        This study is to evaluate the reinforcement details of reinforced concrete special shear wall systems. The use U-shaped transverse reinforcement and relaxed reinforcement regulations within special boundary elements in shear wall is shown to improve the construction issue caused by over-design by borrowing architectural structural standards in strong earthquake area. This result will give a basis for improving the performance of shear walls with use of U-type transverse bars.

        In this study aims at exploring the use of steel frame as an innovative method of improving the seismic performance of link beams. Also, the effect of diagonal reinforcement in link beam is evaluated in comparison to conventional reinforcement.

        In this study, experimental research was carried out to study the high strength RC exterior beam-column joints regions using reinforcing detailings and high ductile fiber-reinforced mortar. Test results showed that specimen BCJISP were increased th maximum load-carrying capacity and showed stable hysteresis behavior and satisfactory crack pattern in comparison with th standard specimen BCJC.

        Coupling beams of coupled shear wall systems are often the most critical members in medium or high rise buildings subject to seismic load or wind loads. To ensure the survival of shear walls under high-intensity cyclic loading, these beams, which normally have limited dimensions, should possess high deformability and good energy absorption while being able to resist large shear force. Experimental work are conducted to illustrate the design of special RC coupling beams using the proposed procedure reinforcement details.
