본 연구는 의정부시에 위치한 미군부대(Camp Falling Water) 이전 부지의 활용을 위한 역전근린공원 현상설계 공모전의 우수상 수상작품 내용을 토대로 작성하였다. 계획대상지는 경기도 의정부시 의정부동 142번지 일원에 위치하며, 면적은 29,000㎡이다. 도시 중심부의 공간적 특수성을 고려하여 도시맥락을 흡수하고 소통·연계해야 하는 환경에 대한 공간의 유연성과 자연친화적공원으로써 다양한 행태의 이용가능성 방안을 중점적으로 계획에 반영하였다. 설계의 주안점으로 첫째, 공간의 특수성을 이해하고 지역의 소통을 이룰 수 있는 공간이 되도록 계획하였다. 둘째, 도시 중심부에 위치한 공원이 주변시설들과 오픈스페이스로서의 요구를 수용하는 열린 공간이 되어 감성회복공간이 되도록 계획하였다. 셋째, 특화된 테마를 부여하여 시간과 계절에따른 연계와 유연성을 유도하였으며 친환경적 시설계획으로 이용자들이 다양한 체험을 경험하도록 계획하였다.본 연구는 공간의 한계를 벗어나 주변 환경과 조화를 이루며 지역문화의 소통 및 도심과 녹지의 연계가 가능한 공원조성계획에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.
This study was based on the plan which won an award for excellence in the contest to design a neighborhood park which is adjacent to a station to effectively utilize the site for an American Military Camp called Camp Falling Water in Uijeongbu-si. The planned site is located at 142, Uijeongbu-dong, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do, and covers 29,000㎡. Based on the distinct characteristics of the downtown area, we reflected the spatial flexibility of the environment within the urban context, and we used a variety of methods available as a nature-friendly park were chiefly reflected in planning. The first priority objective of the design was to understand spatial specialty and construct a space in which people can interact with each other. Second, we focused on designing a place for stimulating residents' emotion where the park in the center of the city would be an open space in harmony with other surround facilities. Third, we reflected flexibly specialized themes linked with time and seasons, and also designed the park to let people experience various activities from environmentally-friendly facilities. This study will make a contribution to planning a park which is in harmony with its surrounding environment while dealing with the spatial limitations and making it possible to support and encourage social and cultural interaction and providing a connection to green space in an urbanized downtown setting.
