Adsorption experiments of binary mixed gases composed of acetone/methylethylketone (MEK), MEK/benzene, MEK/toluene, and benzene/toluene were carried out on activated carbon fixed-bed. The variations of equilibrium adsorption capacity according to type and fraction of binary gas were investigated. In case of binary gases composed of acetone/MEK and benzene/toluene, equilibrium adsorption capacities of MEK and toluene were increased according to the increase of fraction of MEK and toluene, but equilibrium adsorption capacities of acetone and benzene were decreased. In case of binary gases composed of MEK/benzene and MEK/toluene, equilibrium adsorption capacities of benzene and toluene were increased according to the increase of fraction of benzene and toluene, but equilibrium adsorption capacities of MEK was decreased.

To develop a material for functional food, the fraction Ⅰ,II and Ⅲ of onion extract were separated by Sephadex LH-20 column. The revealed purification levels of each fraction were 5.2%-6.5%, 12.2%-14.5% and 82.6%-86.7%, respectively. A functional activity test was performed with fraction Ⅲ. The ACE inhibition activity was about 50% at 5mg and about 80% at 10mg. The XOase inhibition activity of Korean Changnyong Daego was 84%, which was the highest. At the experiment of tyrosinase inhibition was detected 21-36% at 10mg. The cholesterol dose in mice blood was as low as low as 795(mg/100 mL) after the intake of fraction Ⅲ. Cholestrol dose in liver was decreased to below 50%. The results show that Sephadex LH-20 column method was very useful as a fraction method for the development of functional food material nsing onions.
The antimicrobial and glucosyltransferase(GTase) inhibition activity were searched for 30 species of various folk drugs and by products of food industry. Among them, two species, gallnut and red grape husk water extracts, were selected for the powerful antimicrobial and GTase inhibition activity. The polyphenol fractions of gallnut and red grape husk were showed very greater antimicrobial activity on both Gram(+) and (-), B. subtilis and E. coli. The minimum antimicrobial activity of gallnut polyphenol fraction were 1.0mg for B. subtilis and 3,0mg for E. coli. Red grape husk was 2.0mg for B. subtilis and 3.0mg for E coli. The polyphenol fractions of gall nut and red grape husk were showed powerful GTase inhibition activity. The concentrations of these fractions for 80% inhibition of GTase activity were 1.0810-3/mg/㎖ and 1.0810-2/mg/㎖, respectively. The most abundant compound in these fraction seems to be polyphenol derivatives. From these results, we think that the gallnut and the red grape husk polyphenol fraction had more antimicrobial and anti-plaque activities than artificial synthetic preservatives as an economic point of view.
Spraque-Dawley계 응성흰쥐에 계통분획한 cornsilk의 각 분획물을 경구투여하고 혈청 Ethanol농도와 간의 Alcohol dehydrogenase활서에 미치는 효과를 검색 추적한 결과 알코올대사를 촉진시키는 성분은 주로 에탄올가용부에, 억제시키는 성분은 에탄올불용부에 주로 존재함을 추정할 수 있었다.
Authers Investigated the particulate size distribution in work environment of Banwol and Changwon industry complex. Size distributions of particles exposured to workers in welding and in grounding process were evaluated by personal cascade impactors. Personal air samplers with personal cascade impactor were attached to the workers. The mass median diameter measured in welding sites were 0.3 to 3.8μm and in grinding sites were 1.5 to 2.6μm. Respirable matter fractions were ranged 32.67 to 65.05%. Respirable matter fractions were calculated from the size distribution data by the respirable particle mass of the ACGIH criteria. The study relating to characteristics of particle of other industries and particulate size distribution is more needed in the near future.
