This article explores the reasons behind Japan's decision to re-emphasize the Quad after a period of silence. The research indicates that Japan's stance towards the Quad is influenced by two key factors: the minilateral nature of the Quad and Japan's domestic politics. The minilateral、aspect suggests that the Quad is a "convenient" platform for Japan to engage with, while domestic politics reveal that the value diplomacy advocated by Abe during his two terms aligns well with the Quad. As a result, the Quad functions as a practical geopolitical "tool" for Japan.
