        Two new species, Stericta jaeshini Kim & Bae, sp. nov. and S. atroaurantiaca Kim & Bae, sp. nov. are described from Laos and Cambodia. About 50 species of the genus Stericta have been recorded from Southeast Asia, but it has not been recorded to occur in Laos and Cambodia previously. We record the presence of this genus in these two countries for the first time in this study. Illustrations of adults and genitalia of examined species are provided.

        The genus Chroomonas is a group of blue-green colored cryptomonads. This study describes two freshwater Chroomonas species for the first time in South Korea: Chroomonas nordstedtii Hansgirg and Chroomonas coerulea (Geitler) Skuja. We examined the morphology and ultrastructure of these species by light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. These two Chroomonas species were blue-green colored and ovate to oval-shaped. Chroomonas nordstedtii was characterized by two Maupas ovals with hexagonal periplast plates, whereas C. coerulea was characterized by one eyespot with rectangular periplast plates. A molecular phylogeny with data from nuclear SSU rRNA and chloroplast rbcL genes revealed that Korean C. nordstedtii formed a distinct clade with NIES-708, NIES-1004 from Japan, and UTEX 2779 from Colorado, USA, while C. coerulea formed a clade with ACOI 1366 from Portugal.

        A new free-living marine nematode species of the genus Belbolla Andrássy, 1973 belonging to the family Enchelidiidae is described based on specimens collected from the sediment of a subtidal benthic environmental habitat in the East Sea, Korea. Belbolla wonkimi sp. nov. differs from its congeners by the combination of the following characteristics: a relatively long body (3263-3396 μm), the absence of ocelli, nine oesophageal bulbs in the posterior pharynx, well-developed two winged precloacal supplements, longer spicule length (115-130 μm, 1.6-1.8 anal body diameter long), and a triangle-shaped shorter gubernacular apophysis (17-18 μm). Comparative tables on the biogeographical and morphological characteristics of Belbolla species are presented. A DIC (differential interference contrast) photomicrograph of the new species is also provided. This is the first taxonomic report on the genus Belbolla from Korean waters.

        A new species of the genus Ebrechtella Dahl, Ebrechtella juwangensis n. sp. and the male of Ozyptila geumoensis Seo and Sohn, 1997 are reported new to science. Ozyptila utotchkini Marusik, 1990 is reported for the first time in Korea. Habitus photos and illustrations of these three species are provided.

        이리응애 1 신종인 Typhlodromips geumgangensis n. sp. (금강이리응애)를 기재하였고, 1 한국 미기록종인 Typhlodromips paraki (Ehara, 1967) (명아주이리응애)를 한국산 표본으로 재 기재하였으며, 비단이리응애속의 종 검색표를 제시하였다.

        The genera Aproceros and Yasumatsua have not been recorded in Korea previousely. Genus Aproceros is small genus among genera of subfamily Sterictiphorinae with 10 described species. Almost species of this genus recorded in Eastern Palaearctic region except A. scutellis Wei & Nie, 1998 from Oriental region. Also, genus Yasumatsua has been reported only two species: Y. albitibia Togashi, 1990 and Y. nigra Togashi, 1970 in the world. Key characters of the genera Aproceros and Yasumatsua as following: (1) Aproceros: anal cell of hind wing absent; head narrowed behind eyes; basal anal cell of fore wing open, (2) Yasumatsua: anal cell of Hind wing closed; claw with a basal lobe; face between antennal sockets narrow with sharp median carina (Meicai, 1997). Biology and ecology of these two genera are poorly studied. In this study we record one unrecorded species of genus Aproceros and described one new species of genus Yasumatsua from Korea. Also, key to korean genera of subfamily Sterictiphorinae, diagnoses of Aproceros and Yasumatsua and photos of morphological characters are provided.

        The genus Paraloconota was described as a subgenus of the genus Atheta by Cameron (1939) including seven species and he noted that it is similar to Aloconota Thomson, but can be distinguished by transverse impression of abdominal tergite IV and absence of tubercle of male tergite VII. Since then, Coiffait (1982) first treated it as a genus and described a new species. Pace (1993) proposed it as a subgenus of the genus Liogluta Thomson, 1858. Later, however, he (1998) treated it as a different genus related Liogluta. Smetana (2004) followed Coiffait (1982) and Pace (1998), and listed a subgenus Paraliogluta Pace of Liogluta as a synonym of Paraloconota. Members of the Paraloconota can be distinguished from other aleocharine genera by combination of the following characters: infraorbital carina incomplete or absent; labium with ligula divided in 2 lobes at base, lateral pseudopores absent on prementum; mesoventral process reaching to half length of mesocoxae, pointed at apex; metaventrite not produced between metacoxae narrowly separated; pubescence relatively long; legs long; empodial seta distinctly longer than claw; male tergite VII without tubercle; median lobe of aedeagus narrow apically in ventral aspect. (Cameron 1939, Pace 1991) The genus Paraloconota contains 26 species with a limited distribution in the East Palaearctic and Oriental regions (Smetana 2004) and they are usually found in the long moss attached to boulders in swiftly running mountain streams (Cameron 1939). While studying on Korean Athetini, the genus Paraloconota and a new species, P. koreana sp. n., are identified for the first time in Korea. Also we found that they are in agreement with the diagnostic characters of the tribe Geostibini Seevers, 1978 presented by Elven et al. (2012). In this study we transfer from Athetini to Geostibini and provide a habitus photograph and illustrations of the diagnostic characters of Paraloconota koreana sp. n..

        In terms of aphid species identification, both host plant association and morphological characteristics are crucial factors. However, aphids in the genus Aphis Linnaeus (Hemiptera: Aphididae) often are cryptic in morphology due to their rapid radiation. Moreover, overlapping host plant species can make difficult situation worse. Three cryptic species Aphis gossypii Glover, Aphis glycines Matsumura, and Aphis rhamnicola sp. nov. occur together on the Buckthorn, Rhamnus spp. in the overwintering season in Korea. Due to lacking informative morphological characters and host plant sharing, the new species recently has been recognized as a distinct species. In this study, A. rhamnicola sp. nov. on various host plants was compared with the primary host sharing species, A. gossypii and A. glycines, based on morphological and molecular characteristics. In the results, there were significant genetic differences between three species, despite the high similarities in morphology. Our results provide strong evidence for establishing new species, which seems to be a typical heteroecious species that alternates between only primary host, Rhamnus spp., and various secondary hosts. We describe a new species, A. rhamnicola sp. nov., for apterous and alate vivipara, fundatrix, ovipara, and gynopara, including diagnostic key for host sharing species in genus Aphis.

        The genus Scolytus of the family Scolytidae comprises more than 120 species through the world. Fifteen species of the genus Scolytus are revised from Korean peninsula. The genus Scolytus can be distinguished from the other genera by combination of following characteristics: frons slightly concave or convex with vertical wrinkles; club longer than 7-segmented funicle; pronotum fairly large, shining, punctured, narrowed towards the front, turning into a more slight or distinct neck-like constriction; vicinity of scutellum deeply impressed; elytra flat with punctures densely or sparsely arranged in rows; abdominal sternites from 2nd to 5th obliquely, convexly, concavely or vertically ascendant and with or without process or tubercles at middle. Scolytus frontalis Blandford, 1894 is new record to Korea. This species was collected from living Zelkova tree, Zelkova serrata which were planted along the street. We provide the habitus of this species and its biological informations.

        The genus Tetramoera Diakonoff (Tortricidae: Olethreutinae) is small group, including 6 species worldwide (Brown, 2005). Among them, 4 species, T. flavescens Kuznetsov, T. isogramma Meyrick, T. paragramma Meyrick, and T. schistaceana Snellen, have been described from the Oriental region in the early 20th century. And the other two species, T. gracilistira Turner, and T. leptalea Diakonoff were reported from Australia and South Africa respectively. During the course of the study on North Korean Tortiricidae based on the material deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest, Hungary, one species of the genus Tetramoera Diakonoff was found. In the present study, the genus Tetramoera Diakonoff, is reported for the first time from the Korean Peninsula. Also a new species, Tetramoera bongwaensis sp. nov., is described as new to science. Photographs of the adults and male genitalia are presented.
