        The steel I-girder inserted circular steel pipe is a new structural cable-anchorage system that the circular guide pipe is connected and welded to the web of the I-girder for cable-stayed bridge. This guide pipe-anchor system has many merits of the structural and aesthetic performances. However, there has been little research into the behavior mechanism with respect to anchor angles and the strengthening methods against the sectional area reduction caused by the penetration of guide pipe. Therefore, this paper investigates an experimental behavior of the steel I-girder with circular steel tube which is fabricated 1/3 scale model as fundamental study to examine the flexural behavior and failure mode in the laboratory. Based on the comparison of test results and nonlinear FE analyses, it is found that FEM is suitable to estimate the stiffness of I-girder with circular tube in order to design the cable-stayed bridge.

        PURPOSES: The purpose of this study is to evaluate physical properties, durability, fatigue resistance, and long-term performance of poly-urethane concrete (PU) which can be possible application of thin layer on long-span orthotropic steel bridge and to check structural stability of bridge structure. METHODS : Various tests of physical properties, such as flexural strength, tensile strength, bond strength and coefficient of thermal expansion tests were conducted for physical property evaluation using two types of poly urethane concrete which have different curing time. Freezing and thawing test, accelerated weathering test and chloride ion penetration test were performed to evaluate the effect of exposed to marine environment. Beam fatigue test and small scale accelerated pavement test were performed to assess the resistance of PU against fatigue damage and long-term performance. Structural analysis were conducted to figure out structural stability of bridge structure and thin bridge deck pavement system. RESULTS: The property tests results showed that similar results were observed overall however the flexural strength of PUa was higher than those of PUb. It was also found that PU materials showed durability at marine environment. Beam fatigue test results showed that the resistances of the PUa against fatigue damage were two times higher than those of the PUb. It was found form small scale accelerated pavement test to evaluate long-term performance that there is no distress observed after 800,000 load applications. Structural analysis to figure out structural stability of bridge structure and thin bridge deck pavement system indicated that bridge structures were needed to increase thickness of steel deck plate or to improve longitudinal rib shape. CONCLUSIONS: It has been known that the use of PU can be positively considered to thin layer on long-span orthotropic steel bridge in terms of properties considered marine environment, resistance of fatigue damage and long-term performance.

        본 연구에서는 다채널 자속누설 센서를 이용하여 강케이블의 국부손상을 검색하였다. 먼저 자속누설 기법을 고정된 케 이블 구조물에 적용하기 위해 프로토타입의 8채널 자속누설 센서헤드를 제작하였고, 국부손상이 발생한 케이블을 구현하 기 위하여 PVC 파이프에 강케이블을 채워 강케이블 다발 시편을 제작하였고, 케이블 시편 외부 및 내부에 다양한 크기 및 방향을 가지는 국부손상을 단계적으로 발생시켰다. 이와 같이 제작된 강케이블 시편을 대상으로 각 손상단계에서 자속누설 센서헤드를 이용하여 자속신호를 스캔하고 출력전압으로 표현하였다. 이어서 일반극치분포를 이용해 손상유무를 판단할 수 있는 기준이 되어줄 임계값을 설정하였고, 이를 각 채널에서 계측된 자속신호와 비교하여 객관적인 손상판단을 수행하 였다. 또한 케이블 모니터링에 있어 가장 중요한 정보인 손상의 길이방향 위치를 효과적으로 검색하기 위해 모든 채널의 자속값을 합하여 총합값의 형태로 임계값과 함께 나타내었다. 최종적으로 임계값을 초과한 부분의 길이방향 및 원주방향 위치를 실제 손상과 비교함으로써 본 기법의 국부손상 검색 가능성을 살펴보았다.

        These steel cables on suspension bridges and cable-stayed bridges are major members that transmit the dead and live load through the bridge’s main cable; hence, it is essential that inspection, maintenance and reinforcement are done regularly. In this study, we developed a magnetic sensor which is capable of detecting possible internal damages on bridge cables. It can be utilized to monitor actual suspension bridges and cable-stayed bridges.

        Steel cables are frequently used for various infrastructures. Especially the steel cables in long span bridges are critical members Damage at cable members can occur in the form of cross sectional loss caused by corrosion and fracture. Therefore, NDE of steel cable is needed to measure the cross-sectional damage. In this study, Total Magnetic Flux sensor system was applied to monitor the condition of cables. This system measures total magnetic flux to detect the loss of metallic cross section area(LMA) of steel cable. To verify the feasibility of this study, 2 types of steel bar were fabricated and their output values measured by the search coil in total flux sensor.

        본 논문에서는 다양한 형태의 케이블 요소들의 거동이 강사장교의 극한강도에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 연화소성힌지 모델을 사용한 극한강도 평가 시 보-기둥 부재의 기하학적 비선형은 안정함수를 사용하여 고려하였고 재료적 비선형성을 반영하기 위하여 CRC 접선계수와 포물선 함수를 사용하였다. 케이블 부재는 새그의 영향이 고려되었다. 연구 결과 등가탄성계수가 반영된 등가트러스 요소를 사용한 경우 강사장교의 극한강도가 케이블 요소 또는 현수선 요소를 사용하여 평가한 극한강도 보다 안전측으로 평가되었다.
