        배추나비고치벌(Cotesia glomerata L.)은 배추흰나비(Artogeia rapae L.)와 배추좀나방(Plutella xylostella L.) 유충을 공격하는 내부기생 천적으로, 여름배추를 주로 생산하는 고랭지 채소밭에서 배추흰나비와 배추좀나방을 동시에 생물적 방제하기 위한 천적자원으로서 활용 가능성이 높다. 배추나비고치벌에 대한 온도별 생육반응과 성비, 먹이에 따른 수명을 실험실내에서 조사한 결과, 배추나비고치벌의 알-유충 기간 및 번데기 기간은 20℃에서 각각 12.1 ± 2.1일, 6.4 ± 1.8일이었으며, 생육온도가 높아질수록 짧아지는 경향을 보였다. 이를 바탕으로 산출한 알-유충 및 번데기 시기의 발육영점온도는 각각 7.7℃, 8.5℃였다. 여러 상이한 온도에서 사육한 배추나비고치벌 우화성충의 암수를 조사한 결과, 15℃에 서 61.0 ± 4.5%, 20℃에서 44.2 ± 1.0%, 25℃에서 39.0 ± 2.3%의 성비를 보여 온도가 낮아질수록 암컷의 발생률이 높아지는 경향을 보였다. 배추나비고치벌 성충에 10% 설탕액을 급여한 결과 수명은 20.4 ± 0.2일이었으며, 아무것도 급여하지 않은 경우는 3.6 ± 0.1일이었다. 실내 대량 사육을 통해 확보한 배추나비고치벌 성충을 2007년부터 2018년까지 매년 8월 초에 고랭지 배추밭에 방사하고 노지 기생률을 조사하였다. 그 결과 햇수가 지날수록 노지 기생률이 증가하는 것을 확인하였다(Y=0.2696X+2.8633, R2=0.3994). 가장 높은 기생률을 보인 연도는 2013년의 7.6%이었고, 가장 최근인 2018년에는 6.5%의 기생률을 나타내었다.

        Cotesia Cameron is a cosmopolitan genus of the subfamily Microgastrinae. This genus comprises more than hundreds of species (Whitfield et al., 2009). The members of the genus Cotesia parasites on larvae of Macrolepidoptera: Noctuidae, Geometridae and Saturniidae (Achterberg & Polaszek, 1996; Whitfield et al., 2009). Previously, 33 Korean species of the genus have been investigated by several researchers (Kim, 1963; 1970; Ku et al., 2001; Papp, 1974; 1990; 2003). In this study, Cotesia urabae is reported for the first time from Korea. Diagnosis, distribution, and host information are provided.

        Drosophila suzukii (Matsumura), commonly called the Spotted Wing Drosophila (SWD), originally from South Asia, is a major pest in orchards. Recently, chemical control was applied to prevent the SWD in cultivated fields, but it was not much effective because D. suzukii tended to avoid place where insecticide was treated, to reproduce in wild field, and then to recolonize neighboring cultivated fields. In contrast to chemical control, biological control can reduce these problems by using natural enemies who attack the D. suzukii. Some species of genus Asobara (Hymenoptera; Braconidae; Alysiinae) are parasitoids of Drosophila, and, In South Korea, there are 3 species recorded parasitizing in D. suzukii. In this study, we used morphological characters and mitochondrial COI gene to identify Asobara species. As a result, one species was found as a possible parasitoid of D. suzukii.

        The genus Aphidius is the most commercially available species in greenhouse control, especially for aphids. Although twelve species were recorded in Korea, we collected 7 species including 2 unrecorded and 1 unidentified species. We aligned 16 sequences, except for duplicates, from 31 individuals of 14 species including GenBank sequences, and made phylogenetic tree based on Neighbor-Joining method. Surprisingly, 3 species were clustered into a clade and some species was not monophyletic. In this study, we reconstructed phylogenetic tree of Korean Aphidius species using COI marker, and compared them with GenBank sequences. In addition, we try to experiment a new marker and check its ability of discrimination.

        One species of the genus Ephedrus Haliday, 1833 (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Aphidinae) is recognized in this study. The Ephedrus genus is known to 72 species worldwide. Of these, 16 species were reported in Korea. This genus is parasitic to groups of aphids and their relatives. Additionally, this genus is very similar to genus Toxares Haliday, 1840 in the morphology, but there is no difficulty in sympathy because there are certain morphological differences. In this study, Ephedrus blattnyi Starý, 1973 is recognized for the first time in South Korea. Information on this species has not been widely known yet. Descriptions, diagnosis distribution and illustration are provided.

        One species of the genus Aphidius (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Aphidinae) is recognized in this study. The genus Aphidius is a large braconid group distributed in the European, Palaearctic and Oriental regions, which includes currently 61 species in South Korea. This genus mainly parasitizes aphids. In this study, Aphidius transcaspicus Telenga, 1958 is recognized for the first time in South Korea. Historically, Aphidius transcaspicus is complexed with Aphidius collemani species complex. Descriptions, diagnosis distribution and illustration are provided.

        Lysiphlebus orientalis is previously recorded in 2010, which is a more recently recorded than Lysiphlebia japonica. Host range of Lysiphlebus orientalis range is narrow, while that of Lysiphlebia japonica is very broad. Although two species, Lysiphlebus orientalis and Lysiphlebia japonica, are belonged to different genus, respectively, they are morphologically similar each other, which make us confused. Therefore, we have to identify these two cryptic species using COI DNA barcode. We used the ‘NCBI-BLAST (National center for biotechnology information-Basic Local Alignment Search Tool)’ to perform COI DNA barcode identification, and introduce preliminary results in this presentation.

        The tribe Centistini is a cosmopolitan group, comprising 94 species (Yu et al., 2016; Aguirre et al., 2017). Among them 44 species have been known from the East Palaearctic region. Centistini are known to be solitary koinobiont endoparasitoids of final instar larvae (rarely) and Coleopteran adults, particularly the families Anthicidae, Carabidae, Chrysomelidae, Coccinellidae, Curculionidae, and Staphylinidae (Loan, 1964; 1972; Shaw, 1985; Chen and Achterberg, 1997). Previously, 16 species of 1 genera of tribe Centistini, have been recorded from Korea. In the present study, a total 19 species of 2 genera of the subfamily Euphorinae is recognized from Korea. Among them, three species, Allurus liturature (Haliday), Centistes minutus Chen & Achterberg and C. sylvicola Belokobylskij are reported for the first time from Korea.

Diagnosis and photographs are provided for each species.

        The genus Aphidius is one of the largest groups of aphid parasitoids. Aphidius colemani is most common and commercially available for the aphid control. Recently, the mummies of Rhopalosiphum padi were collected from barley banker plants in Yecheon. Nucleotide sequence analysis identified its parasitoid as A. transcaspicus, which is morphologically similar to A. colemani. Interspecific variation of both COI and ITS2 between two species was 5.13 and 10.73%, respectively. Intraspecific variations of both COI and ITS2 of A. transcaspicus was 1.85 and 4.96%, respectively. We assume the barley banker plants for A. colemani were contaminated by A. transcaspicus. Thus, precise identification of natural enemies is required for more effective pest control.
