA3 solution at 200 mg L-1. The MAP treated seeds started to germinate after 3 months. Among treatments, IAA was found to be most effective in improving seed germination, but further seedling growth was not correlated to the soaking time. Seed soaking in IAA or GA3 solution enhanced further growth of seedlings compared with water control treatment. Shoot and bulb growth was highest in GA3 treatments.

        Using a cosmological CDM simulation, we analyze the differences between the widely-used spin pa- rameters suggested by Peebles and Bullock. The dimensionless spin parameter λ proposed by Peebles is theoretically well-justified but includes an annoying term, the potential energy, which cannot be directly obtained from observations and is computationally expensive to calculate in numerical simulations. The Bullock’s spin parameter λ′ avoids this problem assuming the isothermal density profile of a virialized halo in the Newtonian potential model. However, we find that there exists a substantial discrepancy between λ and λ′ depending on the adopted potential model (Newtonian or Plummer) to calculate the halo total energy and that their redshift evolutions differ to each other significantly. Therefore, we introduce a new spin parameter, λ′′, which is simply designed to roughly recover the value of λ but to use the same halo quantities as used in λ′. If the Plummer potential is adopted, the λ′′ is related to the Bullock’s definition as λ′′ = 0.80 × (1 + z)−1/12λ′. Hence, the new spin parameter λ′′ distribution becomes consistent with a log-normal distribution frequently seen for the λ′ while its mean value is much closer to that of λ. On the other hand, in case of the Newtonian potential model, we obtain the relation of λ′′ = (1 + z)−1/8λ′; there is no significant difference at z = 0 as found by others but λ′ becomes more overestimated than λ or λ′′ at higher redshifts. We also investigate the dependence of halo spin parameters on halo mass and redshift. We clearly show that although the λ′ for small-mass halos with Mh < 2× 1012M⊙ seems redshift independent after z = 1, all the spin parameters explored, on the whole, show a stronger correlation with the increasing halo mass at higher redshifts.

        An experiment was conducted to study effects of abomasal infusions of casein, glucose or starch on milk production and blood metabolites in dairy cows. Four lactating cows (559±41.9kg) fitted with 100 mm ruminal cannulas were used in a 4 × 4 Latin square experiment. The cows were given access ad libitum to grass silage and received 6.2 kg dry matter (DM) of a mixture of rapeseed meal (5.3kg/d DM) and barley grain (0.9kg/d DM) as a basal diet (CON), the basal diet plus intra-abomasal infusions of 270 g sodium caseinate (CAS), 300 g of glucose (GLU) or 243 g of starch (STA) starting at 09:00 h each day. Abomasal infusion of different nutrients did not affect (p>0.05) grass silage intake and rumen fermentation parameters (rumen pH, ammonia N and volatile fatty acids). As unexpected, milk yield and composition data did not differ between CON and the treated groups (p>0.05). Most of plasma amino acids were not significantly (p>0.05) affected by the abomasal infusions of CAS, GLU or STA except for histidine, tryptophan and glycine. Although histidine, known as the first limiting amino acid in dairy cows fed grass silage based diets, was significantly (p=0.003) increased by CAS, we failed to result in a clear increase in milk yield and protein yield. This discrepancy between plasma AA profiles and milk production could be presumably explained by relatively high concentration of total amino acids in the present study (2,039μmol/l).

        The demand of energy is increasing around the world due to the high dependency of our society on energy. So the worldwide recognition of the limited supply of fuels has led to a large scale effort in search of alternative energy sources. Biodiesel has been considered as an alternative fuel to the petroleum diesel in compression ignition engines and is receiving more and more attention. Biodiesel can be obtained by the transesterification of methanol with triglycerides, with glycerin as by- product. This paper introduces the transesterification reaction of lard oil with methanol in the presence of hexane as solvent and potassium hydroxides as catalyst. Different from other researches, a new method to analyze the reaction process in this research was developed by starting with the by-product, crude glycerin. This new method was verified and the effects of various parameters such as solvent, molar ratio of methanol to oil (3:1-12:1), catalyst concentration (0.5-4 wt%) on the traneseterification process were investigated. Molar ratio of methanol to oil was optimized and identified to be 8:1, catalyst concentration of 2 wt% with hexane as solvent and at a temperature of 57℃ were found to be optimum for the reactions. Under this condition for 4 hours, the production yield can be 96.95%.

        An efficient method for the rapid micropropagation of Camptotheca acuminata from axillary buds was established by application of various plant growth regulators. Among various cytokinins, 0.5 mg L-1 BA showed the best performance on shoot multiplication, number average multiple shoots up to 10.8. The propagated shoot cuttings in vitro were elongated on NN basal medium without plant growth regulators. The secondary multiple shoots were induced at the site of initially induced buds. Rooting was induced directly near the base of the shoot on half-strength NN medium containing 0.5 mg L-1 of IBA, whereas high concentration of 1.0 mg L-1 IBA could induce callus at the base of the shoot. The camptothecin content, anticancer compound of the micropropagated plants was contained in various tissues. Camptothecin contents were 1.8 and 2.5 mg g-1 dry weight in stems from propagated in vitro and mother plant, respectively. This result may be used to develop strategies for large-scale propagation of elite C. acuminata trees.

        본 논문에서는 JPEG 코딩에 따른 잡음에 대한 효과적인 저감 방법을 제안한다. JPEG 코딩에 의한 대표적인 잡음으로는 블록 잡음과 링깅 잡음을 들 수 있다. 이와 같은 잡음들을 저감하기 위한 다양한 방법들이 제안된 바 있다. 하지만, 대부분의 기존 방법들은 영상 내부의 모든 블록을 처리함에 따라 과도한블러링 뿐만 아니라 처리시간의 증가와 메모리 양의 증가를 초래한다. 본 논문에서는잡음의 검출과 저감을 위한 효과적인 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법에서는 모든 블록을 사용하지 않기 때문에 계산량 및 메모리 양을 감소시킨다. 검출 과정은 영상의 DCT 계수만을 사용하여 주파수 영역에서 수행된다. 다양한 실험이 수행되었으며 기존의 방법의 결과와 비교하였다. 실험 결과 제안하는 방법의 성능을 확인할 수 있었다.

        A survey project of TRAO with the fifteen beam array receiver system is presented. A multibeam array receiver system has been purchased from FCRAO, and is being installed on TRAO 14m telescope. The target region of the survey is from ι=120° ~137°, b=-1°~+1°, and velocity resolution would be 1 km/sec after smoothing from the original resolution of 0.64km s-1in the transition of J = 1-0 of 13CO The survey region is a part of the 12CO Outer Galaxy Survey(OGS), and would be an extension of the Bell Laboratories 13CO Galactic Plane Survey. By combining with the existing 12CO database of the Outer Galaxy Survey, we will derive physical properties of identified molecular clouds and will conduct and statistical analysis of the Outer Galalxy molecular clouds. Reduction process and analysis methods will be introduced.
