        Ovarian cancer is the most lethal world-wide gynecological disease among women due to the lack of molecular biomarkers to diagnose the disease at an early stage. In addition, there are few well established relevant animal models for research on human ovarian cancer. For instance, rodent models have been established through highly specialized genetic manipulations, but they are not an excellent model for human ovarian cancer because histological features are not comparable to those of women, mice have a low incidence of tumorigenesis, and they experience a protracted period of tumor development. However, the laying hen is a unique and highly relevant animal model for research on human ovarian cancer because they spontaneously develop epithelial cell-derived ovarian cancer (EOC) as occurs in women. Our research group has identified common histological and physiological aspects of ovarian tumors from women and laying hens, and we have provided evidence for several potential biomarkers to detect, monitor and target for treatment of human ovarian cancers based on the use of both genetic and epigenetic factors. Therefore, this review focuses on ovarian cancer of laying hens and relevant regulatory mechanisms, based on genetic and epigenetic aspects of the disease in order to provide new information and to highlight the advantages of the laying hen model for research in ovarian carcinogenesis.

        Thi s study investigated, using think-aloud protocol, what L2 learners focus on, notice and uptake in a series of English writing task and how this cognitive process is affected by their English proficiency. Nine Korean middle school students were engaged in a three-stage writing task, which consisted of the compos ing stage, the stage of comparing their own text with a reformulated version, and the revising stage. During the first two stages, the students were asked to think out loud in Korean. The results show that in the composing stage the high level students tended to focus on grammatical forms while the low level groups more concentrated on lexical items. When reformulations were provided, the students well noticed the diffe rences between their original texts and the reformulated ones but a majority of their noticing remained simple noticing without a proper reason or ended up with wrong inferences. Thi s overall shallow and incorrect process at the comparing stage resulted in re latively little changes in the revising stage. These fi ndings suggest that not only the quantity but also the quality of noticing is important for acquisition and more guidance and he lp should be provided for low level learners to benefit from writing and feedback.

        본 연구는 제주특산식물인 좀향유의 현지 내・외 보존을 위한 기초 연구로서 증식체계를 마련하고 전처리제 처리에 따른 발 근 특성과 시비에 따른 유묘의 생장 효과를 등을 알아보았다. 온 실과 밀폐상의 온습도 조사결과 평균 온도는 비슷하였으나 공 중 습도는 온실보다 밀폐상이 높은 습도를 유지하였으며, 좀향 유 삽목 후 온실은 10일, 밀폐상은 7일만에 최초 발근을 확인하 여 밀폐상의 빠른 발근율을 보였으며 온실과 밀폐상에서의 생 존율, 발근율, 뿌리수 등은 근소하게 밀폐상이 높게 조사되어 온실보다 밀폐상이 효과적이었다. 발근억제물질 제거를 위한 전 처리제 처리는 AgNO3 77.5%를 제외한 다른 처리구에서 95% 이 상의 높은 발근율로 조사되어 좀향유의 경우 발근억제 물질은 적은 것으로 판단된다. 유묘의 용기별 질소 시비량 및 Osmocote 시비시험 결과 시비량과 용기의 조건에 따라 생존율과 생장 등 에 차이를 보였다. 배양판에서 완효성 비료인 Osmocote를 시비 한 결과 생존율, 지상부, 지하부 생장 등이 가장 양호하여 좀향 유의 유묘 증식을 위해서는 Osmocote 시비가 바람직 할 것으로 판단된다.
