It is universally accepted that school education aims at transmitting academic knowledge. However, knowledge transmission only may not shape future citizens with international competitiveness. Enlightened by hot spots and trends of American education, several opinions on transcending knowledge transmission and shaping future citizens are stated in this paper.

Danzhou voicing, being sung in Danzhou dialects, is a kind of folk music of the Han nationality, which has been gradually developed and changed into a folk rhyme with obvious local colour based on Danzhou folk song. It is an inevitable product of local history, economy and culture developed into a certain period. Danzhou voicing broke through the fixed tonal pattern, style and structure of folk song and developed into a new form of folk music,and its newly music form helped the local male and female youth vividly convey their love to each other while they are singing folk songs.
