ZnS- composite is normally used for sputtering target. In recent years, high sputtering power for higher deposition rate often causes crack formation of the target. Therefore the target material is required that the sintered target material should have high crack resistance, excellent strength and a homogeneous microstructure with high sintered density. In this study, raw ZnS and ZnS- powders prepared by a 3-D mixer or high energy ball-milling were successfully densified by spark plasma sintering, the effective densification method of hard-to-sinter materials in a short time. After sintering, the fracture toughness was measured by the indentation fracture (IF) method. Due to the effect of crack deflection by the residual stress occurred by the second phase of fine , the hardness and fracture toughness reached to 3.031 GPa and , respectively

The sintering behavior and mechanical property of Mo nanopowder was investigated as a function of various sintering condition. Mo oxide nanopowders were milled using a high energy ball-milling process. After the ball milling for 20h, the crystalline size of was about 20 nm. The nanopowders were reduced at the temperature of without holding time in atmosphere. The sinterability of Mo nanopowder and commercial Mo powder was investigated by dilatometric analysis. Mo nanopowder and commercial Mo powder were sintered at for 1 hand for 3 h, respectively. In both specimens the measured relative density was about 95%. But the measured hardness values were 2.34 GPa for nanopowder and 1.87 GPa for commercial powder. Probably due to finer grain size of the sintered body prepared from Mo nanopowder than that prepared using commercial Mo powder. The mean grain sizes were measured to be about 1.4 mm and 6.2 mm, respectively.

In recent years, a rapid increase in demands for the soft magnetic composite parts has been created and it has been tried to improve their properties by various processing methods, alloying elements and compaction parameters. Warm compaction method has been used for the reduction of residual stress, the improvement of magnetic properties and the higher densities. In this work, the effects of warm compaction and polymer binder on magnetic properties of Fe powder core were investigated. The sintering powder, Fe oxide, was ball-milled for 30n hours. And then ball-milled Fe oxide powder was reduced through hydrogen reduction process. The hydrogen reduced Fe powder and polymer binder were mixed by 3-D turbular mixer. And then the mixed powder was warm-compacted. The magnetic properties such as core loss and permeability were measured by B-H curve analyzer.

This work is to report not only the effect of rapid solidification of alloys on the micro-structure, but also the extrusion behavior on the materials properties. The average grain size of the atomized powders was about . The alloy powders of , consisted of I-Phase (Icosahedral, ) as well as Cubic structured W-Phase (), which was finely distributed within matrix. The oxide layer formed along the Mg surface was about 48 nm in thickness. In order to study the consolidation behavior of Mg alloy powders, extrusion was carried out with the area reduction ratio of 10:1 to 20:1. As the ratio increased, fully deformed and homogeneous microstructure could be obtained, and the mechanical properties such as tensile strength and elongation were simultaneously increased.

Various approaches have been proposed to increase the green density. Warm compaction method has been used for the reduction of residual stress, the improvement of magnetic properties and the higher densities. In this work, the effect of warm compaction on green density of Fe powder was investigated. After ball-milling of Fe oxide powder for 30 hours, Fe oxide powder was reduced through the hydrogen reduction process. The pure Fe powder and polymer binder were mixed by 3-D tubular mixer. And then the mixed powder was warm-compacted with various compaction pressure and binder contents. The green density of specimen was added polyvinyl binder was higher than any other specimens.

Magnetic properties of nanostructured materials are affected in complicated manner by their microstructure such as pain size (or particle size), internal strain and crystal structure. Thus, studies on the synthesis of nanostructured materials with controlled microstructure are necessary fur a significant improvement in magnetic properties. In the present work, nanostructured Fe-Co alloy powders with a grain size of 50 nm were successfully fabricated from the powder mixtures of (99.9% purity) and by chemical solution mixing and hydrogen reduction.

This study provided the status and efficiency of the domestic wastewater sea outfalls based on the previous numerical and experimental studies for the analysis of the buoyant discharges from Rosette diffuser in shallow water. The VISJET model and the hybrid model proposed by Kim (2002) can be proper models for the domestic sea outfalls. The experimental results show that the merging height for MBR and MIR depends on the riser diameter and spacing between risers, and the bending characteristics of the buoyant discharges in still ambient water have significant impacts on the dilution. The current wastewater outfall systems in Korea are not effective for the environmental aspect due to the low discharge water depth. The strategies to reduce the contamination near the domestic wastewater outfalls were found to require the sufficient discharge water depth, proper diffuser location considering the tidal currents, enough riser diameter, and sufficient spacing between risers.
