This study analyzed whether there are mediating effects of government policies between the inputs and the economic performances of Korean bioenergy companies-this was accomplished by applying a mediating analysis by PROCESS Macro ver 2.16.3 (Hayes, 2013) based on a survey from the bioenergy companies. The analysis found that the increase in inputs of the Korean bioenergy companies affected the increase of performance through the government policies. In addition, comparing the mediating effects of detailed policies, this study found that said effects were greater in the order of RPS(Renewable Portfolio Standard) > the price variation of electricity = the obligation of greenhouse gas reduction > the changes in business scale based on RPS·RFS(Renewable Fuel Standard). However, it was found that the price variation of transportation fuels and RFS did not make a significant difference. There are two political implications of this study. First, to enhance the economic performance of bioenergy companies, the Korean government should keep the expanding trend of the current RPS. Second, the government needs to emphasize the importance of biofuels for transportation and make policies to develop related industries.

The study aims to analyze economic of biogas plant in transition of recognition that waste resources has become renewable energy. The traditional investment valuation method using the NPV or IRR has a limitation in a sense that uncertainty of the future is not reflected. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to assess the value of the business by taking advantage of the real option. Biogas plant simulation is applied to the case of Garak Market using the binomial options among a variety of real options. With this analysis, it is assessed that operational expand option is the largest of the value of the binomial options.

The production of bio-energy crops is a major research project in the emphasizing the “low carbon ․ green growth” strategy. For this, the possibility of the introduction of the new energy crops improve the agricultural income from farming must be diagnosed. This study describes the level of agricultural income per unit area by cropping system based on the income of crops in the field. Especially, we have chosen the southern part attracting the attention in the possible area of the bio-energy crop production. This study consists of five chapters. Chapter Ⅰ is the introduction. Chapter Ⅱ is on the status of the southern part cropping system and the analysis of the economic value. Chapter Ⅲ is on the economic value analysis introducing new bio-energy crops. Chapter Ⅳ is on the comparative analysis for the economic value of the croping system introducing new bio-energy crops. Chapter Ⅴ is the conclusion.

This study evaluated economic feasibility to find a method that can increase income of a rape farmer for biodiesel. Biodiesel is one of an important bioenergy that can be used to substitute diesel-fuel. A rape is useful not only for biodiesel, but also for a substitute of a barley. This study deals with the income and cost data of a rape farmer compare to that of a barley farmer. According to the result of economic evaluation from 2002 to 2006, the income of a rape farmer for biodeisel incurred a loss. However, this study showed that the income of a rape farmer would be approximately 80% of that of a barley farmer if a new variety of rape called ‘SUNMANG’ was growed. Also, biodiesel has various ancillary effects such as by-product, preservation of a scenery, reduction of CO2, etc. If the income of a rape farmer had ancillary effects, it would exceed the income of a barley farmer. As a result, we need to support ancillary effects of a rape to encourage a rape farmer for biodiesel.

The objective of this paper was to evaluate economic feasibility of biodiesel production. Biodiesel is a diesel-fuel replacement produced from domestic renewable resources such as vegetable oils. This paper deals mainly with the income and cost data to analyze economic feasibility of biodiesel. The income of a rape farmer for biodiesel was 206,894won/10a, and it’s similar to barley income. In addition a rape production for biodiesel have ancillary effect. Therefore we have to use direct payment for encouraging the production and use of biodiesel.
