        Carbon nanotube (CNT) structures reported in the literature often have a black color with low reflectance and matt surface appearance. Only a few papers reported the high reflectance and glossy appearance of the CNT surface on a substrate. To our knowledge, no one has reported the glossy appearance of freestanding CNT. Herein, we have successfully fabricated a freestanding multi-walled CNT sheet with a glossy or mirror-like surface appearance. Raman spectroscopy confirmed that both matt and glossy freestanding CNT sheets have the same chemical composition. We found that the glossy freestanding CNT sheet has a relatively flat surface morphology compared to matt freestanding CNT sheet, as seen in the atomic force microscopy results. We attributed the glossy appearance due to a relatively flat surface morphology of the freestanding CNT sheet.

        Owing to their scalability, flexible operation, and long cycle life, vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFBs) have gained immense attention over the past few years. However, the VRFBs suffer from significant polarization, which decreases their cell efficiency. The activation polarization occurring during vanadium redox reactions greatly affects the overall performance of VRFBs. Therefore, it is imperative to develop electrodes with numerous catalytic sites and a long cycle life. In this study, we synthesized heteroatom-rich carbon-based freestanding papers (H-CFPs) by a facile dispersion and filtration process. The H-CFPs exhibited high specific surface area (~820 m2 g–1) along with a number of redox-active heteroatoms (such as oxygen and nitrogen) and showed high catalytic activity for vanadium redox reactions. The H-CFP electrodes showed excellent electrochemical performance. They showed low anodic and cathodic peak potential separation (ΔEp) values of ~120 mV (positive electrolyte) and ~124 mV (negative electrolyte) in cyclic voltammetry conducted at a scan rate of 5 mV s–1. Hence, the H-CFP-based VRFBs showed significantly reduced polarization.

        Lee Jung-yull. 2015. “Asymmetrical Aspects of Totally and Completely as a Freestanding Form”. The Sociolinguistic Journal of Korea 23(2). 1~35. This study examines totally and completely in discourse, elaborating on their semantic preferences and freestanding form. They have been considered as virtually interchangeable without any significant differences in the meaning of utterances. Their lexical meanings and syntactic functions seem to be identical. However, their freestanding forms in spoken discourse do not tend to be equivalent. This study explicates the correlation between their semantic preferences and freestanding usage, in which totally combines with affirmative semantic preferences, while completely collocates with unaffirmative semantic preferences. The freestanding form of totally may be related with interactive pragmatics and it functions in various pragmatic roles such as a turn initiator which is utilized to respond to a previous speaker. A wide variety of pragmatic functions of the freestanding form can involve bridging device, agreement, enthusiasm, encouraging device, satisfaction, and solidarity device in spoken English. The aim of the current study is to describe how this linguistic phenomenon occurs and to achieve a better comprehension of their nature. (162)
