Chinese traditional residential buildings have the characteristics of diversification. Because of the vast land of China, different geographical environment, production and life and religion directly created a living culture of different ethnic and geographic, so that Chinese traditional dwellings have a variety of features. These diverse Traditional Dwellings architecture is an important historical and cultural heritage, but also has a high technical and artistic value. The Beijing traditional quadrangles and the Jilin Korean Nationality dwellings are representative buildings in North China and Northeast China, and they are subject to different geographical factors and the impact of climatic factors, and therefore have their own geographical features. In addition, they also have differences in cultural customs, traditions and folklore materials. These differences also reflect the different cultures living.

Heated Kangas one of the most important elements of the northeast mral residence, formed a unique 11 mode ofheated brick bed 11 and 11 culture ofheated brick bed 11 in the long history of more than two thousand years. Kang bed-stove has many functions, for example, heating residential, communication, emotion and so on. It connects heat able adobe sleeping platform in its outside and links chimney in its inside. With the progress of technology and the renewal ofthe concept, based on the traditional heated brick bed, people have made some beneficial attempts to change and have introduced some new heated brick bed: Suspended Kang, energy saving kang and so on. All new heated brick beds both retain the traditional heated brick bed's functions, and conform to the requirements of sustainable development planning. new heated brick beds are the combination oftraditional culture and the new technology. This paper ba<;es on rural housing of northeast area as the research object, discusses the connotation, forms and types, heating means of traditional heated brick bed and the evolution of new type of Heated Kang.

This study is Korean traditional heating system, named 'AZABANG'. Ondol characterized by“ Azabang ”is dated back to 119 AD and it has approximately 2000 years history. Among various kinds of traditional radiant floor heating system, Ondol is the most reasonable and scientific one. This type of imaginative Ondol which have superior ability to keep temperature during a long period, roughly 100 days could be attributable to the special structural pattern . The Ondol characterized by "Azabang" represents extraordinary creativeness originated from Korean traditional culture and at the same time, it is the significant evidence that those missing historical rings, in some degree, have been connected. Therefore we well do our best to apply the scientific and reasonable concept into the real world.

The most famous ethnic minorities in northeast China are manchu ,korean,and mongolian. Besides Xibo, daur, ewenki, olunchun, and hezhen nationalities are only living in northeast China.This paper is a comparison analysis of Ondol in Folk Housing of Several Peoples in Northeast China from the morphological characteristics and residential culture. Ultimately enable readers to realize heating tools in the cold region in northern China, and the relationship between peoples’daily life in northern China and Ondol.

Human races have used various heating methods, since fire was founded in the world. It is very the important work to trace the history of Ondol, which originated and developed in the Korean peninsula. Especially, the study on ancient Ondol would contribute to improving the present heating methods and predicting future ones. In this paper, we shall study through the analysis of documents such as oriental ancient documents, the document of Choseon dynasty, Europe documents and American documents. In order to discover the origins of Ondol as one of the excellent heating method all over the world, This study aims at identifying the history of Ondol and characteristics in the Korean peninsula, through document analysis. Results of this study are as follows. 1) The first record about Ondol is related to Ondol at Kwankyesa in the border land between Gogooryo and the northeast of China. 2) Ondol built in the period of Balhae dynasty had single flue(Hanjool Gorae) and double flue(Doojool Gorae). 3) The overspreading of Ondol made the quality of Ondol poor in the last of Choseon dynasty. 4) If the layout of Bulmok had been poor, it might have caused the backflow of fire. 5) Korean Ondol has been used as a heating method for a long time and the period is longer than that of the west.

This paper describes the traditional Ondol medical care, the specific combination of ancient and contemporary examples to be articulated. As a traditional Korean culture, to be extracted from the historical perspective, it described the relationship and origins between them, From a health perspective, in accordance with the logic and pharmacologyit introduced Ondol as the important principle of health care equipment. The modern architecture of some common harmful to the body, from the perspective of Ondol, it should be improved and based on scientific proof to the theory.

This study is for analyzing a house and underfloor heating systems called gudle of Korean Chinese, Manchurian and Chinese that are located in the northeast China, which is north of Korean peninsula. Thus it has the similarity and difference among the form of gudle of each folks. The basic form of gudle in Manchurian area of China differs and falls into four categories: U-shaped kang, L-shaped kang, /-shaped kang and whole gudle(gudle that is composed of the whole place). In case of U-shaped kang, it is a basic form of Manchurian and designed for protecting cold weather in northeast area. U-shaped kang has a long space that can be heated so that it enables as many as family members to sleep. It has the advantage of making the best use of space. The form of Chinese is /-shaped kang. As Chinese has traditionally lifestyle of chair sitting culture, so it has the form of tonggudle, or a room equipped with gudle unlike yoegudle that a fire was made under a stone like goindoel and is suitable for lifestyle of chair sitting culture. As for the kang of Korean Chinese, it is called gudle and has the largest in width compared with that of Manchurian and Chinese. Also, the height of gudle is much lower than other houses by about 30~40cm because Korean Chinese have been living "floor sitting culture"on gudle, which means the tradition of removing one's shoes before entering and sitting on the floor, while other folks like Manchurian has lifestyle of "chair sitting culture". Therefore the study found out that the folk housing of each tribe in the northeast China has similarity and difference at the same time. In particular, the form and size of gudle(kang) varies depending on the way of life.

Ondol is a traditional heating system in Korea. After new building type, apartment was introduced from western world around 1960, there have been dynamic changes in heating system in apartment. At first, designers supposed that apartment should match to the stand-up-living-style and the radiator system regardless traditional life style. Dwellers, however, didn't accept such a heating system even though the increase of the use of standing type furnitures such as bed, sofa, table, sink etc. Nowadays, Ondol is facilitated to the entire of the home even to the living room and dining/kitchen which radiator system was supposed to be accepted by designers. This try and error process shows that heating system is not only the physical facility itself, but also the cultural element reflecting the properties of way of life. And also it prove that one culture can not substitute the other culture, but merely conflict, mediated each other.
