온실에서 재배되는 수입 알로에묘목에 알로에베라진딧물, Aloephagus myersi Essig, 이 채집되었다. 이 종의 원산지는 아프리카로 알려져 있고 수입된 식물을 통해 온실에 도입된 것으로 추정된다. 우리나라의 자연환경에 도입과 정착을 방지하기 위한 이들 종의 진단형질, 사진자료, 기주 및 분포정보를 제공하고자 한다.

온실에서 재배되는 수입 드라세나묘목 및 게발선인장에서 채집된 뿌리깍지벌레 2종 Ripersiella multiporifera Jansen 및 Rhizoecus albidus Goux를 우리나라에서 처음으로 보고한다. 이들은 수입된 식물을 통해 온실에 도입된 것으로 추정되며 우리나라에 추가적인 유입과 정착을 방지하기 위해 이들 종의 진단형질, 사진자료, 기주 및 분포정보를 제공하고자 한다.

This study assesses of efficiency of oocyte recovery and in vitro development for during the non breeding season in goat. Thirty-four matured goats, maintained in a pen under natural day length and fed hay ad libitum, were pretreated with progestagen implanted CIDR for 10 days. Superovulation treatment of the goats received twice daily intramuscular injections of a total of 70 mg FSH for 3 days from Day 8 of CIDR. All the gonadotropin treated goats were injected with 10 mg PGF2α on Day 8 and 400～600 IU hCG in the afternoon on Day 10. Oocytes were recovered by follicle aspiration or oviduct flushing at 35 to 40 h after hCG injection through mid-ventral incision. The in vivo matured oocytes were activated by ionomycin (5 min) and 6-DMAP (3.5～4 h). The activated oocytes were cultured in mSOF medium containing 0.8% BSA at 38.5℃ in an atmosphere of 5% CO2, 5% O2, 90% N2 for 7～8 days. There was no significant difference in the mean number of CL and in vivo matured and follicular oocytes recovered. But, quality of I+II grade follicular oocytes was lower (p<0.05) in the prepubertal goat (25.0%) than the adults (52.4%). The same results were also observed in the cleavage and blastocyst rate of activated oocytes. The clavage and blastocyst rate from prepubertal derived oocytes were lower (p<0.05) in the prepubertal goat (54.5%, 23.3%) than the adult goat (86.8%, 46.6%). Considering overall these results, we suggest that maturation of donor goats is a major factor affecting recovered oocytes quality and in vitro development of activated goat oocytes. There was no significant difference in oocyte quality between seasonal treatments.

The study aims to tind out the patterns of negotiation of meaning among non-native speakers in CMC environment, particularly in video conference mode. The two Chinese students and two Korean students participated in 12 video conference sessions and accomplished infonnation gap tasks for 6 weeks. The researchers compared the patterns of negotiation of meaning occurred during video conferencing of two group settings: the same ethnic group and the different ethnic group settings. The research results show that in the same ethnic groups, lexical errors and content triggered most meaning negotiations while content and phonological errors in the different ethnic group settings. There is a clear tendency to indicate non-understanding of a lexical trigger through a local indicator in the same ethnic group while global nonunderstanding indicators caused by phonological and content triggers occurred more frequently in the different ethnic groups. At the response stage, in the same ethnic groups, rephrasing and elaboration were the most commonly used strategies to minimize non-understanding whereas in different ethnic groups, about half the responses fa ll in the category of minimal. The effects of video conferencing as a CMC tool and the advantages of non-native interactions as a way to promote cross-cultural understanding were discussed based on research resu lts.

This study examines the relatively unexplored genre of argumentation for Korean EFL speakers. The data consisted of audio-recordings of a naturally occurring argumentative discussion between two non-native and two native university students. The argumentation was first analyzed by identifying the claims, counter-claims and supports that were made during the discussion. To observe the pragmatic aspects of the argumentative discussion, van Eemeren, Houtlosser, and Henkeman’s 2007 categorization of speech acts amongst the four stages of confrontation, opening, argumentation, and concluding for a critical discussion was examined for the two groups. In addition to the contextual and pragmatic factors, the participants’ perceptions on this genre and their awareness of their performance in stating claims and supports were examined through interviews and questionnaires. The results of the study revealed that there were particular pragmatic aspects which characterized the claims and supports of the participants that won the argument as well as features that differentiated the native and non-native speakers when engaged in argumentation. Suggestions for more instruction for the genre of argumentation in terms of the structure and pragmatic aspects of the content are given.

The purpose of this study was to explore the co-teaching experiences between native and non-native English teachers in the Korean elementary and secondary school context. Research data included classroom observations and teachers’ interviews collected over one school semester. A constant comparative data analysis method was employed to provide an in-depth description of the co-teachers’ teaching practice, the aspects of their interactions, and their professional development in a classroom setting. The findings of this study revealed that the co-teaching styles and role distributions in the co-teaching process were different depending on the non-native teachers’ English proficiency and their professional relationships. It also suggested that the successful implementation of collaborative team work was deeply related to the participating teachers’ willingness to cooperate and conceptions created by the dynamics of interaction between the two teachers in and outside of the classroom. Given the research result that both native and non-native teachers benefitted from their co-teaching experiences, some pedagogical implications on the improvement of co-teaching English in Korean classrooms are proposed.

한국어 교육은 국내와 국외, 한국어 원어민 교사와 한국어 비원어민 교사에 의해 발전하고 있다. 국외 한국어 교육이 발전하고 한국어 비원어민 교사가 증가하면서 이들에 대한 전문성 강화와 양성 및 활용 방안이 논의되고 있다. 국내에서 ‘한국어 교원 자격’ 제도는 2005년 시행된 이래 한국어 원어민 교사의 전문성을 강화하고 양성 하는 기준이 되었다. 한국어 비원어민 교사의 교육 및 양성에 ‘한국어 교원 자격’ 제도를 활용한다면 국외 한국어 교육과 한국어 비원어민 교사의 발전에 도움이 될 것이다.

A role of students' affective factors in assessing their non-native teachers of English. Studies in Modern Grammar This study investigated the relationship between non-native English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students’ perceptions of their non-native teachers and their own affective variables. A total of 189 subjects in this study responded to a Likert-type scale instrument that measured their self-directed learning behavior, anxiety, class participation, their perceived teachers’ teaching ability, closeness with their teachers, and anxiety aroused in the presence of their teachers. Following principal factor analyses to check the construct validity of each construct, canonical correlation analysis was performed to understand to what extent subjects’ perceptions of their non-native teachers of English can be related to their affective states are related. The results indicated that the two sets were moderately correlated in two functions with canonical coefficients 0.52 and 0.37, suggesting that perceptions of non-native teachers may be related to learners’ affective states. Further analyses showed that students who reported high on self-regulatory learning behavior and classroom participation were likely to feel that their teacher was close to them, were still likely to feel anxious, and tended to feel positive about their teacher’s teaching ability. In addition, this study found that students with low foreign language anxiety were likely to manifest low belief in their teacher’s teaching ability, were likely to feel distant from their teacher, and likely to have the fear of negative evaluation.

Non-native flora of the Ulleung island, located in the eastern part of South Korea, was surveyed as 54 taxa with 16 families, 35 genera, 53 species and 1 variety. Considering the geographical distribution aspects of the island, the flora of the island showed more closely related with Korean Peninsular than Japan. Poaceace (28%) and Asteraceae (24%) represents more than 50% of the non-native flora in Ulleung island, meaning that they have an advantage of seed dispersal and adaptation to new environments. Ulleung island is comparatively small island of vulnerable to the attack of invasive alien plants but presently, it has the least number of non-native plants than other areas in South Korea. Therefore, we need to take much interest in prevention and mitigation of non-native plant in the future.
