The law of facilities safety is maintained for the purpose of protecting the safety of the people. Recently, the law of facilities safety is revised to introduce an evaluation system based on performance. In this research, we classified the civil complaints that occur continuously in relation to the introduction of the performance evaluation system and through this we drew the improvements to establish the system.

This study examined the validity of the level of the earthquake load defined in the Korea specification for the tower crane which utilized the equivalent static load. The specification on the structure and performance of tower crane defined that the earthquake load should be considered as a horizontal load corresponding to 15 % of a crane self weight. However, this definition did not reflect the vibration characteristic including frequencies of the tower crane. Thus, it is necessary to carry out a study on the earthquake behavior of tower cranes that reflected the dynamic characteristic of earthquake loads and tower cranes. it was thought that the level of earthquake load defined in equivalent static analysis for the tower crane did not reflect the structural behavior of the tower crane correctly by overestimating the response from tower crane.

The purpose of this research is to carry out an analysis of resident' satisfaction in a Smaller House with low market competitiveness and low architectural level in order to provide basic data on the development and construction of in a Smaller House in the future. For the purpose, we have conducted a questionnaire survey on their satisfaction with the residents who live in a Smaller House in JinJu, Gyeongsang Namdo as target , and the collected data was analyzed using SPSS 18.0 Statistical Program. As for methods of analysis, we carried out such analysis as frequency analysis, reliability analysis, regression analysis, t-test, and One-way ANOVA. The results of our findings can be summarized as follows The supply of closed and uniform one-bedroom apartments continues to take into account the efficiency of supply, and previous studies point to the worsening housing conditions, Therefore, smaller apartments that are relatively less competitive in the market need to improve their technology and performance levels. Theregore, it is expected that matters concerning usage behavior and satisfaction shown in this research result in planning and building small houses in the future will be actively utilized.

Most of the companies that build small houses are mostly private businesses or small corporations. Lack of awareness of poor management environment and small-scale projects and lack of systematic management cause many losses and management difficulties in project execution. Therefore, there is a need to improve the quality of small - sized houses by identifying the difficulties and weaknesses of small - and mid - sized construction companies that build small houses, and the factors that impede the safety and housing environment of small houses. The purpose of this study is to propose an improvement plan through a questionnaire survey on small - scale housing construction specialists.

The numerical model was developed to estimate the transient behavior of pressure waves in pipe systems. The computational algorithm was proposed to model the water hammer phenomenon in a pipe system with pump shutdown at midstream and sudden valve closure at downstream. To predict the pressure head and the flow velocity as a function of time as a result of rapidly closing a valve and pump shutdown, two boundary conditions at the ends considering pump operation and valve control can be implemented as specified equations of the pressure head and flow velocity based on the characteristics method. It was shown that the effects of transient flow make it determine the needs for protection devices, such as surge tanks, surge relief valves, or air valves, at various points in the system against overpressure and low pressure. It produced reasonably good performance with the results of the proposed transient model for pipeline systems. The proposed numerical model can be used as an efficient tool for the safety assessment of hydropower plants due to water hammer.

The loss of safety for reservoirs brought about by climate change and facility aging leads to reservoir failures, which results in the loss of lives and property damage in downstream areas. Therefore, it is necessary to provide a Reservoir(Dam) Failure Forecasting System for downstream residents to detect the early signs of failure (with sensors) in real-time and perform safety management to prevent and minimize possible damage. Ground water level meter was installed for changes of seepage and understanding of underground stability, and its management criteria was established in change of ground water level up to dam height. Analysis results show that distribution of values are scattered so it is necessary to do monitering for 1 year to set up for numerical fitting.

The paper presents the experimental investigation on the flexural behavior of Textile Reinforced Concrete (TRC) composite pannel. This new composite material has been developed to improve the structural performance of RC columns. The mechanical behavior under static loading of the composite elements is evaluated through the flexural testing. The first set of specimens was a normal concrete element without the textile. The second set of specimens was strengthened by 3D textile fabric. Testing data are analyzed to investigate the performance of the 3D textile reinforced concrete specimens compared to the performance of the normal elements.

When the SC structure is partially applied to a nuclear power plant building, an RC-SC connection part is generated between the SC wall and the RC slabs or RC walls. When the RC-SC connection part is generated, the compressive failure of the concrete near RC-SC connection part may occur if the difference in flexural stiffness between the RC part and the RC-SC connection part is large. Also, from the viewpoint of constructability, it is expected that a anchoring system which fixes the SC wall is required if the SC wall is raised above the RC wall. In this study, construction method with connection improvement is proposed to solve the problems expected from the structural and construction aspects.

Stainless steel has many advantages such as excellent durability, ductility and corrosion resistance. Recently, the use of stainless steel has been increased in a variety of structural members and industrial fields. But, stainless steels are not included is the structural materials of Korean building standards and corresponding design standards are not specified. In this paper, finite element analysis has been performed to investigate the ultimate strength of single shear duplex stainless steel (STS329FLD) four-bolted connection with extended variables. As a result, strength reduction ratio by curling was estimated quantitatively.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the ultimate strength of carbon steel (SS400) fillet-welded connections with weld metal fracture through monotonic tensile test. Specimens of CTFW series (transverse fillet weld against loading direction), CLFW series (longitudinal fillet weld against loading direction) and CFW series (a combination of transverse weld and longitudinal weld) failed by tensile fracture, shear fracture and block shear fracture, respectively. In this study, we proposed a modified design equation for SC walls subjected to local impact load based on a series of experimental studies on the impact resistance of SC walls. Then, the results of the modified design equation was evaluated and verified based on the extensive experimental test data as well as numerical parametric analysis data. Finally we confirmed that the modified design equation provided reasonable results.

In this study, the effect on seismic performance of Binding Column Method(BCM) system was empirically evaluated. Four column models that were confined by different forces and one rare column model as a control were manufactured for cyclic loading test. As a result, in the column retrofitted with BCM, the ultimate displacement and load were increased about 2.5 and 2.0 times. Also, the energy-dissipating capacity of the retrofitted model was improved, compared to a rare column model.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the validity of design criteria for the SCP module specified in KEPIC-SNG. The structural performance of the compression members for the SCP module joint types was measured and the characteristics of the compression members were analyzed. As a result, For all specimens, the maximum load exceeded the ultimate strength.

In this study, a PTZ(Pan-Tilt-Zoom) system was applied as the methods for measuring the deformation angle of a steel pipe elbow. An image of the steel pipe elbow was enhanced using an image filter processing algorithm. To measure the deformation angle, the Hough transform was applied to the enhanced image to facilitate line recognition. In this study, the limit state of the elbow was defined as rupture or leakage. To verify the validity of measuring the deformation angle of a steel pipe elbow by using a PTZ system, an in-plane cyclic loading test was conducted so that deformation angles that are too large to measure using a conventional sensor could be measured effectively.

In this study the design sensitivity of blast-resistant door composed with steel plate and inner RC core was analyzed according to increased steel ratio of plate and rebar. The results showed that compressive failure of inner concrete decreased rapidly in the case of specific steel ratio, and that the overall structural performance such as deflection did not changed substantially.

Recently, the use of PC(Precast Concrete) structure is increasing due to quality assurance and process shortening. In this study, we proposed a PPC method that improved the seismic performance of Half PC method by connecting the cast iron of PC wall to the foundation anchor using sleeve. In addition, the inner and outer PC walls are fabricated as one body, and the PPW method suitable for the high wall structure is proposed.

Recently, overlay concrete median barrier in South Korea was newly developed. Accordingly, numerical analysis for occupant-protection performance was conducted before experimental test. In this study, dynamic analysis of vehicle-overlay concrete median barrier collision was conducted to confirm safety of driver. Furthermore, the analysis results of vehicle behavior was compared to experimental test.

Structural behavior of blast-resistant door composed with steel plate and inner con’c core was analyzed according to composite and non-composite condition. The results showed that maximum and permanent deflection decrease in the case of composite condition. And as the impact on blast-resistant door increases and radical deformation occurs, there is not much difference in the deflection of the door.
