        In Korea, ecological research on the goral is underway to restore and increase population size of these ungulates, but clinical research on gorals species is still in its infancy. Owing to the nature of the gorals’ habitat, several animals live together within limited areas; so, the risk of parasitic infection is very high. In this study, we performed physical examination of 17 gorals undergoing breeding and restoration at the Korean Goral Restoration Center. Weight, ear height, horn length, withers height of the anthropometric data of this study were no differences from other researchers. Blood samples from each species were analyzed. There was no significant difference among individuals in terms each value examined, although some hematological and biochemical values, such as neutrophils, lymphocytes, glucose and amylase showed differences among individuals. The average values of blood tests in gorals ware lower in lymphocytes, blood urea nitrogen, and calcium than in livestock goats, and hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, and glucose were higher in livestock. Helminth eggs were detected in 15 out of 17 gorals by microscopic examination of their fecal samples, and Eimeria spp. and Strongyloides spp. were detected in all the gorals. However, there may be cases of death due to diarrhea, which may lead to a decrease in growth and production. Therefore, proper prevention and treatment are needed. These results may serve as an important reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of gorals. This information helps further understand the current health status of these species and may contribute to a more systematic restoration of the gorals.

        A blood test is a laboratory analysis performed on a blood sample that is usually extracted from a vein in the arm using a needle, or via fingerprick. They are used to determine physiological and biochemical states, such as disease, mineral contents, drug effectiveness, and organ function. Although the term blood test is used, most routine tests (except for most haematology) are done on plasma or serum, instead of blood cells. Main advantage of using saliva in diagnostics is easy and non invasive sample taking compared to peripheral blood. According to the study published, saliva contains more than 20 percent of the proteins found in blood. The purpose of present study is to compare biochemical enzymes in saliva and in blood serum and to evaluate the usefulness of saliva specimens instead of blood in dental clinic. The saliva from 215 healthy over 50 years of aged people lived in Dong-gu district, Gwangu city was collected and the analysis was performed by six enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA). ELISA results were compared with blood chemistry results. The values or patterns on Alanine Aminotransperase (ALT), Aspartate Aminotransperase (AST), Cholesterol and Triglyceride in saliva were not correlated with those in blood serum. However, Albumine and γ-glutamyl transpeptidase (γ-GTP) were followed the positive relationship with blood chemistry. These result showed that detection and identification of Albumine and γ-GTP level could be established by saliva ELISA analysis, so that ELISA assay on saliva could be useful alternative to serum testing.

        본 연구는 혈액 검사 결과인 전립선특이항원(PSA) 및 전립선특이항원밀도 (PSAD), 전립선 경직장 초음 파 (TRUS)를 이용한 전립선 전체용적 (TPV), 나이등 변수와 전립선이행대용적 (PTZV)과 상관관계를 연구 하여 임상적 지표로 활용하고자 한다. 2007년 6월부터 2016년 4월 까지 전립선에 대한 치료력이 없는 건강 한 30대 성인 남성으로 TRUS와 PSA, PSAD 혈액 검사를 실시한 총 68명을 후향적으로 분석하였다. 초음파 장비는 Siemens Acuson sequoia 512)와 탐촉자 Siemens EC~10C5 Endocavitary를 이용하였다. 통계 처리의 경 우, SPSS 18.0 각 변수와 표준 편차의 평균을 계산하는 데 사용하고, 피어슨 상관관계 분석을 수행 하였다. 변수들의 기술 통계량은 TPV; 24.27±6.60, PTZV; 6.99 ±6.60, PSA; 2.12±2.76와 PSAD; 0.281±0.1이고. 전립선 이행용적과 변수의 상관 계수는 PSAD; 0.831, TPV; 0.707, 나이; 0.398, 그리고 PSA; 0.118이었다. PSA 및 연령과의 양의 크기의 상관관계지만, PSAD, TPV가 높은 상관관계를 보였다. 따라서, 기저 질환이 없는 30 대 남성의 PTZV는 TPV와 PSAD를 통해 예측할 수 있다.
