        동물의 종 유지에 있어서 교미행동은 매우 중요한 위치를 차지함. 교미과정에서 수컷의 경우 모든 암컷에 대해 성행동을 보이는반면, 암컷은 가장 적절한 교미의 시기를 정하며, 적절한 수컷을 선택하고 교미행동을 보이기 때문에 암컷의 교미행동을 유도하는 과정은 생물학에서 매우 중요한 의미를 지님. 본 연구에서는 초파리 (Drosophila melanogaster) 전자현미경자료와 총신경망분석 (Connectomics)을 이용하여 초파리 뇌에서 암컷의 교미행동을 조절하는 것으로 알려진 pC1신경의 하부신경 pC1b,c가 성적 성숙과정에서 교미를 하고자 하는 욕구 (sexual drive)를 증가시키는 기능을 하는 것을 처음으로 밝힘. 본 연구에서는 처음으로 pC1b,c 신경 내의 cAMP 수준이 교미의 욕구변화를 보여주는 중요한 물질이라는 것을 밝혔고 cAMP의 수준이 오르기 위해서는 신경펩티 드인 Dh44와 그 수용체 GPCR인 Dh44R1과 Dh44R2가 필요하다는 것을 확인함. 또한 cAMP의 변화는 신경내의 CREBB를 통하여 하위 유전자인 pyx (pyrexia)의 발현을 유도한다는 것을 밝힘. 본 연구로 종 유지 메커니즘을 좀 더 이해할 수 있음.

        The objective of this study was to investigate the quality characteristics of emulsion-type pork sausage manufactured with various levels of Eutrema Japonicum (E. Japonicum)(1, 2, and 3%). The crude fat contents of samples containing 2 and 3% E. Japonicum were 27.46-28.38%, significantly higher than those in the control (p<0.05). The cooking yields samples containing 1 and 2% E. Japonicum were 74.99-75.54%, significantly higher than those in the control (p<0.05). Water holding capacities (WHC) of the samples containing 1% and 2% E. Japonicum were 92.22-92.26% significantly higher than those in the control (p<0.05). while the water losses of sample containing 1% E. Japonicum group was 16.41%, significantly lower than those in the control (p<0.05). And fat losses samples containing 1, 2, and 3% E. Japonicum were 0.03-0.64% significantly lower than those in the control (p<0.05) in emulsion stability. Additionally, viscosity increased with increasing E. Japonicum concentration of E. Japonicum. Texture profile analysis (TPA) showed increased with increasing E. Japonicum concentration for hardness, springiness, cohesiveness, gumminess, chewiness. Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) in the samples containing 2 and 3% E. Japonicum were 0.64-0.69 mg MDA/kg significantly lower than those in the control and 1% E. Japonicum group (p<0.05). These results indicate that emulsion-type pork sausage containing 2% E. Japonicum was increasing WHC, emulsion stability, cooking yield, and was decreasing TBARS compared to other E. Japonicum groups. Therefore, emulsion-type pork sausage containing 2% E. Japonicum is high qualified.

        Internal sperm storage after mating is important for insect reproduction, because it permits delayed fertilisation, and post-copulatory mate choice in polyandrous females. The polyandry is common in many animal taxa including insects, because it increases female fitness by reducing the risk of infertility and providing opportunities for sperm competition and choice. The reproductive success of males, on the other hand, often depends upon avoidance of sperm competition by preventing mated females from copulating and receiving sperm from other male suitors. A widespread strategy used by males is the use of the male seminal fluid proteins (SFPs) that form the mating plug and alter female behaviors, for example by suppressing mating receptivity and elevating egg-laying. Under these circumstances, females are expected to evolve mechanism(s) to control exposure to the male SFPs in order to maximize fitness by balancing the positive and negative impacts of polyandry. Here, we discover that Drosophila melanogaster females eject male ejaculates 1-6 h after mating with a stereotypic behaviour, and that this is regulated by a brain neuropeptide pathway composed of diuretic hormone 44 (Dh44), and its receptor Dh44R1. We showed that suppressing Dh44 or Dh44R1 signals in the brain expedites sperm ejection, whereas enhancing Dh44 or Dh44R1 signals delays sperm ejection. This study uncovers a molecular mechanism by which females can influence sperm competition and selection, and counter actively the negative impact of polyandry.

        Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and probiotics have mostly consumed as dairy products such as city milk, fermented drinking yogurt and stirred yogurt, and LAB and probiotics have become popular to contribute to the flavor, taste, or preservation of food. In this study the effects of various milk products on the physicochemical properties of pork loin were determined. Pork loin samples were marinated in city milk, drinking yogurt and stirred yogurt for 24 hours, and were compared with the raw pork loin (control). Proximate, pH, color, shear force, electronic nose, and sensory evaluation were investigated quality properties of pork loin. The pre- and post- cooking pH was lowest in pork loin marinated in stirred yogurt(p <0.05). The pre-cooking lightness was significantly higher in pork loin marinated in city milk(p<0.05). The redness of pork loin marinated in stirred yogurt and drinking yogurt were significantly higher(p <0.05), but the shear force of pork loin marinated in stirred yogurt was significantly lower(P<0.05). The sensory evaluation of pork loin marinated in stirred yogurt were the highest(p<0.05). These results showed that various milk product marinating could be used to improve the quality characteristics and flavor of pork loin.

        Redevelopment of the domestic small fishing ports is being started in earnest by applying the environmentally friendly technology in order to attract tourists. For the purpose of improving water quality in the harbor, selection of breakwater type might have the priority to secure calmness and stability. Therefore, this study is to determine the hydraulic characteristics of reflective ratio, installation efficiency and stability of the special type of blocks through the hydraulic model experiment. The results were introduced to analyze for the effect of infield construction work through numerical analysis. Gujora, a small fishing port in southern Korea, is affected by the waves of SSE, S, SSW direction and strong tidal currents. The results of applying cylindrical slit block show that stability of the blocks and harbor calmness were secured. Considering that the pass rate of a long period wave is still excellent, the primary objective of wave control and the secondary objective of improving water exchange are satisfied simultaneously.

        When we consider to develop a new harbor, the most important factor, we think, is the lowest water depth of waterway and approaching channel for safe navigation of vessel. The existing harbors have been being dredged to meet the international trend of jumbo sized vessels by adopting the new design criteria. As the dredged materials over the expected at the design level were common and there are still lack of land based reclamation area, we have no choice to discharge the dredged materials in open sea area In this study, we analysed the behavior of discharged materials at the dumping area of offshore, which were collected from the dredging work at the waterway in Busan New Port. We measured the tidal currents and analyzed the waters of dumping site after the dumping work. These were used to evaluate the numerical models. Suspended Solids(SS) were introduced to the diffusion model. Because of the characteristic of the dumping site, the speed of initial diffusion and settle down of the discharged materials was so fast. Therefore, we believe that the dumped materials do not cause a significant impact to the marine environment.
