A marine brown alga was collected from Geoje, located on the southern coast of Korea. This species shares the generic features of Dictyota and is morphologically characterized by the combined features of erect or prostrate thallus with smooth margin, dichotomous to subdichotomous branches not twisted at the terminal part, absence of surface proliferations, 1-3 cell layered cortex and unilayered medulla, and lack of involucrum in sporangia subtended by a single stalk cell. In a phylogenetic tree based on rbcL sequences, this species nests in the same clade with Dictyota bartayresiana. The genetic distance between both sequences within the clade was calculated as 1.2%, considered to be within the intra-species range for the genus. Based on these morphological and molecular analyses, this Korean alga is identified as D. bartayresiana described originally from the West Indies. This is the first record of D. bartayresiana in Korea.

Asteroid specimens of the genus Diplopteraster were collected by trawling nets at a depth of 93 m on 05 November 2016 from the Korea Strait (33°41′N, 127°26′E). The specimens were identified as Diplopteraster multipes (M. Sars, 1866), which belongs to the family Pterasteridae, order Velatida. This species is similar to other Diplopteraster species in its pentagonal stellate shape, but is distinguished by having each paxilla composed of a protruded spine, more than eight spiracles, and regularly reticulated muscular bands. It is not commonly found in shallow water. This is the first report of the genus Diplopteraster and D. multipes in Korea.

Chalcididae Latreille, 1817 currently include 1,464 extant species in 87 genera in the world. This family is probably easy to define taxonomically. Body robust with coarse puncture, prepectus extremely narrow, hind femur typically swollen and on inner margin with one or more teeth. Members of this family are primary endoparasitoids on pupa of Diptera and Lepidoptera. Up to date, only 12 species of 6 genera belonging to three subfamilies have been recorded from South Korea. As a result of this study, six species (Chalcis sp. 1, Conura sp. 1, Haltichella cf. nipponensis Habu, Hockeria cf. bifasciata Walker, Proconura sp. 1 and Steninvreia cf. petiolata Bouček) in Chalcididae are recorded for the first time in South Korea. Among them four genera (Haltichella Spinola, Hockeria Walker, Proconura Dodd and Steninvreia Bouček) are recorded for the first time in South Korea. Therefore, 18 species of 10 genera in Chalcididae are recorded from South Korea.
