국내에 자생하는 꽃 중 9종을 80% ethanol 추출 및 농축하여 전자공여능, 환원력, 총 페놀 함량, 총 플라보노이드 함량을 측정한 결과, 전자공여능에서 배초향이 (SC50=74.6μg/mL) 대조군인 BHT(SC50=238.8μg/mL)보다 월등히 높은 활성을 보였다. 환원력 측정 결과 추출물의 농도가 높아짐에 따라 활성이 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, 9개 품종의 꽃 중에서 배초향이 1.0의 OD값으로 가장 높은 활성을 나타내었다. 또한 추출물의 총 페놀 함량은 배초향이 134.6mg GAE/mL로 높은 함량을 나타내었으며, 벌개미취가 40.1 mg GAE/mL로 가장 낮은 함량을 보였다. 총 플라보노이드 함량은 고본이 87.0 mg QE/mL로 높은 함량을 보였다. 이러한 결과로 총 페놀 함량과 항산화능과의 상관관계가 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 꽃 중에서 가장 항산화 활성이 높은 배초향에 대해 용매 분획을 실시하여 DPPH radical소거활성 실험을 수행한 결과, ethyl acetate층이 SC50=43.2μg/mL로 높은 활성을 나타내었다. 또한 총 페놀 및 플라보노이드 함량은 각각 235.5 mg GAE/mL, 96.0 mg QE/mL로 다른 분획물보다 높은 함량을 나타내었다. 본 연구는 결과를 통하여 꽃의 활용성을 증가시킨다고 판단한다. 꽃 추출물의 생리활성 검정은 새로운 기능성 소재로서의 가치를 평가하는데 있어 기초자료 제공에 많은 기여를 할 수 있을 것이며, 꽃을 이용한 천연항산화제의 개발과 꽃에 함유되어 있는 유효성분 연구가 활발하게 이루어질 것이다.
Nine kinds of flowers were selected by its antioxidative activities evaluated. DPPH(1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazil), reducing power, total phenol contents, total flavonoid contents, and antimicrobial activity inhibitory effects of nine natural flower varieties were examined using ethanol extract (80%, v/v). DPPH radical scavenging of Agastache rugosa (fisch.&Mey.) kuntze (IC50=74.6μg/mL) and solidago virga-aurea var. asiatica (IC50=99.6μg/mL) showed higher antioxidant activity compared with those of the other varieties. Reducing power of Agastache rugosa (fisch.&Mey.) kuntze (OD700=1.0) had higher antioxidant activity. Agastache rugosa (fisch.&Mey.) kuntze showed the highest content of total phenol (134.6 mg GAE/g). However, total flavonoid (554.6 mg QE/g) exhibited the lowest. These results suggest that nine kinds of flower with 80% ethanol extracts have significant antioxidant activity.
