In recent, many researches are in progress to improve the indoor air quality. So, we proposed the specified concrete mixed with functional materials. In order to evaluate the performance of functional concrete, the mechanical properties, durability and the change in formaldehyde concentration were compared. According to the results, the specified concrete compared to normal concrete, showed similar levels in terms of mechanical properties and durability, while its effect of reducing concentrations of formaldehyde was notably efficient.
The acoustic emission technique (AE) was implemented to assess long-term performance of concrete beams (reinforced with glass fiber reinforced polymers (GFRP) and steel bars) exposed to an aggressive combination of high temperature and humidity. This study presents the results and discussions of an experimental study concerning AE characteristics of long-term behaviors of concrete beams reinforced with GFRP and steel bars after accelerated
In this study, to investigate differences between artificial and natural conditions, two acceleration test methods (electrochemical testing and chemical testing) were performed using concrete specimens. Following this, the quantity of calcium leaching and the degraded thickness obtained from each acceleration test were compared with those of the deionized water tests. According to results, the acceleration test method corresponds well to the leaching degradation and the chemical acceleration test method is most useful for accelerating the leaching of cement hydrate in concrete.
This study is a result of the experiment for evaluating the performance of high strength concrete(100 MPa) using slag powder. We performed the experiment for mix design and measured the fluidity and strength. By using more slag powder in high strength concrete, workability is improved
To evaluate the stress-strain relationship of HVFA(High Volume Fly Ash) concrete, experiments were performed according to the ratio of fly ash usage and concrete compressive strength. Test results were shown that elasticity modulus of HVFAC was influenced by compressive strength, elasticity modulus and fly ash usage ratio. And the existing equation of stress-strain relationship had a large difference. So, new equation of stress-strain relationship for HVFAC was proposed, and the proposed results had a good correlation with test results
To evaluate the elasticity modulus of HVFA(High Volume Fly Ash) concrete, experiments were
performed according to the ratio of fly ash usage and concrete compressive strength. Test results were shown that elasticity modulus of HVFAC was influenced by compressive strength, unit weight and fly ash usage ratio. And the existing codes of elasticity modulus had a large difference. So, new equation of elasticity modulus for HVFAC was proposed, and the proposed results had a good correlation with test results.
In this study, crack and movement preventing characteristics by waterproofing methods using PE woven fabrics of the punched mesh type was examined. As a result, It can be effectively operating as buffer zone in case of making cracks on the concrete s
To assess the steel corrosion resistance for Calcium aluminate cement and Ordinary portland cement against internal chloride ions, mortar specimens were cast, assuming aggregates are inert. Linear polarisation, half-cell potential and mass loss were chosen to measure the rate of steel corrosion.
Spite of the several advantages of durability and economic characteristics, such as civil engineering and construction materials, which is widely used as a mortar and concrete, and the tensile strength of fragility and brittleness due to local damage caused. This mechanical shortcoming ensure ductility and brittle complement the various fibers used in concrete and mortar has been developed in order to improve the energy absorption capacity, and increase the use of multiple structures in the form of.Now widely used in the polypropylene fiber polypropylene and affordable, excellent chemical stability and durability, but mainly use the nature of water and mix well so the fluorinated surface hydrophilic polypropylene fibers that can be granted through the processing unit,to overcome this.
Mechanical performance of UHPC is known to be strongly influenced by placing method. In this study, in order to estimate variation in tensile behavior of hybrid fiber reinforced UHPC, two different placing methods were adopted in fabricating test specimens. Test results presents that placing method causes a noticeable variation in the tensile behavior
In this stduy, Calcium aluminate cement (CAC) and Ordinarly portalnd cement (OPC) concretes were evaluated by electrical ion penetration and diffusion to assess chloride transport properties. Both methods used concrete specimens. Electrical ion penetration measured total charge passed concrete specimens at 28, 56, 91 days, and chloride profiles were shown to evaluate chloride transport with diffusion after immersing concrete specimens in 4M NaCl solution during 200 days.
To strength deteriorated concrete deck by near surface mounted method, energy dissipation capacity of steel plate metallic damper, which has shape modification in existing slit damper, performance test is conducted with the variables of strut height. For the design of damper, the strength, stiffness degradation and energy dissipation capacity are evaluated by using test results
The electrical resistivity of saturated concrete has been found to be a good measure of the concrete performance of chlorides. It is well known that resistivity of concrete is governed by temperature and degree of saturation strongly. The purpose of this study is to develop, design and test a surface electrical resistivity measurement protocol. The outcome of this study can provide a non-destructive approach that assists in identifying the bulk concrete resistivity which can then be correlated to chloride diffusivity
It is difficult to ensure enough workability and flowability in the fresh state of UHPC. In addition,
it needs to enhance economic efficiency by reducing the usage of expensive constituents. Zirconia silica fume is an alternative material to replace the existing Silica fume. The objective of this study is to find out the effect of Zirconia silica fume dosage on viscosity of UHPC matrix
As the use of de-icer on expressway is increased, scaling resistance on pavement surfaces due to freezing-thawing is decreased. In this study, scaling test methods and specifications for concrete is investigated to evaluate freezing-thawing resistance of concrete.
Girder type and slab type modular bridges require using UHSC(Ultra High Strength Concrete) and high performance mortar to connect each girder and slab modules at joint parts. This study presents the results of mock-up tests on the properties of UHSC and high performance mortar for modular bridge
