        We have developed a control electronics system for an infrared detector array of KASINICS (KASI Near Infrared Camera System), which is a new ground-based instrument of the Korea Astronomy and Space science Institute (KASI). Equipped with a 512×512 InSb array (ALADDIN III Quadrant, manufactured by Raytheon) sensitive from 1 to 5μm, KASINICS will be used at J, H, Ks, and L-bands. The controller consists of DSP(Digital Signal Processor), Bias, Clock, and Video boards which are installed on a single VME-bus backplane. TMS320C6713DSP, FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array), and 384-MB SDRAM(Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory) are included in the DSP board. DSP board manages entire electronics system, generates digital clock patterns and communicates with a PC using USB 2.0 interface. The clock patterns are downloaded from a PC and stored on the FPGA. UART is used for the communication with peripherals. Video board has 4 channel ADC which converts video signal into 16-bit digital numbers. Two video boards are installed on the controller for ALADDIN array. The Bias board provides 16 dc bias voltages and the Clock board has 15 clock channels. We have also coded a DSP firmware and a test version of control software in C-language. The controller is flexible enough to operate a wide range of IR array and CCD. Operational tests of the controller have been successfully finished using a test ROIC (Read-Out Integrated Circuit).

        The reimaging optics of the KASINICS (KASI Near Infrared Camera System) includes many transparent components like an entrance window, band-pass filters, and blocking filters. As observational targets or in-field background objects, bright stars may cause optical ghosts that can significantly degrade the system performance of the KASINICS. We estimated analytically the relative brightness of ghost components with respect to a point source and examined the effects of tilting optical components as a method of suppressing ghosts. We also performed numerical ray tracings including all the optical components and found the results are consistent with those of the analytic estimations. We conclude that the KASINICS will not suffer from significant ghost effects with appropriate anti-reflection coatings and fittings for the optical components.

        본 연구는 국도및 고속도로상에 설치되어 있는 철제 오성방호책인 가아드레일의 동력학적 거동분석을 4개의 설계변수, 즉 보와 지주의 단면형상 충돌시의 차량속도, 충돌각도 및 차량중량에 따라 BARRIER VII프로그램을 사용하여 수행하였다. 컴퓨터 모의해석 프로그램인 BARRIER VII은 비교적 정교한 것으로 실제의 실물충돌시험 결과와 근접한 결과를 보여줄 뿐 아니라 경제적인 이유로 차량과 방호책의 상호작용을 해석하는데 실물충동시험 대신에 많이 사용된다. 본 연구의 주된 관심은 구조적 적합성, 탑승자 위험도와 차량의 궤적이라 할 수 있다. 이 목적을 위해 최대처짐 및 최대충격력이 계신되어 안전노변대 설계와 충격완화 효과를 분석하는데 사용된다. 본 연구의 결과로부터 도로상의 대형참사를 예방하기 위해서는 가아드레일의 설계기순을 보다 강화할 필요가 있다고 판단된다.

        The evaluation for the status and levels of tension acting on a cable supported structure has been a issue due to the structural stability. Each of strands comprising that structures is adopted prestress, the tension level of the strand during the operation is a significant factor for structural integrity of the system. However, a suitable alternative for measurement of tension acting on a strand is not proposed, as well as conservative assessment of cable system is bing adopted in industrial application. Thus, in this paper, a new method is proposed for measurement of tensile forces in a strand using guided waves. This method use a dispersion characteristic of guided waves with variation of stiffness between each of wires. Proposed method is experimentally verified by some experiments using a seven-wire strand.

        The main objective of this paper is a feasibility Study for measuring tensile forces in the steel wire which are widely used in various types of prestressed structures. A steel wire serves as a load-bearing element, and electromagnetic-acoustic transducers are used to excite and detect resonant vibrational modes. The results show a promising feasibility on measurement of tensile forces in the steel wire.

        The loss of prestress in cable supported structure is a direct cause of structural deterioration of the structure. Thus, measurement and evaluation of the tensile force acted on a strand consist of the cable system have been a significant technological factor. However, a measurement method of tension for each of strands is not proposed, as well as conservative assessment of cable system is bing adopted in industrial application. This paper proposes a new and effective method for measurement of tensile force in a strand based on ultrasound. Electromagnetic acoustic transducer(EMAT) is used for generation of ultrasound. Tensile force acting on a strand can be measured by characterization of guided waves that propagate along the boundary of geometry. Consequently, proposed method is experimentally verified by some experiments using seven-wire strand.

        The late-maturing black rice cultivar Shinnongheugchal from Jeollabuk-do Agricultural Research and Extension Service was used as the plant material for estimating growth characters, quality and yield from the vegetation period to harvest age. This study was performed to select an optimum combination of nitrogen level and planting density for the maximum yield of Shinnongheugchal. The plant height, number of tillers, and SPAD index were higher when the combination of 70 hills per 3.3 m 2 and 13 kg/10 a nitrogen level was used at 30 days after transplanting. The heading date for the combination of 70 hills per 3.3 m 2 and 15 kg/10 a nitrogen level, and 80 hills per 3.3 m 2 and 15 kg/10 a nitrogen level was August 22. The heading date for the other combinations was August 21. The combination of 70 hills per 3.3 m 2 and 13 kg/10 a nitrogen level yielded the highest number of tillers at 40 days after flowering. Even though the lodging index was increased with increasing nitrogen levels, field lodging did not occur until harvest time. Seed nitrogen concentration in the combination of 70 hills per 3.3 m 2 and 13 kg/10 a nitrogen level showed a significant difference when compared with the other combinations. The black rice yield varied significantly, and the highest yield was observed in the combination of 70 hills per 3.3 m 2 and 13 kg/10 a nitrogen level. The yield was significantly correlated with seed nitrogen concentration. The maximum yield was estimated to be 14.67 kg/10 a nitrogen level by using the regression equation. On average, the coloring degree of the black rice was higher at planting density of 70 hills per 3.3 m 2 than at 80 hills per 3.3 m 2 . The highest yield of perfect black rice was obtained using the combination of 70 hills per 3.3 m 2 and 13 kg/10 a nitrogen level. Our findings demonstrate that a nitrogen level of 13-14 kg/10 a can be used to obtain the maximum yield from Shinnongheugchal with yield, cyanidin 3-glucoside content, and perfect black rice yield as the standard.
