In this study, We have evaluated the applicability of the substructuring technique to reducing the computational cost of a three-dimensional analysis of a vehicle-track structure dynamic interaction. When the substructuring technique is applied properly to the three-dimensional dynamic interaction analysis, computational cost can be greatly cut down without loss in accuracy.

In this study, a contact node and a penalty spring were introduced at the bottom of the contact spring, and the track irregularity effect was implemented. Through this present approach, the non-linearity of the contact spring can be expressed using non-linear spring elements of ANSYS itself. The applicability of the improved analysis technique has been verified through various demonstrated cases. A stable solution was obtained even for a problem where the contact spring’s non-linearity changed rapidly.

Recently, fiber-reinforced concrete has been commonly applied to floor slabs. Therefore, this study introduces a program that can determine an optimum content of fibers incorporated in concrete accounting for the flexural and punching shear capacities, as well as serviceability conditions in the design of fiber-reinforced concrete floor slabs.

All the structures include initial imperfections that can affect the structural behavior and stability, particularly during construction. Therefore, for a concrete beam with an initial lateral deformation, creep analysis was performed to evaluate the influence of the initial imperfection on the creep deformation of the beam in the both vertical and lateral directions.

In this study, preliminary analytical study on the middle scale impact test of SC(steel plate concrete) walls were carried out to evaluate the impact resistance performance of SC walls subjected to missile impact load. A total of 15 middle-scale impact tests will be carried out to investigate the impact behavior of SC walls. Pre-test impact analysis for all test cases were performed to decide the initial impact velocity. Calibrations of the analytical parameter were performed using preliminary test results.

A new index for the buckling strength of non-structured plates is proposed. The traditional method of evaluating buckling strength involves inconsistancies of stress distribution while new method of checking the energy variance always provides consistent and even results in any shape of member or load and boundary conditions.

In this paper, we research about integrated jacket support structure. The connection of the offshore wind support structure was designed based on the DNV-RP-C201 standard and the design of the appropriate type was derived through numerical calculation and finite element analysis of the stress paths of various connecting part type.

Reinforced concrete is used as a main construction because it is excellent durability and strength. However, the problem of durability decrease due to enlargement, high-rise of structures and the cracking due to external force nowadays. Therefore, there is studying on the Textile Reinforced Concrete(TRC), which reinforcing bar changing into Textile. Also, studying on adhesion performance between concrete and Textile. Preceding studies have examined the adhesion performance of single fibers with no specific variable. It can not reflect about grid type and embedding length. Accordingly, on this study examines the change of bond strength according to bond length. As a result, the bond strength increased as the embedding length of the Textile increased, but there was not influence that the bond strength according to the lateral length.

The steel grid composite deck is a composite structure made of a concrete slab disposed over a steel grid. In this study, the punching shear strength obtained experimentally and the shear strength calculated by design equations of ACI 318 and Eurocode 2 are compared. The result shows that the experimental strength is best estimated by the design equation of Eurocode 2 which considers reinforcement ratio.

This study performed gas-gun propelled projectile impact tests with high strength steel fiber reinforced concrete. Also, from the impact tests, failure modes and protection performances of HIgh Performance Concrete which is reinforced by steel fibers were assessed. High strength steel fiber reinforced concrete showed excellent protection performances against impact loads.

A minimum reinforcement ratio is an important factor to prevent a brittle failure for RC flexural members. In this paper, a parametric study of minimum reinforcement ratio is performed according to concrete strength, steel yield strength and cover depth ratio for each design provisions. A minimum reinforcement ratio using a stress-strain model is suggested. And results show that this mode is able to reflect material strength and cross-section properties properly.

This paper attempts to manipulate brittle shear failure in reinforced concrete deep beam which has shear span-to-depth ratio, a/d=2.0 with aid of lattice model. Timoshenko beam type of lattice model was basically used for reinforcing steel in order to incorporate the dowel action. Truss type of lattice model was applied for plain concrete domain using union-jack type of structured mesh. Mesh sensitivity analyses focused with varying different level of unit union-jack block discretization.

Its stucutral performance can be decreased due to corrosion damage under severe corrosion environment In this study, to examine the compression performance of steel tubular member depending on corrosion thickness, damaged ratio, FE analyses were conducted and compared.

A finite element analysis modeling is proposed to evaluate welding joint part of steel-frame. Based on the experimental results, A finite element analysis model was proposed to analyze the welding joint of steel-frame specimens. The numerical results predicted the experimental behavior of the welding joint of steel-frame specimens well. Therefore, it is possible to use the proposed finite element analysis model to evaluate middleand low-rise steel-frame buildings constructed in South Korea.

This study examined the ductile behavior of hybrid steel-reinforced concrete beam systems under reversed cyclic lateral loads. All specimens showed a high ductile performance with the displacement ductility ratio of more than 4.6, regardless of the details of dowel reinforcement at the joint region of the developed hybrid beam system.

Tributary area based-lumped mass model is a simplified modeling technique and it is popularly adopted in earthquake engineering for the evaluation of seismic performance of structures. However, the technique provides somewhat less accuracy due to its different frequencies and mode shapes, compared to the detailed FE model. For the basic understanding this study investigates the sensitivity of the lumped mass locations on the mode shapes and modal participation factors, considering a cantilever typed column structure.

This research was introduced new structural design of atypical irregular beams by applying UHPC which has the compressive strength of 80-200MPa, the tensile strength of 10-20MPa, and strain of 1.0-5.0%. There beam specimen were smaller than actual member in building and new forms created to construction the specimens. The specimens evaluated and the newly irregular beams could improve bending performance by 2.56 times compared to the conventional RC beams.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the compressive strengths of charcoal concrete. Compression experiment was conducted for specimens with various replacement ratio (0%, 10%, 20%) of charcoal. From the test results, it was shown that the compressive strengths of charcoal concrete were reduced with increasing replacement ratio of charcoal.

The failure of piping in nuclear power plants and various plant facilities is mainly caused by vibration due to fluid pressure, dead load, temperature expansion and earthquake load in the pipe. Repeated stresses due to vibration cause local fatigue failure on pipe joints where stress is concentrated, which is a factor that hinders the safety of the structure. Therefore, the vibration problem is solved by installing devices to solve the vibration problem in the pipe where vibration frequently occurs. In this study, we developed a damper that damps the dynamic load generated by piping using the friction pendulum principle, and analyzed the behavior curve of the MER-Spring specimen to be used.
