        The static aerodynamic forces are composed of six components. Three components of them such as drag force, lift force and pitching moment are the biggest influence on the structure. These aerodynamic forces are generally evaluated from wind tunnel test or CFD. In this study, drag and lift force coefficients are estimated using relation of actual and analytical displacements. The actual displacements are measured by monitoring system when the bridges were under the typhoon. The analytical displacements due to uniform load are calculated by FEM. Also, the adequacy of estimation method was conformed by comparing the result of this study with that from the wind tunnel test of the similar bridge section.

        The suspension bridge’s main cable requires regular checks for the decrease on the axial forces of the cable band bolts. In this paper, basic concepts are presented for the approach on the management of cable band bolts in suspension bridges. In additions, the reasons for the decrease of axial forces are investigated with various aspects and some measurement methods for the axial forces are presented as well.

        The investigation has been carried out for the design criteria of ship impact protection which installed for the off-shore bridge in Iksan regional Construction and Management Administration. From these investigation, it has been found out that various design criteria are applied for the off-shore bridges in Korea. However some bridges do not have clear design criteria on the fender for bridges.

        This study represented simulation that analyzes extreme load effect based on reasonable probability model reflected actual traffic characteristics on a bridge. Through its simulation, vehicular loads for load carrying capacity assessment were developed by considering traffic characteristics and remaining service life, various structure. According to the analysis results on traffic characteristics through its simulation, extreme load effect tended to increase as the traffic volume and heavy vehicle proportion increase.

        Structural damping includes material damping, friction effects at bearing and expansion joints, friction at bolted joints and mechanical damping by damper. There is not analytical basis for estimating the damping ratios. Structural damping ratios can be estimated by measuring forced vibration amplitude of a certain mode but it is almost impossible to vibrate the actual bridges to a certain mode by force. Therefore, RD technique utilizing a lot of ambient vibration data can be a practical method to estimate damping ratio. In this study, the damping ratio is estimated by analyzing the ambient vibration data of three steel cable stayed bridges.

        Based on the study of bridge live loads and traffic modes for using WIM datas, it was found that the structural integrity of bridges was damaged by overloaded heavy vehicles. The objective of the study is to investigate the statistical characteristics of vehicle loadings based on survey data collected, in which some major factors, such as vehicle configurations, vehicle weights, traffic modes, etc., are incorporated. The vehicle load effects due to single presence of heavy truck are also tested with several short- span bridges and probabilistic characteristics of current design practices are evaluated.

        The trend of heaviness causes the increase in the number of overloaded vehicles on a bridge, which is a difficulty in the decision of design live load. However, there is no established system to control the overloaded vehicles. In this paper, a management system to control the total number of heavy vehicles on a bridge using BWIM. The traffic management system uses the control methods based on approaching time intervals.

        Degree of damage of the bridge and safety level is closely related to the characteristics of the lifetime maximum load effect that occur on the bridge. Maximum load effect is dominated by traffic characteristics such as heavy vehicle composition and daily traffic volume. The purpose of the study is to analyze the structural characteristics of vehicle loading based on survey data collected, in which some major factors, such as vehicle configurations, vehicle wieghts, traffic modes by the probabilistic approach. Then, this study perform analysis of the safety level as compared with design criteria domestic highway bridges the current regulations are enclosed.

        This report analyzed the types of damage occurring in small scale safety vulnerable buildings inspected in 2012, by both structural types and elapsed time. The results of the analysis show that more than 70% of damage on finishing or usability by non-structural elements is recoverable for its intended performance. Facilities over 20 years from compleetion have more than a 30% structure damage ratio, than can be dangerous for structural safety, and requires periodic check-ups and repair/reinforcement work to recover its performance.
