Myosin is considered as the vital motor protein in vertebrates and invertebrates. Our present study was conducted to decipher the occurrence of myosin in dog fish (Squalus mitsukurii). We isolated one clone containing 979 bp cDNA sequence, which consisted of a complete coding sequence of 453 bp and a deduced amino acid sequence of 150 amino acids from the open reading frame with molecular weight, isoelectric point and aliphatic index are 16.72 Kda, 4.49 and 78.00, respectively. It contained 428 bp long 3' UTR with single potential polyadenylation signals (AATAAA). The predicted EF CA2+ binding domains were identified in residue 6-41, 83-118 and 133-150. A BLAST search indicates this protein exhibits a strong similarity to whale shark (Rhincodon typus) MLC3 (91% identical) and also house mouse (Mus musculus) MLC isoform 3f (81% identical). Phylogenetic analysis revealed that this protein is a MLC 3 isoform like protein. This protein also demonstrates highly conserved region with other myosin proteins. Homology modeling of S. mitsukuri was performed using crystal structure of Gallus gallus skeletal muscle myosin II based on high similarity. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (PCR), quantitative PCR results exhibits dogfish myosin protein is highly expressed in muscle tissue.

This study investigated cytogenetic and hematological and histological characteristics between diploid and spontaneous triploid on Cyprinidae (Crucian carp, Carassius auratus; crucian carp, C. cuvieri and common carp, Cyprinus carpio) in four major rivers of Korea. In our results, DNA contents of triploid Cyprinidae were 50% more than those of diploid Cyprinidae. Also, erythrocyte size of triploid Cyprinidae was 50% larger than those of diploid Cyprinidae. In all sampling rivers, sex ratios of C. auratus were biased to female, and especially, triploid groups of C. auratus were all female groups (p <0.05). In principle, sex ratios of C. cuvieri and common carp were equivalent between male and female.

본 연구는 울릉도 수산자원 감소 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안 중 하나로서 정치성 구획어업의 도입을 위한 시험 연구를 수행하였다. 시험용 어구인 삼각망은 울릉도 해역의 환경, 운영 및 관리 비용, 소형 어선 및 인력이 운영할 수 있는 조건을 고려하여 선정하였다. 2017년 4월부터 5월까지 삼각망을 이용하여 11회 어획 조사한 결과, 총 개체수는 2,735개체, 중량은 983.4 kg 으로 계측되었으며, 우점종은 참돔, 방어, 넙치, 한치, 전갱이, 쥐치류 등으로 조사되었다. 조사 기간 중 유용 수산자원은 어류의 경우 조피볼락(Sebastes schlegelii), 볼락(S. inermis), 개볼락(S. pachycephalus), 쑤기미(Inimicus japonicus), 노래미(Hexagrammos agrammus), 농어목 어류 붉 바리(Epinephelus akaara), 참돔(Pagrus major) 그리고 말쥐치(Thamnaconus modestus)로 분류 되었으며, 두족류인 한치(Uroteuthis chinensis)의 어획량이 많은 것으로 분석되었다. 울릉도의 주요 수산자원 중 하나인 살오징어의 생산량이 지속적으로 감소할 경우, 삼각망과 같은 소형 정치성 구획어업의 도입은 어민 수입 창출의 대체 수단으로 유용할 것으로 판단된다.

부산시 천성항 내 훼손이 예상되는 거머리말 서식지의 복원을 위해서 기존 서식지의 현황조사 를 실시하고 인근 두문리 해안에 대체서식지를 조성하여 모니터링을 실시하였다. 2014년 1월 항내 자생하는 거머리말은 수심 1.2∼3.1 m의 범위에서 출현하였고, 수온은 7.4℃, 염분은 29.1 psu, pH는 8.05를 나타냈다. 거머리말의 서식밀도는 167.1±16.4 shoots m-2로 조사되었고, 총길 이 48.5±18.1 cm, 엽초길이 9.1±2.8 cm, 엽폭 4.8±1.1 cm로 조사되었다. 2014년 12월에 이식을 실시한 후 다음해 8월까지 모니터링을 실시하였다. 이식 초기 서식밀도는 감소하여 1월에 8.5 shoots patch-1 값을 나타낸 이후 점차 증가하여 4월에 19.0 shoots patch-1 까지 증가하였다. 총 길이는 73.3±2.9∼121.3±6.1 cm, 엽초길이는 9.6±0.6∼21.0±1.2 cm, 엽폭은 5.7±0.1∼6.8±0.2 mm 로 조사되었고 측정값은 7월까지 꾸준히 증가하다 8월 이후에 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 천성항 내 거머리말 서식지와 이식 초기 대체서식지에서 관찰되지 않았던 생식지(flowering shoot)가 2015년 3월부터 나타나기 시작하여 모니터링 기간 동안 계속 관찰되었으며, 2016년 조사 시 생식지의 씨앗에서 발아한 거머리말을 대체서식지에서 관찰할 수 있었다.

대형저서동물에서 우점하고 있는 갯지렁이류는 퇴적층의 유기물 섭취를 통하여 저질환경개선 에 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 연구에서는 최근 양식기술이 개발된 바위털갯지렁이를 이용하여 갯 벌 퇴적층의 유기물 제거효과를 검토하였다. 이를 위하여 입자특성이 다른 세종류의 저질환경 (S1: 강사질, S2: 해사질, S3: 니사질)에서 해수 및 퇴적층의 TOC를 측정하였다. 바위털갯지렁이 는 세종류의 입자특성에서 모두 유기물 제거효과를 나타내었으며, 입자가 클수록 제거율이 높 았다. 유기물 정화능력을 정량적으로 평가한 결과 바위털갯지렁이는 각 저질별로 강사질에서 3.9856 ppm g-1d-1, 해사질에서 2.8021 ppm g-1d-1, 그리고 니사질에서 28.1142 ppm g-1d-1의 제거능력을 나타내었다. 본 연구결과는 바위털갯지렁이가 다양한 저질에서 유기물 제거에 기 여하고 있음을 보여 주었다.
