        For the austenitic stainless steel (304L) manufactured by metal injection molding(MIM), the effects of copper content and sintering temperature on the mechanical properties, antibacterial activities, corrosion resistance, and electric resistances were investigated. The specimens were prepared by injection molding of the premixed powders of water-atomized 304 L and Cu with poly-acetyl binders. The green compacts were prepared with various copper contents from 0 to 10 wt.% Cu, which were debound thermally at 873 K for 7.2 ks in gas atmosphere and subsequently sintered at various temperatures from 1323 K to 1623 K for 7.2 ks in Ar gas atmosphere. The relative density and tensile strength of the sintered compacts showed the minimum values at 5 and 8 wt.% Cu, respectively. Both the relative density and the tensile strength of the specimen with 10 wt.% Cu sintered at 1373 K showed the highest values, higher than those of copper-free specimen. Antibacterial activities investigated by the plastic film contact printing method for bacilli and the quantitative analysis of copper ion dissolved in water increased as the increase of the copper content to stainless steels. It was also verified by the measurement of pitting potential that the copper addition in 304 L could improve the corrosion resistance. Furthermore the electric conductivity increased with the increase of copper content.

        IEC 60300의 국제 규격은 시간종속성 경영 시스템의 규격으로써 제 1부는 시간종속성 경영 프로그램, 제 2부는 시간종속성 프로그램 구성요소와 업무, 제 3부는 응용지침 표준의 13개의 규격으로 구성되어 있다. 이 규격은 제품의 초기 단계서부터 폐기 단계까지 수명주기 전 단계에 걸쳐 운영의 효율성, 시간, 비용의 제약 하에 위험을 최소화하고 안전성을 최적화하기 위한 지침을 제공한다. 본 연구에서는 현재 2003년 규격 제정을 목표로 개정중인 IEC 60300-1과 IEC 60300-2의 2001년 11월 CDV를 참고로 IEC 규격의 개정방향에 대한 연구를 하려한다.

        We present UBVI CCD photometry of the stellar contents and globular cluster(GC) candidates in the spiral galaxy NGC 300 in the Sculptor group. Color-magnitude diagrams for 18 OB associations having more than 30 member stars are presented. The slope of the initial mass function for the bright stars in NGC 300 is estimated to be Γ = -2.6 ± 0.3. Assuming the distance to NGC 300 of (m - M)o = 26.53 ± 0.07, the mean absolute magnitude of three brightest blue stars is obtained to be < MvBSG (3) > = -8.95 mag. We have performed search for GCs in NGC 300 and have found 17 GC candidates in this galaxy. Some characteristics of these GC candidates are discussed.

        The molecular cloud associated with the H II region S301 has been mapped in the J = 1-0 transitions of 12CO and 13CO using the 13.7 m radio telescope of Taeduk Radio Astronomy Observatory. The cloud is elongated along the north-south direction with two strong emission components facing the H II region. Its total mass is 8.7 × 10 3 M⊙. We find a velocity gradient of the molecular gas near the interface with the optical H II region, which may be a signature of interaction between the molecular cloud and the H II region. Spectra of CO, CS, and HCO+ exhibit line splitting even in the densest part of the cloud and suggests the clumpy structure. The radio continuum maps show that the ionzed gas is distributed with some asymmetry and the eastern part of the H II region is obscured by the molecular cloud. We propose that the S301 H II region is at the late stage of the champagne phase, but the second generation of stars has not yet been formed in the postshock layer.

        Since Goldreich and Julian's pioneering work in 1969, the pulsar magnetosphere theory has been dramatically developed for theorists to possess an elegant axisymmetric, stationary model. Based on this development the black hole magnetosphere theory has also been established in the last 30 years. Such theoretical developments will be reviewd equation by equation in this paper.

        In order to clarify the enhanced sintering behavior of nanostructured(NS) W-Cu powder prepared by mechaincal alloying, the sintering behavior during heating stage was analysed by a dilatometry with various heating rates. The sintering of NS W-Cu powders was characterized by the densification of two stages, having two peaks in shrinkage rate curves. The temperature at which the first peak appear was much lower than Cu melting point, and dependent on heating rate. On the basis of the shrinkage rate curves and the microstructural observation, the coupling effect of nanocrystalline W-grain growth and the liquid-like behavior of Cu phase was suggested as a possible mechanism for the enhanced sintering of NS W-Cu powder in the state.

        본 연구에서는 오스테나이트계 스테인리스 강재(STS 304)에 대해 NaCl 환경 중에서 틈부식 특성을 연구하기 위해, 정전압 분극장치에 의해 분극특성시험을 실시하여 NaCl 용액의 농도에 따른 STS 304 강재의 틈부식에 의한 분극 거동에 대해 연구한 결과는 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1) 틈부위는 심하게 부식되고 틈의 인접한 외부 표면은 부동태화된다. 2) 오스테나이트계 스테인리스강재인 STS 304 강재는 분극거동에 있어서 부식 전위는 3.5% NaCl까지 농도가 증가할수록 귀전위화되다가 농도가 3.5%이상으로 증가할수록 오히려 비전위화된다. 3) 부식 전위하에 전류밀도는 NaCl 농도가 3.5%까지 증가할수록 더 많이 배류되다가 3.5% 이상으로 증가할수록 오히려 더 적게 배류된다.(이 논문의 결론(요약) 부분임)

        This study proposes to venture into the common elements and differences in both W.B. Yeats’s and Derek Walcott’s poems. It has been said that the young Walcott was sympathetic to the Irish writers, such as Synge, Pearce, Yeats, and Joyce, because he intended to make himself master of the themes and rhythms of the exile or castaway that the Irish writers echoed in their works. Of the Irish writers, Yeats was especially a poet who a little more previously wrote of the same issue as the young Walcott tried to and the young poet’s attention was deeply caught in the Yeatean poetics, more specifically, in the Yeatean mask which echoes a solitary self as an artist. Walcott’s Crusoe as a poetic self echoes the Yeatean mask. More specifically, it is a parallel for a poet with his daily ritual of the poet creating a new poem in the desperately isolated island. It is believed to be created by Walcott’s comparing himself and his own country to Yeats and Ireland in terms of an exile, a castaway or a lost self, which reflects a solitary and artistic figure in his poems, such as in “Crusoe’s Island” and “As John To Patmos”. Despite this fact, Walcott is also a poet who has built up the self-figure on a different base from Yeats’s heroic or aristocratic self. His poems are based on the Caribbean multi-racial background characteristic of slavery, poverty, lost hope, and lost identity that have resulted from the colonial policy of the British government that stepped into the Spanish and the French shoes. His Caribbean figure is a poverty-stricken, obedient, but patient, willful castaway, with his thick lips tightly closed. Although Walcott is a poet who has developed his own poetic self on the Yeatean base, which resulted in his fruitful poems, it is believed that he made greater efforts to weave the Caribbean spirit into poems than others. Then, the Caribbean tropical landscapes, such as sea, wood, and sun, etc. are a poetic space which sublimated his themes into the Caribbean soul.
