Kori Unit 1, the first commercial nuclear power plant (NPP) in Korea, was permanently shut down in 2017 and was scheduled for decommissioning. Various programs must be planned early in the decommissioning process to safely decommission NPPs. Radiological characterization is a key program in decommissioning and should be a high priority. Radiological characterization involves determining the decommissioning technology to be applied to a nuclear facility by identifying the radiation sources and radioactive contaminants present within the facility and assessing the extent and nature of the radioactive contaminants to be removed from the facility. This study introduces the regulatory requirements, procedures, and implementation methods for radiological characterization and proposes a methodology to link the results of radiological characterizations for each stage. To link radiological characteristics, this study proposes to conduct radiological characterization in the decommissioning phase to verify the results of radiological characterization in the transitional phase of decommissioning NPPs. This enables significantly reducing the scope and content of radiological characterization that must be performed in the decommissioning phase and maintaining the connection with the previous phase.
Background: Previous studies have highlighted the beneficial impact of trunk strength training on gross motor muscle function. Additionally, trunk strength training has been shown to enhance upper limb function and balance in children with cerebral palsy. Although numerous studies have explored dynamic and static balance for children with cerebral palsy, none have yet examined the combined application of kinetic link training (KLT) and bird dog exercise (BDE). Objectives: To investigated the effect of cerebral Palsy on the KLT and BDE. Design: A randomized controlled trial. Methods: This study involved 30 children diagnosed with cerebral palsy. They were randomly allocated to two groups: 15 children in the KLT group and 15 in the bird-dog group. During the intervention, four participants dropped out, resulting in 26 subjects for the final analysis (KLT=11, Bird-dog=15). After randomizing the subjects into two groups, we allocated their general characteristics. Prior to starting the intervention, initial measurements were taken using the Romberg test for static balance and the limit of stability (LOS) test for dynamic balance. Each group participated in KLT and BDE for 30 minutes, three times a week for eight weeks, under the supervision of a therapist. Follow-up measurements of static and dynamic balance were taken at the conclusion of the eight-week period. The collected data was analyzed using the SPSS ver. 21.0 program by paired t-test and independent t-test. Results: In the results for static balance, the within-group comparisons indicated a significant reduction in trace length, STD velocity, and velocity postintervention compared to pre-intervention for both the KLT and BDE groups, except for the C90 area (P<.05). Regarding dynamic balance, the withingroup comparisons demonstrated a significant increase in LOS in the forward direction for the BDE group from pre- to post-intervention (P<.05). Similarly, there was a significant increase in LOS in the backward direction for the KLT group from pre- to post-intervention (P<.05). The LOS in both the left and right directions showed significant increases in the BDE group from pre- to post-intervention (P<.05). Conclusion: An eight-week intervention involving KLT and BDE exercises improved both static and dynamic balance in children with cerebral palsy.
Food webs have received global attention as next-generation biomonitoring tools; however, it remains challenging because revealing trophic links between species is costly and laborious. Although a link-extrapolation method utilizing published trophic link data can address this difficulty, it has limitations when applied to construct food webs in domestic streams due to the lack of information on endemic species in global literature. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a link extrapolation-based food web model adapted to Korean stream ecosystems. We considered taxonomic similarity of predation and dominance of generalists in aquatic ecosystems, designing taxonomically higher-level matching methods: family matching for all fish (Family), endemic fish (Family-E), endemic fish playing the role of consumers (Family-EC), and resources (Family-ER). By adding the commonly used genus matching method (Genus) to these four matching methods, a total of five matching methods were used to construct 103 domestic food webs. Predictive power of both individual links and food web indices were evaluated by comparing constructed food webs with corresponding empirical food webs. Results showed that, in both evaluations, proposed methods tended to perform better than Genus in a data-poor environment. In particular, Family-E and Family-EC were the most effective matching methods. Our model addressed domestic data scarcity problems when using a link-extrapolation method. It offers opportunities to understand stream ecosystem food webs and may provide novel insights into biomonitoring.
자녀는 부모 삶과 적응의 핵심적인 요소다. 그동안 많은 연구를 통해 사회적 관계가 행복에서 차지하는 중요성이 밝혀진 바 있지만, 부모-자녀 관계는 상대적으로 큰 관심을 받지 못했다. 이에 본 연구는 기혼자를 대상으로 이들의 자녀 관계 만족도와 주관적 안녕감에 초점을 맞추고, 이 둘 간의 관련성이 양육 동기에 따라 어떻게 달라지는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 특정 영역에서의 성취나 긍정적 경험으로 인한 심리적 혜택이 해당 영역에 부여된 중요성에 좌우된다는 선행 문헌들을 고려했을 때, 자녀와의 만족스러운 관계는 높은 양육 동기를 가진 부모의 주관적 안녕감을 더 강하게 예측할 것으로 예상된다. 본 가설을 알아보기 위해 총 2개의 연구를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 예상대로 자녀와의 관계 만족도와 주관적 안녕감 간 정적 상관은 양육 동기가 높은 개인에게서 더 크게 나타났다. 이러한 양육 동기의 조절 효과는 한국인(연구 1)과 미국인(연구 2) 모두에게서 일관되게 관찰되었으며, 문화에 따른 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 부모나 자녀의 성별, 나이 등을 통제하고서도 유효했으며, 특히 주관적 안녕감의 하위 요인 중 부정 정서에서 두드러지는 경향이 있었다.
Background: Children with cerebral palsy face challenges in maintaining body stability because of structural and functional defects. Their ability for responsive balance control is diminished. While there exist various trunk stabilization exercises such as Kinetic Link training (KLT) and the Bird-dog posture, there is a notable dearth of research that applies KLT specifically to children with cerebral palsy. Objectives: To investigate the effects of KLT and Bird-dog exercise on gross motor function and balance in children with cerebral palsy. Design: Quaxi-experimental study. Methods: The study participants were randomly divided into two groups: 15 individuals in the KLT group and 15 in the Bird-dog group. General characteristics were examined, and initial measurements of Gross motor function measure (GMFM) and Pediatric balance scale (PBS) were taken prior to the intervention. Each group engaged in KLT exercises and Bird-dog exercises for 20 minutes, three times a week over an 8 week period. Following the completion of the 8 week intervention, secondary measurements of GMFM and PBS were conducted. Results: In the KLT group, both PBS and GMFM showed a significant increase after the intervention compared to before (P<.05). Similarly, in the Bird-dog group, both PBS and GMFM significantly increased after the intervention compared to before (P<.05). There was a significant difference observed in PBS when comparing the pre- and post-intervention changes between the two groups (P<.05), whereas no significant difference was found in GMFM between the groups when comparing the pre- and post-intervention changes (P>.05). Conclusion: The interventions involving KLT and Bird-dog exercises were observed to effectively enhance PBS and GMFM in children with cerebral palsy. Specifically, it was evident that KLT was more beneficial in improving balance abilities compared to Bird-dog exercise.
With the rapid growth of Podcast listening volume in the past two years (SoundOn, 2021), more and more research is also devoted to podcasts. Previous literature investigating podcasts mainly focused on the motivation of podcast listeners. This study aims to find out the voice characteristics of the producer and the psychological needs of the listener that affect listening intention, including speech rate, voice pitch, voice gender, and especially the mediating effect of affiliation needs and epistemic curiosity between proximity and listening intention. This study collects data from 3 experiments. We construct our stimuli from a script for a book introduction.
Background: Previous studies have reported that improving the spinal stability could be more effective in the prevention and treatment of recurrence. Lumbar stabilization exercise is known to strengthen the lumbar extension muscles and enhance physical, psychological and social functions.
Objectives: To investigated the effect of lumbar spiral stenosis on the kinetic link training and lumbar stabilization exercise.
Design: A randomized controlled trial.
Methods: Study was preformed by randomly allocated 28 LSS participants into a kinetic link training group (KLT, n=14) and a lumbar stabilization exercise group (LSE, n=14). Kinetic link training and lumbar stabilization exercise were performed to subjects in both groups 5 times a week for 6 weeks. To verify the effect of LSS, changes in VAS, ODI, and proprioception before and after intervention were observed.
Results: In KLT, statistically significant changes were found in VAS, ODI, and Proprioception before and after intervention. In LSE, there were significant changes in VAS and ODI before and after intervention. KLT and LSE before and after intervention indicated significant differences in proprioception.
Conclusion: KLT and LSE are applied to LSS, there are effects of pain decrease, lumbar recovery and proprioception improvement.
This study intends to present a traffic node-based and link-based accident prediction models using XGBoost which is very excellent in performance among machine learning models, and to develop those models with sustainability and scalability. Also, we intend to present those models which predict the number of annual traffic accidents based on road types, weather conditions, and traffic information using XGBoost. To this end, data sets were constructed by collecting and preprocessing traffic accident information, road information, weather information, and traffic information. The SHAP method was used to identify the variables affecting the number of traffic accidents. The five main variables of the traffic node-based accident prediction model were snow cover, precipitation, the number of entering lanes and connected links, and slow speed. Otherwise, those of the traffic link-based accident prediction model were snow cover, precipitation, the number of lanes, road length, and slow speed. As the evaluation results of those models, the RMSE values of those models were each 0.2035 and 0.2107. In this study, only data from Sejong City were used to our models, but ours can be applied to all regions where traffic nodes and links are constructed. Therefore, our prediction models can be extended to a wider range.
Ecological characteristics of a brown alga, Scytosiphon lomentaria, were investigated from January 2021 to December 2021 in its natural habitat off Sodol, Jumunjin, eastern coast of Korea. The S. lomentaria population at the site formed widespread patches on mid shore. During the investigation, environmental conditions including seawater temperature, salinity, and dissolved oxygen were monitored at the site. Growth and maturation of the S. lomentaria population were identified through qualitative and quantitative investigations. An estimation of the effective cumulative temperature for maturation of the alga was obtained based on growth data and a biological zero temperature of 8°C. Sporangia were observed from February to May when seawater temperatures ranged from 7.7°C to 16.4°C. A maturation peak was detected in April when seawater temperature was 12.1°C. After zoospore release, the alga became bleached and only the crust remained after June. Developmental initiation of the thallus occurred at temperatures above 8°C. Its maturation required approximately 162 degree-days.
편심가새골조(EBF)의 역량설계법에 의하면, 링크가 완전항복 및 변형경화 상태일 때 기둥, 링크외부보, 가새(비소산 부재)는 탄성 거동해야 한다. 현행 AISC 341은 역량설계에 필요한 변형도경화계수(SHF)를 1.25로 제시하고 있으나, 실제로 건물이 고층 규모일수 록 모든 링크가 이처럼 동등한 수준의 초과강도에 도달할 가능성은 매우 낮아진다. 본 연구에서는 링크의 SHF를 정밀하게 예측하는 방법을 제안함으로써, 역량설계법의 목적을 달성하면서 구조물량을 절감하고자 하였다. 제안한 방법의 효과를 검증하기 위해 선형해 석을 2회 수행하여 SHF를 예측하고, 이를 비선형 해석결과와 비교하였다. 다음으로 비선형 해석에 의한 응답을 분석하여 구조물의 한 계상태에서 비소산 부재들의 항복 여부를 확인하였다. 그 결과, 본 연구의 방법으로 설계된 구조물은 링크의 SHF를 정확히 예측함으 로 인해 물량이 큰 폭으로 절감되었으며, 비소산 부재들도 모두 탄성상태를 만족하는 것으로 나타났다.
이 연구는 사회적 자본을 구성하는 요인 가운데 ‘신뢰’의 수준이 한 국가에서 발생하는 민주적 퇴행과 어떻게 연관되어 있을지 개괄하였다. 이를 위하여 민주적 후퇴를 어떻게 바라볼지에 대한 연구들과 더불어 사회적 자본 을 정의하는 데 도움을 주는 기존 연구들을 살펴보았다. 이 연구에서 민주적 후퇴는 포퓰리즘의 등장과 같은 것으로 이해한다. 민주적 후퇴가 등장한 전형적인 사례로써 헝가리와 폴란드를 선택하였고, 두 국가가 경험한 민주적 후퇴 과정을 서술한 후 사회적 자본의 측정 지표인 '신뢰'의 수준 변화를 시계열 추세 분석을 이용하여 추적했다. 분석을 위해, WVS가 설문조사 를 통해 수집한 개인적 신뢰 및 집단적 신뢰 데이터들을 이용하였다. 그 결과, 두 사례에서 모두 개인적 신뢰와 민주적 후퇴 간 인과관계가 뚜렷하게 드러나지 않았다. 집단적 신뢰의 차원에서도 그 추세 변화가 민주적 후퇴와 연관되지 않는 것처럼 보인다. 그러나 민주화 이후 집단적 신뢰가 저수준으로 고착됐다는 사실을 확인할 수 있고, 이것이 민주적 후퇴 현상을 용인하는 토양이 되었을 것이라 가정할 수 있다. 현재 이용 가능한 데이터는 아주 제한적이고 따라서 강력한 결론을 이끄는 데 어려움이 있다. 그러나 이 연구가 사회적 자본과 민주주의의 관계에 관한 심도 있는 연구를 이끄는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.
PURPOSES : This study aims to develop an algorithm to solve the user equilibrium traffic assignment problem using soft link capacity constraints. This model is used to relax the hard capacity constraints model.
METHODS : In the traffic assignment model that imposes the hard capacity constraints, the well-known solution algorithms used are the augmented Lagrange multiplier method and the inner penalty function method. The major drawback of using the hard-capacity constraint model is the feasible solution issue. If the capacities in the network are not sufficient to absorb the flow from the diverged flows through the hard capacity constraints, it might result in no solution; whereas, using a soft capacity constraint model guarantees a feasible solution because the soft capacity constraint model uses the penalization of constraint violation in the objective function. In this study, the gradient projection (GP) algorithm was adapted.
RESULTS : Two numerical experiments were conducted to demonstrate the features of the soft capacity constraint model and the computational performance of the solution algorithm. The results revealed that imposing the soft link capacity constraints can ensure convergence. CONCLUSIONS : The proposed model can be easily extended by considering other traffic assignment models, for e.g., non-additive traffic equilibrium problem, stochastic traffic equilibrium model, and, elastic demand traffic equilibrium problem. Furthermore, the model can exist regardless of the sufficient capacity for each O-D pair to cater to their demands.
일과 삶의 균형에 대한 관심의 증대와 더불어 수많은 연구들이 일과 삶의 균형의 효과성을 규명하고 있다. 이러한 기존의 연구들은 일과 삶의 균형에 대한 다면적인 측면을 살피지 않아서 일과 삶의 균형이 조직구성원들에게 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 온전히 이해하는 데 한계가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 일과 삶의 균형에 대한 선행연구들을 토대로 일과 삶의 균형을 일-성장, 일-가정, 일-여가 균형으로 구분하고, 이들이 군 조직에서 부대원들에게 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 탐구한다. 구체적으로 본 연구는 일과 삶의 균형은 군부대원들의 사기를 진작하는 데 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 부대원들의 고양된 사기가 조직지향 조직시 민행동을 이끌어 낼 것으로 예측한다. 즉, 본 연구는 사기진작이 일과 삶의 균형과 조직지향 조직시민행동과의 관계를 매개할 것으로 주장한다. 또한, 일과 삶의 균형이 사기진작에 미치는 효과는 부대원의 근무환 경(경계부대 대 일반부대)에 따라 차별적으로 나타날 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 근무환경의 조절효과와 모형의 조절된 매개효과를 살펴본다. 이와 같은 가설들을 검증하고자 220명의 군 간부들을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였으며, 불성실한 응답을 제외한 214부의 자료를 실증분석에 활용하였다. 분석결과는 다음 과 같다. 첫째, 일-성장, 일-여가 균형과 사기진작은 긍정적인 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사기진 작과 조직지향 조직시민행동 간에 긍정적인 관계가 있는 것을 확인하였다. 셋째, 일-성장 균형과 조직지 향 조직시민행동과의 관계와 일-여가 균형과 조직지향 조직시민행동과의 관계는 사기진작에 의해 매개 되는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 일-성장 균형과 사기진작과의 관계와 일-가정 균형과 사기진작의 관계는 일반부대원에 비해 경계부대원에게서 약화되는 것을 확인하였다. 다섯째, 일-성장 균형이 부대원의 사기 진작을 통해 조직지향 조직시민행동으로 이어지는 간접효과에서 근무환경이 조절된 매개효과를 나타내는 것을 확인하였다. 끝으로, 본 연구결과의 이론적ㆍ실무적 의의와 한계점 및 향후 연구에 대해서 논의한다.
The National Competency Standards(NCS) has been developed a good curriculum to reflect the demand in the industry. NCS is defined as systemizing the knowledge, skill, and attitude required to perform a task in the industry. It is an effort to reduce the gap between educational requirements and occupational requirements. However, when NCS is applied, the task level is changed to the title of qualification according to the policy outcomes for the government project. And, the NCS has been emphasizing the purpose of license acquisition, rather than using the standard for tasks in the industry. It means that the misuse of NSC hinders utilizing it as the original purpose of standardizing a task. It requires the customer to study the required competency unit with a no-choice option. Moreover, it makes it hard for companies or industry autonomically run the NCS. Therefore, we define the operational range in terms of the education field, the qualification field, and the career field to diffuse and apply NCS, and suggest the effective utilization method.
The UNCLOS regulates complex balance of rights and duties among State parties. Its text was deliberately left vague as a result of compromise between the negotiating parties. To develop the legal norms, judges and arbitrators have referred to other rules of international law through systematic integration, rules of reference, and broad applicable law. However, judicial practice has expanded subject-matter jurisdiction beyond the UNCLOS, causing antinomy between Articles 288, on jurisdiction, and 293 of UNCLOS, on applicable law. Part XV of the UNCLOS has created an invisible community that would ideally lead the UNCLOS Tribunals to develop and follow a pragmatic approach as to the limits of their subject-matter jurisdiction in order to provide for judicial coherence. When interpreting the treaty, the establishment of genuine links between disputes and substantive rules under the UNCLOS is necessary, by which other rules of international law are firmly anchored to the interpreted texts under the UNCLOS.
The tubular link chain conveyor works under very extreme conditions such as high tensile load, friction, and dangerous operating environments. In this study, we propose an optimal design plan for reducing cost and improving performance through weight reduction of tubular link chain conveyors for sludge transport. For light weight of tubular link chain conveyor, the optimization software using SHERPA algorithms, HEEDS was used in conjunction with ANSYS Mechanical V14.5, which is widely used in structural analysis, to achieve optimal tubular link chain. Through the optimization process, 19% light weight was achieved.
