이 연구의 목적은 2000년대 이후 일본에서 시작된 한류 문화의 현상, 단계적 성장 과정, 유행과 쇠퇴요인, 한류 문화와 ‘파친코’ 드라마를 통 해 본 한일 역사논쟁 등을 고찰하는 데 있다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 일본에서 한류 붐의 요인은 서울올림픽, 일본 대중문화개방과 한일 공동선언, 한일월드컵 공동 개최, ‘겨울연가’의 인기 등 다양한 요인들에 의해 설명되고 있다. 둘째, 일본에서 한류의 단계적 성장은 한류 영화, 한류드라마, K-POP 순서로 발전해온 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 일본에서 K-POP 가수의 유형은 ‘한류드라마 유형’, ‘한일 동시 활동형’, ‘기타 유 형’으로 분류되었다. 넷째, 일본에서 한류 붐의 유행과 쇠퇴에 관해 기존 연구는 영토문제와 역사문제 등 정치적 요인들로 설명하였다. 본 연구는 한류 문화가 글로벌 온라인 동영상 서비스(OTT)나 넷플릭스를 통해 다 양한 연령층으로 확대되고 있다는 점을 강조하였다. 다섯째, K-문화와 ‘파친코’ 드라마의 의미는 한류 문화와 재일동포의 디아스포라적 서사가 결합된 작품이라는 점을 규명하였다. 결론적으로 일본 내 한류, 즉 K-콘 텐츠라고 할 수 있는 K-영화, K-드라마, K-POP는 일본 청년층 수용자 들을 대상으로 한류에 의한 한국과 한국인에 대한 기존의 부정적인 태도 를 호의적인 태도로 바꾸는 모멘텀 역할을 해 왔다는 점에서 의미를 찾 을 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the phenomenon of Hallyu culture in Japan, the step-by-step growth process, fashion and decline factors, the diaspora narrative structure and the historical debate between Korea and Japan as seen through Hallyu culture and the 'Pachinko' drama. The research results are as follows. First, the fundamental factors of the Korean Wave boom in Japan can be explained by various factors such as the Seoul Olympics, Japan's opening up of Japanese popular culture and Korea-Japan joint declaration, joint hosting of the Korea-Japan World Cup, and the popularity of 'Winter Sonata'. Second, it was found that the phased growth of Hallyu in Japan has been developed in the order of K-movie, K-drama, and K-pop. Third, the types of K-pop singers can be classified into 'Korean Wave Drama Type', 'Korea-Japan Simultaneous Activity Type', and 'Other Type'. Fourth, the factors of the prevalence and decline of the Korean Wave boom in Japan were often explained by political factors such as territorial issues and historical issues. Recently, it has a new meaning in that it is expanding to a wide range of age groups through global online video service (OTT) and Netflix. Fifth, if we look at the historical meaning of K-culture and the 'pachinko' drama, it can be seen as a work in which Hallyu cultural elements and diaspora narratives are combined. In conclusion, the Korean Wave in Japan is considered to have a deep meaning in that it has served as a momentum to change the existing negative attitude toward Korea and Koreans caused by the Hallyu into a favorable attitude toward the Japanese youth audience.
