Extracellular traps (ETs), primarily composed of DNA and antibacterial peptides, are mainly secreted by neutrophils to inhibit pathogen spread and eliminate microorganisms. Recent reports suggest that microglia can also secrete ETs, and these microglial ETs are associated with various neurological conditions, including nerve injury, tumor microenvironment, and ischemic stroke. However, the components and functions of microglial ETs remain underexplored. Secretagogin (Scgn), a calcium-sensor protein, plays a crucial role in the release of peptide hormones, such as insulin, in endocrine cells; however, its function in immune cells, including microglia, is not well understood. Our study demonstrated that Scgn deficiency can lead to the formation of abnormal ETs. We hypothesized that this may involve the c-Jun N-terminal kinase-myeloperoxidase pathway and autophagy.

Most caterpillars, the larvae of butterflies and moths(Lepidoptera), are herbivorous. Even though their major role in the ecosystem, details of biology are poorly known for most species. This study has been carried out to identify larvae and to acquire useful biological information of insect larvae through rearing from 1997 to 2015 in HECRI(Holoce Ecosystem Conservation Research Institution). From 2012, 2013, 2014 we are carrying out ‘Larvae Identification and Specimen Security of Primary Endemic Moths in Korea Peninsula through Rearing’ supported by National Institute of Biological Resources(NIBR). Of these this study is the list about special caterpillars feeding on the foliage wild peach (Prunus spp.) Total 209 species belonging to 15 families were collected and 52 species belonging to 13 families identified. Among them wild peach dependent monophagous caterpillars are 17 species belonging to 9 families, oligophagous 1 species belonging to 1 families and polyphagous 34 species belonging to 9 families. The dominant family is Geometridae(65 species), second is Noctuidae(57 species) and followed by Pyralidae(21 species).

Background : The purpose of this study was to evaluate methods to high quality food ramie rice cake, thereby increasing farm income. This study investigated the effects of different Split Application and Adapted Fertilizer Culture for Stable Production with Edible Leaf in Ramie (Boehmeria nivea L.). Methods and Results : Method of fertilizer application were conducted under three condition compose to standard application (N-P-K-Compost applied at 27-9-27-1,500 ㎏․ 10 a−1), 25% increased application (N-P-K-Compost applied at 34-11-34-1,500 ㎏․10 a−1), 50% increased application (N-P-K-Compost applied at 41-14-41-1,500 ㎏․ 10 a−1) cultivation. Compost and fused phosphate applied at 100% of basal fertilizer in March 25. The split application level of standard application (N-K) applied at 50% of basal fertilizer in March 25, 50% of top dressing were five times application (N-K) in May 4, July 5, September 5, October 5, 20% respectively. Transplanting with Yeongkwang varieties in April 12 by growing pot seedling for 35 days in 2011. Planting density were spaced 60 ㎝ apart in rows 25 ㎝ apart with rice straw cutting covered open cultivation. Plot design randomized block 3 repetition. Conclusion : Organic matter, available phosphate, K2O, CaO, and MgO of soil increased in all plots with the addition of fertilizers culture, specifically in 25% and 50% increased application. Growth characteristics by 50% of top dressing were five times application (N-K) in May 4, July 5, September 5, October 5, compared to standard application (N-K) applied at 100% basal fertilizer, aerial part as a result were so many such amount of growth as number of branch and leaf per plant, etc., Length, width of leaf and leaf colorimetry of aboveground part growth increment rising highest. Green leaf yields compared to standard fertilizer 100% application (1,344 kg․ 10 a−1). 25% and 50% increased application (N-K) applied at 50% basal fertilizer, 50% of top dressing were five times application increased by 9%, 17%. respectively.

Hepatocyte-like cells (HLCs) derived from human pluripotent stem cells have received extensive attention in the development of drug screening and toxicity testing. However, it has been reported that stem cell-derived HLCs showed hepatic functions that were too limited to be of use in drug screening and toxicity testing, possibly due to the lack of sufficient intercellular communication under conventional two-dimensional (2D) culture conditions. Therefore, a 3D differentiation system may overcome the in vitro limitation of 2D culture to produce stem cell-derived hepatocytes with mature metabolic functions. In this study, the feasibility of using a silicone-based spherofilm, specifically designed to produce spherical cell clusters, to generate uniformly sized 3D hepatic spheroids from hESCs was investigated. Hepatic spheroids generated on the spherofilm showed more homogenous size and shape than those generated in conventional low-attachment suspension culture dishes. Results of immunohistochemical analysis showed that expression of the mature hepatic marker albumin (ALB) increased over time during the hepatic maturation process. Furthermore, the 3D culture system mimicked the in vivo 3D microenvironment. Laminin, which is an important component of hepatic ECM, was expressed in hepatic spheroids. The results of immunohistochemical analysis indicated that the 3D culture environment is capable of generating an in vivo-like microenvironment. In addition, quantitative PCR analysis showed that the mature hepatic marker ALB and cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes CYP3A4 and CYP3A7 were expressed at higher levels in 3D culture than in 2D culture. This indicates that the 3D culture system is suitable for hepatic maturation and that our size-controlled 3D culture conditions might accelerate hepatic function. These results suggest that 3D hepatic spheroids significantly enhance metabolic maturation of hepatocytes derived from hESCs

This study reviews what previous analyses have suggested for /l/-related processes in Korean, pointing out their weak- nesses. It is shown that previous analyses framed in the standard generative phonology and feature geometry with underspecification lose generality in explanation by treating each process separately and that they cannot account for why /l/-nasalization takes place unilaterally from right to left. Lee (2012), a constraint-based analysis, is examined and criticized since it needs awkward and unnecessary assumptions centering on an underlying repre- sentation of /l/. Assuming /l/ as linked with a mora and overlapped with /n/ captures close interactions between /l/ and /n/ but leaves many questions unsolved. In his analysis, the behavior of /l/ in compounds needs to include a morpheme boundary and constraint re-ranking at once. The present study overcomes the weaknesses of previous analyses by resorting to constraints based on intersyllabic sonority difference. These constraints in combination with other faithfulness constraints solve the directionality problem and provide generality in explanation by treating all /l/-related processes at one fell swoop with no reference to constraint re-ranking in compounds.
