‘경관1호’는 국립식량과학원 기능성작물부에서 2009년도에 육성한 중생종이며 찰성으로 경관 및 혼반용에 적합한 품로 주요특성과 수량성을 요약하면 다음과 같다. ‘경관1호’의 잎은 녹색이나, 생육후기에는 자색으로 변하며, 분얼경은 반직립으로 도복에 강하고 안토시안 색소 발현이 있다. 이삭의 형태는 선단분지형으로 이삭의 착립밀도가 조밀하고 탈립이 안되며 낟알은 청회색으로 찰성이다. ‘경관1호’는 밀양,원주, 기장의 보통기 표준재배에서 평균 출수기가 7월 30일로 ‘황금조’보다 13일 늦은 중생종이다. 초기생육은 보통이며, 생육일수는 보통기 재배에서 135일로 ‘황금조’에 비하여약 33일 길고, 성숙일수는 20일 정도 길다. 간장은 보통기 보비재배에서 118 cm로 ‘황금조’에 비해 13 cm 정도 크고 현곡천립중은 가볍다. 포장에서는 조도열병과 세균성줄무늬병및 벼줄무늬잎마름병 발생이 없었으나 조명나방 및 노린재류에 약하다. 수량은 2.07 MT/ha로 ‘황금조’에 비해 2% 정도적다.
‘Kyeongkwan1’ is a foxtail millet variety developed and registered by Department of Functional Crop, National Institute of Crop Science, Rural development Administration, in 2009. This variety was developed through pure line breeding method from Jaeju landrace. Leaf color is changed from green to purple at late growth stage. This variety has about 135 days growth duration from transplanting to harvesting in Milyang of Korea. It is about 118 cm in culm length and tolerant to lodging in field. In reaction to biotic stresses in field, it shows resistance to blast, stripe disease and rice stripe virus, but susceptibility to insect pests. The ‘Kyeongkwan1’ exhibits glutinous endosperm. The milled yield performance of this variety is about 2.07 MT/ha in local adaptability test in 2009. ‘Kyeongkwan1’ would be adaptable to plain area of Korea.
