This study is concerned with the efficient improvement in the shipboard training of trainees for the marine officers in the future. The shopboard training course is given much weight in the curriculum of the seamanship education for the characteristics of that. In spite of various earlier studies to improve shipboard training system, we don't have desirable one until now on this problem based upon practical and empirical analysis. It seems a matter of urgency should be settled to improve the training environment-training facilities and equipment including simulator education - for the efficient pratice off-shore during training vessels in port. And it is also desired to regulate downward the credit system needed to graduate that trainees should be immersed in their practice without regard to their school records if passed the course during the training period.

본 논문에서는 상선사관을 위한 실습선에서의 효율적으로 실습 가능한 적정실습인원 및 설비 개선에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 연구 수행을 위해 상선해기사를 양성하는 교육기관의 실습선에서 교육중인 실습생과 교원을 대상으로 적정 교육 인원에 대한 설문을 실시하고 실습 면적을 포함한 교육 설비에 대한 전반적인 제원 조사를 실시하여 이번 연구에 대한 기초자료를 준비하였다. 또한 연구의 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위해 인간공학에서 제시하는 공간개념을 도입하여 이번 연구에 적용하였다. 이러한 기초 연구 자료와 개념을 통해서 항해통합콘솔 장치라는 항해 실습생을 위한 교육 설비와 기관실습생을 위한 설비인 기기 정비 운용 실습교육장을 제안하였다. 그리고 제시된 설비에서 교육 받을 수 있는 적정 인원을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the present situation of language teaching practice in Junior Colleges, and to propose a way to improve it. This is achieved by comparing and analyzing questionnaires that describe teachers` and students` responses in language learning. The language laboratory has played an important role in improving students` ability to speak English, but it has been analyzed that there are many problems to be improved and complemented in both teachers teaching and students learning of English. So professors and college administrators involved in students learning of foreign language should all find in the review of effective language curriculum: new teaching methods, reading materials, smaller class sizes, and educational facilities. This paper suggests that the effective operation of the new Multimedia laboratory should be necessarily needed to improve students` good command of English, including its advantages over the existing language laboratory. Furthermore, the following topics will be examined in order to point out various aspects and problems of language teaching practice. (1) Lesson types relevant to English (2) Comparison and analysis of practical use in the language laboratory (3) Presentation of suitable models through examination of students` interests (4) Effective teaching methods in language teaching practice.

Traditionally, in the education for the trainees of marine officier, the emphasis is laid on the practical training on board to prepare them for the future position on board and to fit them for the shipboard life. Though the education has been carried out in various ways according to each country's social tradition, culture and educational system, in these days it is done normally by the combined way of school education and training on board to get the competence for the marine officer. Thus the shipboard training course is compulsively required to the candidates for certification as merchant marine officers by the IMO STCW convention 1978 and also it is believed that the education for the dacet officers is to be completed through the shipboard training. In spite of the various earlier studies to improve the training education system, there are few studies for the matters and problems form the standing point of cadet.
