본 연구는 취미가 직업이 되는 하비프러너 도슨트(Hobby-Preneur Docent) 의 요건을 도출하고, 이들 활동의 개인적 의미와 사회적 영향에 대해 고 찰하고자 하였다. 하비프러너 도슨트는 취미활동에 가치를 두고 이와 관 련한 지식, 경험 등을 쌓아 전문성을 갖추어 경제활동을 하는 도슨트를 뜻한다. 하비프러너 도슨트로 활동하고 있는 6명을 연구 대상으로 선정 하여 지오르기(Giorgi)의 현상학적 연구방법으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 하비프러너 도슨트의 요건은 개인적 성장과 자족감 등 지속적인 내적 보 상과 경제적 보상으로 확인되었다. 이들은 대부분 불안정한 고용과 낮은 경제적 보상에도 불구하고, 흥미와 재미를 느끼며 활동의 가치를 찾고 자아실현이 가능하다는 점에서 삶에 대한 만족감이 높다. 이들의 활동은 개인적으로는 삶의 만족감 증진, 존재의 효능감 등 긍정적 경험을 제공 하여 사회적 결속력을 강화하고, 이는 사회적 자본형성에 기여할 수 있 다. 한편 갤러리나 아트페어에서의 활동은 미술시장의 새로운 패러다임 을 제시할 수 있고 문화예술의 저변 확대로 문화 민주주의 실천에 기여 할 수 있다.
This study explores the characteristics of Hobby-Preneur Docents, who build expertise based on their knowledge of art, previously enjoyed as a hobby or leisure activity, and engage in economic activities while deriving personal and societal significance from their endeavors. Despite facing unstable employment and low economic rewards, many Hobby-Preneur Docents find high satisfaction in their lives by attributing value to their activities through personal interests and fulfillment. Six individuals engaged in Hobby-Preneur Docent activities were selected as study participants, and in-depth interviews were conducted. The collected data were analyzed using phenomenological research methods. The research findings indicate that the expertise of Hobby-Preneur Docents is grounded in individual effort and challenges. Furthermore, it was confirmed that their activities not only enhance personal quality of life but also reduce entry barriers to the public cultural and artistic sphere. By contributing to the maintenance and development of a cyclical structure in the cultural and artistic realm, their activities suggest continuous advancement in cultural activities and an expansion of societal values.
