중국어 학습에서 한자는 단순한 문자 학습을 넘어 어휘 확장, 문해력 향상, 문화적 이해를 연결하는 핵심 요소이다. 그러나 현재의 한자 교육은 주로 단순 암기에 의존 하며 학습자 개개인의 수준과 학습 성향을 충분히 반영하지 못하고 있다. 이에 본고 는 대학 중국어 학습자를 대상으로 한 한자 학습의 효과적인 방안을 모색하기 위해 단계별 교육 모델을 제안한다. 초급 단계에서는 학습자들이 기초 한자의 형태, 발음, 의미를 연결하여 이해할 수 있도록 시각적 자료와 반복 학습을 활용한다. 기본 부수 학습과 병음을 연계한 발음 연습이 포함되며 실생활에서 자주 사용하는 기초 어휘를 중심으로 학습을 진행한다. 중급 단계에서는 한자의 조합 원리를 활용한 어휘 확장 과 문맥 내 한자 사용법 학습을 통해 실질적인 독해 및 표현 능력을 강화한다. 부수 기반의 한자 조합 이해와 다양한 텍스트 자료를 통한 문맥 속 학습이 강조된다. 고 급 단계에서는 전문 용어 및 고급 어휘를 포함한 복합적인 한자 학습을 중심으로 하 며 전문 자료를 활용하여 심화된 문해력과 응용 능력을 배양한다. 본고는 초급, 중 급, 고급 단계로 나누어 학습자의 수준에 맞춘 체계적인 한자 교육 방안을 설계하고, 이를 통해 한자 학습의 효과를 극대화하여 학습자들의 중국어 문해력과 어휘력을 체 계적으로 향상시키는 데 기여하고자 한다.

In Chinese language learning, characters are essential for connecting vocabulary expansion, literacy, and cultural understanding, not just learning symbols. However, current education often relies on rote memorization, failing to address individual learners’ levels and preferences. This paper proposes a step-by-step educational model to explore effective methods for teaching Chinese characters to university-level learners. In the beginner stage, learners focus on connecting the form, pronunciation, and meaning of basic characters through visual aids and repetition. The curriculum includes learning basic radicals and pinyin pronunciation, with a focus on common everyday vocabulary. The intermediate stage emphasizes vocabulary expansion by understanding character combinations and using characters in context, enhancing reading and expression skills. Students focus on radicals and practice contextual learning with diverse texts. In the advanced stage, learners focus on complex Chinese characters, specialized terms, and advanced vocabulary, using specialized materials to further develop literacy and application skills. Through this step-by-step Chinese character education, the aim is to maximize the effectiveness of character learning and contribute to the systematic improvement of learners’ Chinese literacy and vocabulary skills.
