In 1950-60s, anti-communism prevailed in Thailand. In order to effectively implement anti-communism, Thai government had anti-Chinese measures and censorship system. During that time, many Chinese Newspapers and publishers were forced to close , and some Sino-Thai writers were sent to prison. For continuing the development of Sino-Thai literature, writers had published works abroad, and Hong Kong was the main publishing place due to loose immigration policy and publishing conditions. Because of the British colonial policy and the Cold War structure, Hong Kong not only became a Chinese publishing base, but also a place of imagination for the West and consumer culture. This study tries to focus on three important and representative Sino-Thai novels, which were Chen Din’s Ladies of Sampeng Lane, Shih Qing’s Bo Zhe, and solitaire novel Feng Yu Yaowarat which were written by nine authors, discuss what kind of cultural conditions and resources does Hong Kong provide to Sino-Thai literature, and how does Sino-Thai novels respond to or imagine Hong Kong in their stories? This study regards Sino-Thai literature as a kind of Chinese literature (Hua-wen-wen-xue), which is different from the context of ‘pure Chinese’ and full of small and different Thai characteristics. Moreover, at the story level, these three novels reflect the rich faces of Sino-Thai communities, and at the publishing level, they represent the successful attempts of Sino-Thai literature to break through the predicament during the Cold War. 저
This paper is from the perspective of the modernity of the Cold War, examining and analyzing two works of Korean Chinese novels in the 1960s, “A different kind of feeling in my mind”(bie you yi fan zi wei zai xin tou) and “Yantai Story”(yan tai feng yun). Both of these two works show how Hanwha looked for self-coordinates in the changing times during the Cold War period. ‘What is the modernity’ is the dialectical issue in these novels. How do them reflect the issue from the social reality, transnational movement, utopian imagination? When modernity brings about changes in regional movement, cultural convergence, military technology, and economic activities, how do them imprint on the Korean Chinese? The overseas Chinese education policy that was born in response to the Cold War was not only a means for the regime to recruit overseas Chinese in the form of education subsidies, but also an opportunity for overseas Chinese to move across borders, engage in new trade patterns, and produce unique commodity cultures. On the other hand, when the war broke out, the confrontation between regimes became a fact. Korean Chinese learned the way of imagining China in popular novels and created an ideal utopia by this. Although it exists in the past time and space, it also embodies the helplessness of reality.
싱가폴은 사회 언어 환경의 변화로 인해 2004년과 2011년 두 차례의 대규모 중 국어 교육상 변화가 있었으며, 이는 “적게 가르치고 많은 것을 학습하자”에서 “즐 겁게 학습하고 실제 생활에 잘 적용하자”라는 방향으로 이루어졌다. 필자가 생각 하기에 이는 교수 전략상 매우 중요한 계기가 되었으나, 싱가폴에서의 중국어 한 자 교육의 핵심 문제인 “무엇을 학습하는가”(자종의 문제), “얼마나 학습하는가” (자량의 문제), “어떻게 학습하는가”(자서의 문제)에 대해서는 여전히 해결되지 않았다고 생각한다. 본문은 2007년 싱가폴에서 출판된 『小學華文』12권의 교재 중 핵심 단원 부분과 방과 후 독서 수업교재로 사용되는 『記憶像一個箱子』, 보충 교재인 『新朋友』, 『新天地』, 『新列車』등의 대표적 독해 읽기 자료, 중국어 신문인 『聯合早報』중의 국제, 국내, 교육 기사를 중심으로 한자의 빈도수를 조사하고, 이러한 네 종의 자료를 이용하여 코퍼스 데이터베이스를 구축하며, 이를 자종, 자량, 자서, 누적률, 누적빈도율 등의 방법으로 각 읽기 독해 자료의 통계를 작성하고, 분석하여 연구를 진행하였 다. 이를 토대로 현재의 싱가폴 소학교에서 사용되고 있는 교재에서 학습하는 한자 가 현재 싱가폴에서 실제 사용되고 있는 언어의 사용현상과 일치하지 않는 것을 발견할 수 있었으며, 이를 토대로 어떻게 하면 싱가폴에서 사용되는 초등학교용 한자 학습 교재가 더욱 특색화, 과학화, 합리화, 시스템화될 수 있는지에 대해 논의하 면서, 『어린이용 고빈도 한자표(兒童高頻字表)』를 제시하여 이를 교재에 실제 사용 할 것과, 다시 이를 학습의 순서에 따라 『어린이 상용한자표(兒童常用字表)』를 제작하여 이를 “滾動式” 한자교육법과 융합시키고자 하였다. 이를 통해 학생들은 더욱 흥미롭게 한자를 학습할 수 있으리라 생각하며, 이것이 싱가폴 교육부가 큰 목소리로 주장하고있는 “즐거운 학습”이라는 교육이념과 “실제 생활에 잘 사용하 자”라는 교학법 주장에 부응하는 것이라 생각한다.
Singapore changing social language environment has brought about two major reforms to the
Chinese language education namely “teach less and learn more”and “making learning interesting
and more relevant” .The objective is to motivate pupils to learn more and encourage the capable pupils to help the weaker pupils in the learning process. However, the author believes that this reform is just a breakthrough in teaching strategies, but the core problem is not resolved. The primary school Chinese literacy teaching in Singapore has not been resolved which include 3 basic aspects like word types, word content and word order. In this thesis, the author focuses on word frequency survey taken from the following: (1) 12 core units in the primary school Chinese text books from the Singapore Ministry of Education. (2) Reading books which are widely used by Singapore primary school “Memory is like abox”. (3)The front page of the auxiliary publications including "New Friends", “New World ", "New Train ”. (4) The front page of the Singapore Chinese newspaper "Lianhe Zaobao" which includes international, domestic and educational information. Based on the word species, the amount of words, word order and coverage of the four databases, statistics are compiled, analyzed and researched. It’s noted that the current Chinese language literacy teaching in Singapore primary schools is not so adequate. The literacy teaching materials in Singapore can be made more adequate by making them more featured, more scientific , reasonable and systematic. The author proposes the creation of two unique charts relevant to the Singapore children. Firstly "children’s high-frequency words” chart to be used for literacy teaching materials and secondly“ children’s common usage words” chart to integrate with literacy teaching using' rolling strategy' and put it into the lesson plan design process, so that learning is made more interesting .This goes hand in hand with the Ministry of Education promotion "making learning interesting and more relevant” .
This thesis studied the situation of the platitude novels in the changing literature environment in the 1950s. Especially it noticed the effect which in the modern have on the creation and distributions of platitude novels. It regarded it as the restraint of distributions and development of platitude novels that there were big changes of the publishing regulations and system after the 1950s. In this context, we need to notice the activities of Beijing popular literature creation society established in the early 1950s. They wanted to supply with works expressing revolutions in which the uneducated, could easily understand and agree. But the mainstream at that time needed to show more high-level socialistic ideas than popular literatures. The uneducated could not satisfy their needs, interest, and entertainment which were critical subjects. At last the position of platitude novels oblige themselves to be trifling and inferior to realism literature. Also writers in platitude novels could not hold the leading positions from the literature in those days.
